Aravinda Sametha that released on Thursday started its innings with record earnings overseas.

On the very first day of its release, the film made $1 million and joined the 1 million club, including the collections from the premiers.

As per latest reports from the US, the film has made $1.7 million and is still doing good business. In fact, making $1.5 million dollars is not new to Tollywood heroes. However, in case of NTR, the collections have set a new record.

This is the fourth time that NTR’s film made $1.5 million, which is a huge record. While other heroes did make $1.5 million too, they had a hit followed by a flop mostly. In NTR’s case though, he has given four back to back hits.

Already Nannaku Prematho, Janatha Garage and Jai Lava Kusa are in the club. Now, Aravinda Sametha joins them. In fact, this is a first-time record for any hero in south.

Though he is enjoying the success of Aravinda Sametha, NTR is keeping away from public events as his father had passed away only weeks back. So, he is planning to take off to a foreign destination to relax and have some me time.

Once back, he will join the team of Rajamouli’s next film that stars NTR along with Ram Charan, for pre-production work.

The pre-release event of Hello Guru Prema Kosame saw some interesting moments between the film’s cast and crew. While it is usual that producer Dil Raju always dominates in the promotional events of his films, the latest is that he went a step ahead and grooved on the dais.

Music director Devi Sri Prasad has asked Dil Raju to dance for the mass number and title song ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’. Though Dil Raju had gently refused initially, he had joined after hero Ram, music director Devi Sri Prasad, director Trinadh Rao and heroine Anupama Parameswaran were shaking their legs. Especially, Raju’s moves with Anupama were stood out and became hilarious.

Even Anupama has enjoyed dancing with Dil Raju. Meanwhile, Dil Raju smartly related this dancing moment with Mirchi. Recollecting that he had danced with Devi during Mirchi and the film became blockbuster, Dil Raju said the sentiment would work for Hello Guru Prema Kosame as well.

Ram Charan wrapped shooting in Azerbaijan and spent for a while in Georgia and came to back to India to look after other works. He’s busy wrapping his next that is being directed by Boyapati Sreenu. Here is an interesting snippet about the film’s overseas business.

We hear that this Charan-Boyapati film, #RC12, got sold for 9 crores in the overseas territory. An NRI who want to enter into film business has bought the rights of the film at such mammoth price. But such a hefty investment will only force him to sell the film at a heavy rate, which will not work out trade wise.

Though Rangasthalam has made 13.9+ Crores share (23.2 Cr share), his previous film Dhruva made only 5.5 crores share (10 Cr Gross) from USA, UK and other overseas territories. And now,#RC12 needs to collect close to 3 million dollars if it has to recollect the investment poured by the distributors. That puts trade circles into a confusion now.

As Boyapati Sreenu and Ram Charan don’t have a proven market in Overseas territories for their ‘mass’ films, collecting 3 million will be a daunting task. Has the producer sold the film at a lesser price, then the situation would have been different. But with Rangasthalam sold for 9 crores, seems like he asked for the same price for #RC12 too!!

In the wake of Prabhas shooting in Como, Italy for his upcoming film being directed Radha Krishna Kumar, many Telugu guys living in Europe are trying to get a glimpse of their favourite actor. And those who have visited the shooting spot are saying that they have caught Anushka as well on the location.

In reality, Anushka went to Austria to join at Vivamayr Spa Clinic where she will be indulging in a weight loss program. Maybe she might have paid a visit to Italy by taking a high-speed train such that she could catch up with her friend Prabhas. And this visit is now giving scope to more rumours.

Guess what, rumour mills say that Anushka didn’t turn up on sets as Prabhas’ uncle Krishnam Raju is not happy with this friendship. We have to see if there is any truth in this.

One of the strategies of big films is to jack up the ticket prices during the initial days of release so that the collections will be good irrespective of the word-of-mouth.

Aravinda Sametha is no different but this time around, the ticket price of Rs 200 in B and C Centres did affect the common man and led to footfalls, shorter than expected on Friday.

At the same time, the extra ticket price made up for the deficit and contributed to a healthy share of revenues.

Meanwhile, a key person of the producers has reportedly called up the distributors and requested them not to reveal the actual revenues but inflate them by 10 to 15 percent.

One distributor speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed the same and said, “Normally, we get such requests from fans but this time, we were surprised to see a person from the producers’ side making such a request.”

But if they report inflated figures, how will they explain it to the Income –Tax department? That friends is an entirely different game, an art which they don’t teach at any film school.

After setting a non-Baahubali opening day record by collecting a stunning share of Rs 26.64 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, NTR’s Aravindha Sametha has had yet another fabulous day on Friday.

On Friday, Aravindha Sametha displayed an exceptional hold on day 2, with a share of almost 8 crores even though it was a working Friday. The movie is super strong at the box offices across the Telugu speaking states. Especially, Nizam and Ceeded are beyond expectations in particular.

Taking up his film saga as one story and political journey as another part, Nandamuri Balakrishna is coming up with ‘Kathanayakudu’ and ‘Mahanayakudu’ that deal with the biopic of legendary NT Rama Rao. And here comes Ram Gopal Varma at it, giving announcements about his version of NTR biopic.

After cooling down for a while, and the fumes razed by ‘Officer’ failure forgotten, Ram Gopal Varma is back saying that he will be making a film on the life and times of NTR. He says that while Balayya’s film stops before Lakshmi Paravathi entered NTR’s life, while his film will start from there. Looks like the struggling maverick director locked a logic now.

In a statement, he revealed that ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ will be launched on the eve of Vijayadashami next week and a press meet will be held on October 19th to reveal more details about the project. Also, Varma added that by end of January 2019, the film will be released. We know that NTR Kathanayakudu is hitting cinemas on January 9th, while Mahanayakudu is releasing on 24th. In a way, Varma is likely to target the release of the second part of Balayya’s NTR.

Well, we have seen so many such announcements coming from Ram Gopal Varma in the recent times, but none stood by their feet. Let’s see what happens now.
