Lakshmi’s NTR To Target ‘Mahanayakudu’ Release
Taking up his film saga as one story and political journey as another part, Nandamuri Balakrishna is coming up with ‘Kathanayakudu’ and ‘Mahanayakudu’ that deal with the biopic of legendary NT Rama Rao. And here comes Ram Gopal Varma at it, giving announcements about his version of NTR biopic.
After cooling down for a while, and the fumes razed by ‘Officer’ failure forgotten, Ram Gopal Varma is back saying that he will be making a film on the life and times of NTR. He says that while Balayya’s film stops before Lakshmi Paravathi entered NTR’s life, while his film will start from there. Looks like the struggling maverick director locked a logic now.
In a statement, he revealed that ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ will be launched on the eve of Vijayadashami next week and a press meet will be held on October 19th to reveal more details about the project. Also, Varma added that by end of January 2019, the film will be released. We know that NTR Kathanayakudu is hitting cinemas on January 9th, while Mahanayakudu is releasing on 24th. In a way, Varma is likely to target the release of the second part of Balayya’s NTR.
Well, we have seen so many such announcements coming from Ram Gopal Varma in the recent times, but none stood by their feet. Let’s see what happens now.
Daring Step by Trivikram – Rajamouli
Whenever a good film comes out, ace director SS Rajamouli takes to his micro-blogging site to give his review. And his mini-reviews are quite popular among netizens too though these days he is giving reviews even for not-so-interesting films.
But if it is Tarak’s movie, definitely Rajamouli won’t stop reviewing it. Here is what he has to say about Jr NTR latest film “Aravinda Sametha” that has hit screens other day.
“Taking the aftermath of a war as a plot point & starting the film with that is a daring step by Trivikram garu. And it worked superbly. Tarak’s performance in that scene will be remembered for a long time. JB garu is terrifying” said Rajamouli, congratulating the whole team.
That coming from Rajamouli is a huge victory for Trivikram and Co for sure because the film has certain moments that only appeal to a particular section of the audience. But with Jakkanna’s certificate, surely many will be rushing to theatres in case if they haven’t watched the film yet.
Meanwhile, Tarak’s fans are asking Rajamouli to reveal when #RRR will be going on floors. Both Tarak and Charan are avoiding questions on #RRR from a while and collectively saying that Rajamouli should talk about it.
Rumour: Nani Said ‘No Kajal Please’
For senior heroes who struggle to find a heroine, and for young heroes who can’t get dates of other in-form star heroines, Kajal Aggarwal is the only option. They don’t mind shelling more than a crore to get this diva aboard.
But not all heroes will jump in joy if the producer and director want Kajal on board. We hear that hero Nani refused the idea of getting paired with Kajal for his upcoming film to be directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti. He is said to have felt that Kajal looks too older than him on one side, and then the script actually demands someone who looks young and refreshing.
As Mythri Movie Makers are the producers of this film and as they have dates of Kajal (which they got for Raviteja’s Theri remake, which is almost shelved/delayed), they evinced the idea of pairing Kajal with Nani. Though the production house hasn’t said anything of this, sources close to Kajal denied the rumour that the actress is refused by the natural star.
Anyway, right now Kajal has films with the likes of Sharwanand, Bellamkonda Srinivas lined up.
Balaiah To Entertain Telangana Voters!
Telugu Desam Party MLA from Hindupur and senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna is going to provide the much-needed entertainment to the voters of Telangana, at least in some pockets.Balakrishna is learnt to have agreed to campaign for the Telangana TDP in the ensuing assembly elections in the state.
On Thursday, Telangana TDP leaders led by state unit chief L Ramana called on Balakrishna on the sets of NTR biopic at Sarathi Studios and asked him to take part in the campaign.
The TDP leaders informed Balakrishna that the party proposed to promote the latter as star campaigner in the ensuing Assembly elections.
The Hindupur MLA told the leaders that though he was preoccupied with shooting, he would find some time to take part in the electioneering at some point of time or the other.
Most probably, he would campaign for the TDP in some areas in the last week of November, when the final schedule of the shooting of his father’s biopic NTR Kathanayakudu will be completed.
“After the post production works are completed, Balakrishna will dedicate his time to the campaign. He may campaign in TDP strongholds in Greater Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts,” Ramana said.
If Balakrishna campaigns, it will be a great entertainment for voters, who are bored with routine allegations and counter allegations. Having seen his funny speeches in Andhra, the people will get a lot of relief in the tense political atmosphere.
Balakrishna recently participated in the party’s campaign at Madhira assembly constituency in Khammam district a few days ago.
The TDP leaders mobilised huge crowds for his rally and he unveiled a huge statue of his father late N T Rama Rao at Dendukur village.
#MeToo Allegation on Director, Hero Cancels Shoot
In a move that came as a complete shocker and also an eye-opener to the film fraternity, Superstar Akshay Kumar has decided to cancel the shooting of his upcoming film “Housefull 4”.
Other day three different women have accused director-producer Sajid Khan of sexual harassment, while he’s preparing from the shooting of Housefull 4 that will resume today. And then we have actor Nana Patekar playing a crucial role in this film and he is also facing sexual harassment case from heroine Tanushree Dutta.
Informing about the cancellation of the shoot, Akshay said, “I’ve just landed back in the country last night and reading all the news has been very disturbing. I’ve requested the producers of Housefull 4 to cancel the shoot until further investigation.”.
Adding more about #MeToo movement, he said, “This is something that requires stringent action. I will not work with any proven offenders and all those who have been subjugated to harassment should be heard and given the justice they deserve”.
Reacting on the same, director-producer Sajid Khan tweeted, “In the wake of the allegations against me & the pressure being put on my family, my producer n the stars of my film Houseful4, I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time I can allay the allegations and prove the truth.. I request my friends in the media to kindly not pass judgment till the truth is out”.
Housefull 4 has popular Telugu heroines like Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in the leads alongside Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh.
AB Is Captain Kundra In ‘India Strikes’
The surgical strikes by the Indian army against terrorist camps across the Line of Control, is undeniably one of the hallmarks of the Modi administration.
A web series in Hindi is now being made on the same and Tollywood actor Aadarsh Balakrishna has bagged a plum role in the project.
Speaking to greatandhra, Aadarsh said, “Yes, I’m excited to be a part of this web series which is called ‘India Strikes’. I play Captain Vikram Kundra who is part of the team that carried out the surgical strikes.
“We’ll be shooting soon in Bhadarwah region of Jammu. Raj Acharya who worked as first assistant director to Danny Boyle for Slumdog Millionaire will be directing the series and Amit Sadh and Darshan Kumar are the lead actors.”
Applause Entertainment owned by the Aditya Birla Group is the producer.
“The only downside is that I will have to skip my sister’s wedding on the 19th of this month as I’ll be in Jammu,” adds Aadarsh ruefully.

YSRC, Too, To Enter Fray In Telangana?
There have been reports all these days that the YSR Congress party will be staying away from contesting the ensuing assembly elections in Telangana, as it has neither stakes nor cadre base in the new state.
However, latest information from the party leaders is that the YSRC would contest for at least 25-30 seats in Telangana to make its presence felt.
Apparently, the party leadership thought even if it gets nominal percentage of votes, it would help the party expand its base to other states and emerge as a national party in future.
For a party to get the national party status, it should have its presence in at least four states with some percentage of votes.
May be, if the YSRC comes to power in AP and get some vote percentage in Telangana, it might contest elections in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the coming years in a bid to get the national party status.
According to a senior YSRC leader, the party would go to it alone in Telangana and test its fortunes.
The party’s Telangana unit is preparing a ground report and it would be submitted to party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy shortly for approval.
“If the party does not contest the elections, the very existence of the party in Telangana has no meaning. At least to keep the party cadre intact, we should contest in the polls. We can improve upon our share in the percentage of votes in the coming years,” the leader said.
The party leaders feels that YSRC still has good number of followers in Khammam, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and parts of old Nalgonda districts.
“When the TDP is trying to retain its identity in Telangana, why can’t we make a similar attempt?” he asked.
The party had secured about 6.5 lakh votes in Assembly polls and 8.5 lakh votes during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, the party sources said.
