My Home to control TV9 Telugu?
In August this year, Srini Raju, the original promoter of popular Telugu television channel TV9, stepped out of its holding company Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited, selling away his stakes to local investors and others.
Within hours of the news broke out, ABCL announced that the TV9 Management team under the leadership of its CEO Ravi Prakash had taken over the group with two major international investment funds and local investors.
Though the company did not disclose the names of the local investors, they turned out to be Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) promoted by Krishna Reddy and My Home group promoted by real estate tycoon Jupalli Rameshwar Rao.
According to the latest reports, the two investors had shared their territories in the TV9 network.
While My Home Infra would take care of TV9 Telugu channels, the remaining language channels, including TV9 Gujarati, TV9 Marathi and TV9 Kannada, would be looked after by the Megha group.
Thus, My Home will have minor stakes in the channel, while Megha will control pan-India business of TV9.
Interestingly, My Home does not have interests beyond Telangana region. Reason is that he has the backing of Telangana
They Stopped Fighting, They’re Directing -Trivikram
The most talked about aspects from “Aravinda Sametha” are surely the opening fight and interval fight sequence. And then they are discussing the climax of the film. Interestingly there is a connection between these three, and that is none other than Ram-Lakshman, the fight choreographers.
“All the credit to opening 15 minutes and interval bang goes to Ram-Lakshman. They stopped composing fights, they’re actually directing the particular episode and that is the reason they turned out so well” said Trivikram, giving full credit to the fight master duo. And then what about the climax scene?
Actually, the biggest shocker from Aravinda Sametha is that there is no big fight in the climax episode and it’s only a verbal discussion. So what prompted Trivikram to go for such an extreme even though he’s handling a star hero like Jr NTR?
“Again I’ve to give the credit to Ram-Lakshman only. We started a discussion session at 6.30 in the evening and we continued till next day afternoon about the fight sequence. All the actors are waiting in Ramoji Film City for my arrival. But Ram-Lakhsman said no to fight in the climax episode, Hats off to them, and advised me to go verbally” said Trivikram, putting the climax credit in their pocket.
Heroine’s Own Voice for Popular Sequel
Varalaxmi Kumar rose to fame with a lot of effort and she’s an inspiration to many. She was seen in recent release Kurukshethram as a police officer. She is popular in Tamil for her performances.
For the first time ever, she is playing the role of an antagonist in Pandem Kodi 2, a sequel of blockbuster film Pandem Kodi which released 13 years ago. So Varalaxmi has dubbed for her role for the first time in Telugu. It is said that the actor was pretty confident that she will be able to do it easily. Sources have said that she is putting in a lot of efforts to get the act right.
Directed by N Linguswamy, the film has Vishal, Keerthy Suresh in lead roles and yesteryear actor Raj Kiran, who was present in the first part, is again playing a key role in the project. The film is slated for a release in Telugu and Tamil on the occasion of Dasara.
Sources have said that Varalaxmi has done the dubbing act really well and all are happy about it.
Excluding the aspects of film, it is known that Varalaxmi and Vishal are definitely good friends. Though there were rumours about their affair, Vishal denied it and Varalaxmi says they broke up. Let’s see whether this film has helped them in some way or not.
Trivikram Used Me Like A Karivepaku In ASVR: Sunil
Star comedian turned hero Sunil returned to full-fledged comedian roles, and played a hilarious role in his good friend Trivikram’s just released action drama, Aravindha Sametha. However, Sunil’s fans are slightly upset with his less screentime in the film.
At the film’s success meet yesterday, Sunil made a few interesting comments on his role. “If Aravindha Sametha is like biryani, Trivikram used me like a curry leaf in it.” He also said Trivikram might have used him as a banana had he made a fruit salad.
Sunil further added that Trivikram is a good friend and that perhaps he has cut his 3 scenes out of friendship. “But I am very happy with my role and the kind of response I am getting from audiences,” Sunil said. Whether Sunil took a sly dig at Trivikram or if it’s his sense of humour is unclear and it has left everyone confused.
Pic Talk: Kalyan Ram As Hari Krishna With Balayya

Finally, one of those most awaited pictures has come out. In the wake of Rakul Preet’s selection as Sridevi getting highly criticized by movie lovers, now #NTR team gave a stunning treat to cool down those worried fans.
Sharing a picture where he posed with Baabai Balayya, today Kalyan Ram gave an awesome treat. “Thirty years ago I’ve acted with my baabai as a kid in “Balagopaludu”. Now in this way!! Baabai as his father and I’m, like my father”, tweeted Kalyan Ram.
Needless to say, Kalyan Ram is perfectly apt for playing Hari Krishna on the silver screen in the #NTR biopic, where he will be playing the man responsible for NTR’s political journey in his ‘Chaitanya ratham’. Hari Krishna is the charioteer of the legend’s greatest journey, we have to say, and Kalyan Ram is a superb fit into it.
Meanwhile, this coming together of Nandamuri abbai and baabai also clarified to the world that all is well between them. Dot.
Tarak Thanks Trivikram & Fans

Aravindha Sametha released today and received a solid response from fans and even the critics were quite positive towards the film. The film has grossed nearly USD 800K from the US premieres. Overwhelmed by the response, Tarak took to Twitter and thanked a lot of people.
Firstly, Tarak thanked director Trivikram and said that this success wouldn’t have been possible without him and his focus and determination that drove the entire team. He then thanked the film’s producers Vamsi and Chinna Babu, heroine Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, Thaman and the rest of the cast and crew of ASVR for carrying the film on their shoulders.
The Young Tiger thanked his fans, calling them a source of great strength. He also thanked the members of the media and the members of the film fraternity for their support. Needless to say, NTR’s gesture of mentioning everyone’s name and thanking them is winning hearts.
#MeToo Storm: Five Times Tollywood Got Shocked

Like the way media and film circles in Tamilnadu are gathering storm now for #MeToo after singer Chinmayi blasted many including prominent lyricist Vairamuthu, Telugu industry is yet to see any such.
While some say that Sri Reddy has already showcased the #MeToo thing here, some sexist remarks by our acts should be added to that tag. Some popular actors who have passed sexist remarks in public events (film events) are back in discussion.
1) Nani’s Nadumu Remark
None expected that hero Nani would cross all the boundaries and talk about a heroine’s ‘nadumu’ at “Supreme” audio launch. “Raashi you’re very beautiful. When I watched ‘supreme hero’ (Andam Hindolam) song, I thought of whistling two times. The first it is being a Chiranjeevi garu’s song and the second time is when I got a glimpse of your ‘nadumu’.
2) Chalapathi Rao’s Vulgar Comment
At the audio launch of “Rarandoi Veduka Chooddam”, when the anchor asked Chalapathi Rao if women are really harmful, he stated that they are good for bedding. “Pakkaloki Panikostaru” is what he said.
3) Ali’s Benz circle comparison
speaking at a film event in Vijayawada, comedian Ali stated that Samantha’s ‘nadumu’ is like a Benz circle. Visually showcasing the waist area on himself, Ali said, “That part from here to here, it looks like Benz circle”. Later at Size Zero event, he stated that Anushka looks like that hot jilebi and also spoke of her thighs.
4) Balayya’s pregnant line
“My fans don’t want me to just run around a heroine. They either want me to kiss her or impregnate her” said Balayya at Paisa Vasool related event. His comment was severely criticised as he happens to be a sitting MLA as well when he said that.
5) Megastar Chiranjeevi’s unwanted talk
Of course, the film industry is showcasing only the glamorous side of heroines most of the time on the silver screen. But talking about that ‘objectification’ quite openly doesn’t make any sense. At Rachha audio launch he went on describing that Tamanna’s glamorous looks are stunning, and at Dhruva prerelease event he called Rakul Preet voluptuous. That didn’t go well with a section of feminist fans.
Rakul’s Pay For NTR: This Is Too much!

Just a day after Rakul Preet Singh’s unconvincing looks as Sridevi from the upcoming NTR biopic got released, here comes another news that is doing rounds everywhere. It’s about the hottie’s pay packet for acting in this flick.
A report published in a leading English daily apparently confirmed that Rakul Preet has charged around Rs 1 crore to don the hat of Sridevi alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna who is playing his father Sr NTR on the silver screen. Considering Rakul’s market value, her present fame and number of films in hand, this remuneration news sounds like a PR gimmick.
It is almost 2 years that Rakul Preet is seen in a Telugu movie after Dhruva. For reasons best known to her, she is not signing movies here. Some say that she’s demanding more, hence offers dwindled. Even for NTR biopic, she might have got paid around 30-50 lakhs for her but not 1 crore as being publicised, says an insider.
On the other hand, trollers are on full fire as they feel that Rakul is no match to Sridevi and only someone like Samantha would have done justice to that. That said, NTR unit is pretty confident that her 20 minutes presence in the film will be mesmeric.
