Vijaya Shanti on Chiru, Pawan Kalyan!
Admist speculations that Vijaya Shanti and Chiranjeevi would do a joint political campaign for Congress in Telangana, Vijaya Shanti, who is appointed as the adviser for the Election Campaign Committee of Telangana Congress unit, has responded and clarified that she doesn’t have any such information. Almost ruling out campaigning with Chiru, Vijaya Shanti said, “I don’t know anything about it. It didn’t come to me. We are not thinking of Andhra leaders.”
When asked whether Chiru, Balayya and herself would campaign, Vijaya Shanti reiterated that they were busy in Andhra where they belong to.
Earlier when Chiru had floated his political party PRP, Vijaya Shanti was in TRS. She had then criticized Chiru. Now that both Chiru and Vijaya Shanti are in Congress in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively, speculations are rife that Congress to go for a multi-starrer campaign and Balayya from ally TDP may join them.
Meanwhile, Vijaya Shanti is not in the fray for Assembly elections. She reportedly told party that she would be interested to contest for Parliament. Congress is toying with the idea of fielding Vijaya Shanti from Secunderabad constituency.
I Don’t Know About Janasena
Interestingly, when asked to comment about Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party and its prospects in Telangana, Vijaya Shanti said she has no clue about Pawan’s Janasena. It can be noted that Pawan had earlier announced that Janasena would contest in Telangana polls, but now, Pawan seems to had a change of mind and is solely focusing on Andhra Pradesh politics.
Have A Look At Kodangal Politics
As elections near in Telangana, the Kodangal assembly segment which was under the jurisdiction of Mahbubnagar district earlier, now is under Vikarabad after the reorganisation of districts. While the Telangana Congress Working President A. Revanth Reddy is confident that he will win his seat, TRS is also upping the ante by fielding P. Narender Reddy, brother of TRS Minister P. Mahender Reddy.
TRS believes that the new name from the region might work for voters who are vexed with Revanth Reddy. According to TRS sources, the reorganisation of districts also might help their candidate.
It is also planning to deploy senior ministers to support Narender Reddy’s candidature and campaign in the constituency. Sources say that the TRS is also planning to rake up the Cash for Vote case to throw Revanth Reddy in a quandary and weaken his base with the allegations.
After the recent IT raids on Revanth Reddy’s properties, the poll battle for Kodangal definitely will be a sight to watch out for, in Telangana.
‘Harish Rao And Me Are Like Brothers’
In what can be an interesting political comment, KT Rama Rao, the scion of KCR, has described his uncle Harish Rao as brother. Stating that Harish and he are like brothers, KTR rubbished of any differences between the duo.
Recalling his early days, KTR said he has grown up with Harish Rao. KTR said the only competition he has with Harish Rao is in terms of work, profession. He said the ambition of both is to make KCR as the CM again. He said their wish is to see KCR as the Chief Minister of Telangana for next 15 years. He said they were just fulfilling the jobs, responsibilities assigned by their leader KCR.
Sharing the same dais at a meeting with party workers, leaders in Siricilla, KTR made the aforementioned comments. While KTR was making these remarks, Harish Rao was all smiles and was blushing. Further, KTR heaped praises on Harish Rao. Complimenting Harish Rao’s work, KTR said Harish is working against the time and is completing the works of Kaleswaram Irrigation Project at blitzkrieg speed.
Prior to KTR’s speech, Harish Rao had spoken at the event. He lauded KTR for turning Siricilla from “suicides’ Siricilla into “Rich, Prosperous” Siricilla. Harish said KTR would work in such a way that he should cross the Siddipet (represented by Harish Rao) record in the electoral majority. Harish said there is an enormous amount of effort, hard work behind the progress of Siddipet.
Recently, Harish had turned emotional and opined that he should retire from politics when he is enjoying people’s love, craze. In the wake of several speculations within the party and outside the party, KTR’s comments gave the much-needed boost to party cadre.
Who Wants To See You As PM, Mr Naidu?
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu often gives an impression that he actually deserves the Prime Minister’s post and has not been showing interest in the big post in the interest of the people of his state.More often than not, Naidu said in public that he had got an opportunity to become the Prime Minister in 90’s but he had rejected the offer as he was keen on developing the state.
While coming out of the National Democratic Alliance also, he said the same thing saying he was not interested in becoming the Prime Minister and Narendra Modi need not be apprehensive that he would be a competitor for the big chair.While addressing the TDP coordination committee meeting, too, Naidu said though the TDP would play a major role in bringing all the opposition parties together to form a federal front at the national level, he would not be interested to be a PM’s candidate for the front.
“We are going to play a major role at the national level in the coming general elections and unite all the opposition parties, but I personally do not enter national politics,” he said.
He said he was not interested in becoming the Prime Minister.
“But I am keen on playing the role of a king maker in determining who will be the next PM. I will dedicate my life to the development of the state as a role model for the entire country,” he said.Well, first of all, nobody ever wished or wanted Naidu to enter national politics and become the Prime Minister. There are several stalwarts already in the queue even from the opposition and in terms of popularity, as several surveys indicated, Naidu figures somewhere at the bottom.
Secondly, the TDP is struggling to retain its power for the second time in Andhra Pradesh in ensuing assembly elections. And Naidu’s position as the chief minister itself is in danger.So, he should better concentrate on retaining his position, rather than projecting a larger than life picture of himself!
Exclusive: Censor mutes abusive words in ‘NOTA’
The much anticipated ‘NOTA’ is finally hitting the box office tomorrow. Ahead of the release the film has wrapped up the censor formalities and got a ‘U/A’ certificate while the runtime is locked at 149 minutes.
We have exclusively learned that the censor board the asked the makers to mute the word ‘Central Government’ wherever it occurs.Well, this is nothing new since 2014 and there are couple of abusive words i.e, “La***kodaka” and “Badkhavgaallu” which were also asked to mute.
We have already have seen in the trailer Vijay Deverakonda sarcastically appreciating the politicians with “F” word and there would be more as the per the censor.Despite a new director, not so popular production house in Telugu and very limited appeal actors, ‘NOTA’ is coming with mammoth of expectations.
The advance booking in the twin cities has opened yesterday and many multiplexes and single screens are reporting packed houses for the first week.

EC notice on TRS ex-MLA for bribing voters!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA in the recently dissolved assembly Enugu Ravinder Reddy representing Yellareddy constituency in Nizamabad district landed in trouble with the Election Commission of India ordering action against him for allegedly trying to bribe the local voters.
Yellareddy tehsildar on Thursday lodged a complaint with the local police against Ravinder Reddy as per the directions of Nizamabad district collector, who in turn got the order from the Election Commission.
Recently a video of Ravinder Reddy offering bribe to a woman came out, much to the embarrassment of the outgoing MLA.
In the video which went viral in the social media, Ravinder Reddy was seen negotiating an amount of Rs 5 lakh with women supporters for taking an oath to vote for his party.
He was asking the women to organize a meeting of 50 women’s self-help groups for taking an oath to vote for the TRS, party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao and himself and he had offered to pay Rs 5 lakh in cash.
One of the women was found asking the ex-MLA as to how Rs 5 lakh could be enough to organize the meeting and his followers told her that they could expect more after the meeting.
The video, which has surfaced after the model code of conduct has kicked in on September 6, may spell trouble for the Reddy.
An Uphill Task Ahead For Devadas
Devadas starring Nagarjuna and Nani in the lead roles has had a decent first weekend and later cashed in on Gandhi Jayanti holiday on Oct 2.However, the film’s business till now has been very average considering the costs it was sold for. The film needs to collect Rs. 38 crore to be a box office success, but it has only recovered 55% till the end of its first week.
Collections have witnessed steep fall on Wednesday, which isn’t a bright sign. It will need to do really well in its second weekend to get closer to the breakeven mark.With Vijay Deverakonda’s NOTA hitting theaters tomorrow it is not going to be an easy task for the multi-starrer.
Besides Nag and Nani’s charm there is very little in favor of the film that suffered due to lackluster script.Thanks to the combination craze, it has held well for six days but can it hold for another weekend to cross the Rs. 30 crore mark?
As of now, breakeven looks near impossible unless there is a miraculous turnaround in its second week.
