TRS leaders and Sircilla MLA elect KT Rama Rao took oath as TRS working president today at around 11.56 am in Telangana Bhavan in the presence of party leaders, MLAs and MLCs.

Before taking the oath, KTR sought blessings from his mother and sister Nizamabad MP Kavitha at his home. He then took a rally to Telangana Bhavan with around 20,000 activists.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Harish Rao congratulated KTR. It is learned that KTR will be touring in districts from December 20.

According to reports, a special office will be set up for KTR at the party headquarters, so it will be easier for him to function out of there.

Last week, TRS President and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has decided to focus on national politics, entrusted the key responsibility to his son, who is seen as number two in the party and the government.

The CM has entrusted the responsibility of taking forward the party in accordance with his plan to KTR, the most trusted person in the party, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office had said.

Now that elections to Andhra Pradesh assembly along with the Lok Sabha polls are just four to five months away, Bharatiya Janata Party is planning to go all out to decimate Telugu Desam Party, though it has little stakes in the state.

As part of the strategy, BJP is roping in Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address a massive public meeting on January 6 at the Bible Mission grounds in front of Nagarjuna University in Guntur district, which is closer to Naidu’s power centre at Amaravati.

It was at the same venue on March 14 that power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan held a public meeting, where he declared a war against the Chandrababu Naidu government.

Though initially it was decided to hold the meeting in East Godavari district, it was changed to Guntur because BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana suggested it for his own political reasons and also to throw a challenge to Naidu closer to his power centre.

The place is also centrally located to enable the party to mobilise enough crowds.

Apparently, Modi is serious about attacking Naidu on the latter’s home turf, because Naidu had challenged his leadership by holding a meeting of all the non-BJP political parties in New Delhi.

Modi will not only explain the assistance given by the Centre to the state, but would also expose the failure of the Naidu government in utilizing central funds and in running the administration.

“Modi shall give a fitting reply to Naidu who had taken a U-turn on issues like Special Category Status to AP and attacking the Centre on alleged non-implementation of provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. He would also expose Naidu’s ill-intentions in preventing the CBI from conducting probes into the financial irregularities in the state,” a BJP leader said.

After Modi’s meeting, the state BJP leaders would take out a bus yatra to explain the people about the failures of the Naidu government.

“Even national BJP president Amit Shah would also be visiting Andhra Pradesh subsequently,” the leader said.

Pawan Kalyan always pitches himself as most patriotic politician in India. His Twitter handle’s Bio also carry this: “Jai Hind !!”

Bhagat Singh, considered as the most influential revolutionary in Indian Independence movement, was given the death penalty by the British colonisers.

He was only 23 years old when he was hanged. His death inspired hundreds to take up the cause of the freedom movement.

Where as Pawan Kalyan termed it as suicide. Bhagat Singh is often called Shaheed Bhagat Singh, a martyr.

Even before the people living in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh could forget the devastating Cyclone Titli, the Cyclone Phethai has gripped them in fear. IMD officials predicted that Phethai will make the landfall in the Yanam-Tuni coastline this afternoon.

Currently, Phethai is centred in the East-West direction of the Bay of Bengal, some 270 kms from Kakinada. Due to the pressure in the Bay of Bengal, there are chances of huge winds at a speed of 90 to 110 kmph. However, Phethai, which is travelling at 28 kmph at the moment, is expected to weaken slightly before its landfall.

Cyclone Phethai will show its impact on 7 districts along the coast. Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Krishna and Nellore district officials have been alerted. Schools in several highly alerted areas will remain closed on Monday. Relief and rehabilitation centres have been setup in case of emergency.

Chandrababu Naidu keeps updating himself. In a fresh, he has wowed one and all with Tamil speech. Naidu, who attended the inauguration of Karunanidhi’s statue at DMK HQ in Chennai, addressed the large gathering in Tamil.

Former TDP MLA Anna Rambabu and Madduluri Malakondaiah Yadav are likely to join YS Jagan in the coming days. Incidentally, Anna Rambabu, a Vysya leader in the Giddaluru assembly constituency in Prakasam district has decided to join the YSRCP after finding that his chances of getting a TDP ticket in 2019 are bleak. Rambabu had announced that he will join the YSRCP in the last week of December.

On the other hand, Madduluri had been actively taking part in Jagan’s Padayatras for the last few weeks. He had contested in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chirala on a TDP ticket and was defeated. He is expected to play a key role in the 2019 elections as his constituency has over 30,000 Yadav votes. Meanwhile, the YSRCP high command is hopeful that more TDP leaders will migrate to the YSRCP in the next 2 months.
