Our victory was never in doubt: KCR’s daughter

Share

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha said on Tuesday that there was never a doubt that the party will retain power with a huge majority.

Kavitha, a member of the Lok Sabha, said there was no anti-incumbency as the TRS government had done well on all fronts during the last four-and-a-half years.

The TRS leader said the so-called tough fight between the TRS and Congress-led People’s Front was showcased only on paper. She told a news channel that Telangana had voted for development.

“KCR’s hard work has paid off,” said Kavitha, adding that it was both welfare programmes and Telangana pride which worked for the party in this election.

The Nizamabad MP said Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu hijacked the People’s Front to hide his failures in Andhra Pradesh.

She said after this huge victory, KCR would now focus on national politics to work for an alternative to both Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.

Top Congress leaders trailing in Telangana

Hyderabad: Several top Congress leaders were trailing in the Telangana Assembly elections as the initial trends from across the state indicated on Tuesday.

The party’s floor leader in the dissolved Assembly K. Jana Reddy and its state Working Presidents Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Revanth Reddy were among those who were trailing behind their rivals of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Another senior Congress leader former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha was also trailing.

Former ministers Jeevan Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir were also trailing.

Celebrations at TRS HQ in Hyderabad

Share

Hyderabad: Celebrations began at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) headquarters here on Tuesday as it became clear that the party was heading for a landslide victory in the Assembly elections.

Holding pictures of TRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, party workers gathered at the Telangana Bhavan raising slogans of “Jai Telangana” and “KCR Zindabad”.

They also burst firecrackers, distributed sweets, while some other enthusiastic workers, including women, were seen dancing.

They said the welfare and development works undertaken during the last four and a half years paid rich dividends to the party.

From 8 AM, New Equations In Five States

Share

December 11th is going to be a big day for all the political parties in the country itself as major equations are likely to change after having a look at these five states. As the states of Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Mizoram are going for counting today, here is what the predictions are like.

While BJP is ruling in the three states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Congress is ruling Mizoram and TRS in Telangana. It looks like there will be some power reshuffle as per the exit polls. In Rajasthan, almost all the exit-polls predicted that Congress will sweep the state, pushing the ruling BJP into opposition. In Madhya Pradesh, there will be a tough fight between BJP and Congress.

Chattisgarh is quite prestigious for Congress because they are out of power in that state for straight 15 years. Can Congress win this time at least? But in Mizoram, it looks like Congress will come to power yet again. And then, it is a challenge for TRS to keep their power, while Congress-led Praja Kutami is looking forward to ousting CM KCR from the throne. While all the exit polls gave TRS an upper hand, Lagadapati Rajagopal predicted Congress’ win.

Anyway, as the counting starts as early as 8 am, by lunchtime, the results will almost be predictable. Let’s see what happens.

Telangana: Congress blames ‘EVM tampering’

Share

As Congress faced another defeat at Telangana, despite being a part of the alliance called Prajakutami, it was trailing in the Telangana election results, as per the latest trends.

However, Congress blamed its apparent loss on alleged tampering of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).

Telangana Congress President N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that all the Congress will lodge a complaint to RO officers “We will also complaint to ECI on this matter. How can TRS leaders say before counting that who will lose in elections?”

Hi-Tech Voters Reject Naidu

Share

One of the major contentions put forward by Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the Mahakutami campaign was that he was responsible for the development of Hyderabad and Hi-Tech city in particular.

At the time of campaigning, yellow media highlighted IT youth who had attended Naidu’s meetings with placards which read, “We are in Hyderabad because of you.”

But the election results in Hyderabad too have come as a complete surprise as Chandrababu failed to win the trust of the voters even in Hyderabad, the city he had developed.

This means that Chandrababu can no longer bank on his ‘development theory’ anymore as the people who according to him benefitted from his administration have not voted for him.

Even Police Are Also Promoting 2PointO

For every blockbuster movie, there will be some sort of unexpected support that will take its final collection to a new level. For example, when Baahubali came, no one expected the hashtag #WKKB or the hungama of Bollywood celebs that would take the movie’s collection to a new level.

Then we have #2PointO coming now, which hasn’t got as much promotion as Baahubali got from all the corners. Though the hook points like Superstar Rajni and Akshay Kumar got their fanbases supporting them, there is one particular poster that is grabbing all the attention now.

Making use of the character Pakshi Raju, played by Akshay Kumar, which says in the movie that every citizen who uses a mobile phone to cause radiation that kills birds is a murdered, now Nagpur police have come up with crazy posters. They say that every person who forwards fake news is a murderer. And asked people to become smarter by rebooting themselves to a new 2.0 version of themselves.

Currently, these posters are getting all the attention in Nagpur and also on social media.

Telangana Poll Results : Congress Gets Chopper

Share

Congress’ top netas have rushed to Hyderabad ahead of the people’s verdict in Telangana. While TRS is extremely confident of marching to victory on its own, Congress leaders speculate that they could form the government with the help of independents/rebels along with Praja Kutami.

Amidst this, Congress trouble shooters Ghulam Nabi Azad, DK Shivakumar (from Karnataka) have already reached Hyderabad. Another senior leader Jairam Ramesh and Sonia Gandhi’s close aide Ahmed Patel are expected to fly down to Hyderabad today.

Interestingly, Congress has kept chopper for airlifting of MLAs if needed and even independents who would like to support Prajakutami. Congress camp is all set to protect its winning MLAs against poaching. At the same time, it is all set to lift MLAs if there is a fractured verdict.

Congress is on high-alert after it faced bad experience in government formation in Goa and Meghalaya earlier.

A special chopper has been hired and is kept on stand by at a secret location in neighbouring Karnataka. DK Shiva Kumar, who had played a key role in JDS-Congress post-poll alliance in Karnataka, has been assigned the task of organizing the ‘camp’ for winners from Kutami and to keep them safe. Depending on the situation, DK Shiva Kumar might shift the Kutami candidates to Bengaluru or any other place in Karnataka if a fractured verdict is in offing.

Already, Congress has passed strict orders to all its candidates and summoned them to report by today evening. Local leaders have been assigned the responsibility of bringing the winning candidates.
