Can That Natural Disaster Stop #2PointO Storm?
Like we revealed it already, Superstar Rajnikanth’s latest film 2.O is going strong at Bollywood box office after it became the 100 crores grosser already. And then, there is a doubt if this natural disaster could stop its smooth run.
Standing at 132 crores net collection so far from Hindi version alone, the film might post 200 crore figure if it gets a smooth run at the box office until Shahrukh Khan’s Zero releases on December 21st. However, much before SRK arrives, we have the film “Kedarnath” hitting cinemas tomorrow.
Featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in the leads, the film’s trailer created huge flutters as it featured the natural disaster (flash snow flood) that has struck Kedarnath temple couple of years ago. To witness that disaster on the silver screen is one reason and the other one is the talked about debut of Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara.
In case if Kedarnath gets a super hit talk, then it will have a toll on #2PointO collections for sure. Otherwise, Rajni will have an upper hand.

BJP plotting against Karnataka govt
After Bihar, BJP is planning to be part of a government in Karnataka and is heard to be drawing strategies to bag power. The latest statements by union minister Prakash Javadekar are creating a storm among the political circles.
Prakash reportedly said the differences between the Congress and JD(U) are growing and anytime the government could fall. Remarkably another minister Sadananda Gowda is also making similar statements.
If dig deep into BJP’s plans, this saffron party is likely to face upsetting results in the five states, this would eventually influence the 2019 general elections. So BJP wants to make sure there would be a balance if it grabs the power in Karnataka and can win maximum Parliament seats in the state which would help in forming the government in the national capital.
In the north, BJP is not expecting sweeping results like 2014 and so is focussing on South. As per political experts, BJP wants to form the government in Karnataka before the general elections next year.
KCR, son, nephew among 1,821 candidates in fray
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrashekhar Rao, his 14 cabinet colleagues including a son and a nephew and state presidents of the Congress and the BJP are among 1,821 candidates in the fray for Friday’s Assembly elections.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, state Congress working President A. Revanth Reddy and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder N.T. Rama Rao’s granddaughter N. Suhasini are among the other key candidates whose political fortunes will be decided in the polling on Friday.
KCR, as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief is popularly known, is seeking re-election from Gajwel constituency in Siddipet district. The 64-year-old, who never lost an Assembly or Lok Sabha elections since making his debut in 1985, is confident of yet another victory.
KCR’s son K.T. Rama Rao, who is number two in both party and government, is aiming for a third term from Sircilla constituency.
KCR’s nephew and cabinet minister T. Harish Rao appears set to retain Siddipet seat for the fourth term in a row. Considered a powerful leader in the ruling party, he also won two by-elections from the same seat.
Among the other ministers, Etela Rajender, who holds finance portfolio, is testing his fortunes once again from Huzurabad.
Congress party’s Telangana unit chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who may emerge as a strong contender for the Chief Minister’s post in the event of Congress-led People’s Front coming to power, is contesting for a third consecutive term.
Revanth Reddy is another key contestant. Revanth, whose midnight arrest on Tuesday triggered a storm, is contesting again from Kodangal, considered a politically sensitive constituency.
Another Working President of Congress Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is the party candidate from Madhira (SC). Former Central Minister Sarve Satyanarayana is contesting on Congress ticket from Secunderabad Cantonment (SC).
Suhasini is trying her luck from Kukatpally, a constituency in Greater Hyderabad. Suhasini, whose father N. Harikrishna died in a road accident recently, is banking on voters who have their roots in Andhra Pradesh.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s state President K. Laxman is contesting from Musheerabad in Hyderabad, while AIMIM’s firebrand leader Akbaruddin Owaisi is seeking election from Chandrayangutta, also in Hyderabad, for a fifth consecutive term.
Don’t Need Jagan Acknowledgment, Says Pawan
Power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has started considering himself a big force to reckon with the Andhra Pradesh politics and throwing barbs at his opponents.
On Thursday, Pawan took strong exception to YSR Congress party leader and Rajya Sabha MP V Vijay Sai Reddy’s comments that Jagan and his party would not acknowledge Jana Sena as a rival political party and Pawan Kalyan as a leader.
“I don’t care whether Jagan acknowledges Jana Sena or me. I don’t even need Jagan’s acknowledgement as a leader. People have recognized me as a leader. Just with one call of mine, lakhs of people took part in Jana Sena kavaathu at Dowleshwaram. That is more than enough to prove my popularity,” Pawan said.
He criticized that the YSRC president and his party MLAs had stopped bothering about the people’s problems.
“They never go to the assembly and raise the people’s issues there. They can’t pull up the government for its inefficiency,” the Jana Sena chief said.
Pawan said he had been getting requests from almost all the districts that he should contest from their respective places.
“I will take a decision as to where I should contest from in January or February,” he clarified.
LS poll: BJP mulls fielding Madhuri Dixit from Pune
MUMBAI: The BJP is considering fielding Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit-Nene from the Pune Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 general elections, the party sources said.
In June this year, BJP chief Amit Shah had met the actor at her residence in Mumbai during his party’s ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ (Contact for Support) programme and briefed her on the achievements of the Narendra Modi government.
A senior state BJP leader today told PTI that the actress name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.”The party is seriously considering giving candidature to Madhuri Dixit in the 2019 general elections. We think the Pune Lok Sabha constituency will be better for her,” he said.
“The party is in the process of finalising the list of probables for several Lok Sabha seats and Dixit’s name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency…she is being seriously considered for it,” the leader said.
The 51-year-old actor has featured in many Bollywood films, including Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Dil To Pagal Hai, Saajan and Devdas.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had snatched the Pune Lok Sabha seat from the Congress, with Anil Shirole winning by a margin of over three lakh votes.
On the plans to field the actor, a senior BJP functionary said, “Such tactics were implemented by Narendra Modi in Gujarat when he became the chief minister for the first time. He changed all the candidates in local bodies election and the party reaped benefits of that decision.”
“As fresh faces were introduced, there was nothing to criticise them with. It left the opposition shocked and the BJP won maximum seats and retained power,” he said.
According to the leader, a similar experiment was also successfully carried out in Delhi local bodies polls in 2017, where all the sitting councillors were denied tickets. The BJP won the seats and retained the control, he said.
