Tollywood hasn’t registered single hit film in September and October in spite of big movies like Aravindha Sametha, Devadas, Shailaja Reddy Alludu and NOTA hitting the screens.

November, which is usually considered as a dull month for Telugu cinema box office has done better compared to previous months.

Dubbed film Sarkar turned out to be a decent hit in Telugu. It has become the first ever hit for Tamil superstar Vijay. Political backdrop and Murugadoss factor helped Sarkar to fetch decent openings and the film capitalized on it to go past the breakeven mark.

Vijay Deverakonda’s long delayed horror comedy Taxiwala has become a hit against all odds. Despite the leakages and low buzz, Taxiwala managed to collect more than Rs. 20 crore share, which is almost triple its making costs. The film’s success cannot be compared to Geetha Govindam or Arjun Reddy, but it is a blockbuster nevertheless.

Much awaited high budget visual extravaganza 2.0 opened well in spite of releasing during off season. The film has generated good word of mouth and the buyers are hoping that it would hold well for few weeks to be a successful venture.

Mythri Movie Makers got rude shock in November with two of their movies Savyasachi and Amar Akbar Anthony ending up as disasters. The latter has put a huge dent in Raviteja’s market and has put director Sreenu Vaitla in a terrible spot.

Films like Adhugo, 24 Kisses, Rangu etc. were total washouts.

If the buzz from film circles is to be believed, Koratala Siva’s proposed project with Megastar Chiranjeevi wouldn’t be launched any time soon.

Megastar’s Sye Raa will take another year to wrap up and director Koratala Siva is not going to wait that long.

If Chiranjeevi’s film doesn’t start in the next couple of months, Koratala Siva will move on to making another movie with Mahesh Babu.

Superstar is currently busy with Maharshi that would finish its filming by February. He is yet to take a call on his next.

Rajinikanth is back with his 2.0 and the superstar once again proved that he is the king of box office. 2.0 opened huge on day one and is racing towards breaking many records. Rajini had a brief chat with a media daily while promoting his 2.0 and opened up on many things.

When asked about his political rivalry with his contemporary actor-superstar Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth rubbished having any rivalry. Rajinikanth refused to call Kamal an opponent, but a great friend and co-star. Rajini also revealed that many tried to separate them, but they all failed.

For the last one month, an amateur singer named Baby from Vadisileru village in East Godavari district has been taking social media by storm. A video clip of Baby singing O Cheliya Naa Priya Sakhiya from Premikudu has been going viral and even AR Rahman had praised Baby’s mellifluous singing.

Actor-music composer Raghu Kunche is the first person to offer a playback singing opportunity to Baby. Recently, Raghu released a small video in which Baby was seen recording her first song in Hyderabad.

The song, titled ‘Palle Koyila’, has been penned by popular dialogue writer Lakshmi Bhupala and composed by Raghu Kunche. The song is almost an autobiography of Baby’s life in her village. On the other hand, Baby recorded her first movie song for an upcoming film titled Palasa 1978 under Raghu Kunche’s composition.
