Reel Buzz: Nithiin Back In Race?
Hero Nithiin entered the Rs 40 crore range with A… Aa. But the debacle of Lie pulled him down the line. Though he had high expectations on the film, it failed to interest audiences and that resulted in a huge disaster.Later, Nithiin had a release in Chal Mohana Ranga. The film did medium-range business, but ended up being an average runner.However, now Nithiin has another big film lined up for release. Titiled Srinivasa Kalyanam, the film is being produced by Dil Raju.
The film has been made with Rs 30 crore and it has already done a business of Rs 25 crore. It still has to do satellite and digital business.The film was sold at Rs 10 crore per MG in Andhra. The film managed Rs 4 crore in Ceded and Dil Raju himself is distributing in Nizam. So, for the sake of numbers, the team threw in Rs 6-7 crore. Adding Rs 3 to this mix is overseas rights. Finally, the film more or less made Rs 25 crore in pre-release business.
Since the film was made with Rs 16 go 17 crore, the producer has made good profit. Like expected, if the film makes money at the box-office, then it will be an encore for the producer.Once over, Nithiin will start shooting for Harika Hassine banner. Venky Kudumula who had earlier made Chalo will be directing the film.
Joke: TDP Doesn’t Want Any Alliance In 2019
The announcement made by Telugu Desam Party that it is not looking for any alliance with any party for the 2019 elections in Andhra Pradesh is being taken with a pinch of salt by the political observers in the state.Senior TDP leader and Information and Public Relations Minister Kalava Srinivasulu told the media in Vijayawada that the TDP was confident of retaining power in the State on its own going by its track record and good work done by the government under the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu.
But the fact is that the TDP does not have any friends, after it snapped ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party in April this year.In 2014, apart from the BJP which had an alliance with it, the TDP also had the support from Jana Sena Party floated by power star Pawan Kalyan and that helped him a lot.Now, both the BJP and the Jana Sena Party severed ties with the TDP. The mighty opposition YSR Congress party is giving Naidu a run for his money.
The Communist parties have joined hands with Jana Sena. The Congress is not in a position to resurrect itself let alone have the luxury of forging alliance with any other party.So, who else is left for the TDP to have an alliance in the elections? It has no option but to fight it alone.Interestingly, it will be for the first time that the TDP is going to fight the elections alone. Even in the first elections it had contested in 1983, the TDP had an alliance with an unknown party called Sanjay Vichar Manch.
Subsequently, in every election, it had alliances with the Communists or the BJP or other parties. So, how Naidu is going to fight the next elections alone remains to be seen.
Akhila Upset, As Her Rival Gets Plum Post!
The appointment of senior Telugu Desam Party leader from Allagadda in Kurnool district A V Subba Reddy as the chairman of AP Seeds Development Corporation by party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have upset state tourism minister Bhuma Akhila Priya.
It is an open secret that Akhila and Subba Reddy do not go along with each other well, as the latter is eyeing Allagadda assembly ticket in 2019 elections. Akhila, who got elected on YSR Congress party ticket and later jumped into the TDP, got a berth in the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet and is trying to dominate the Allagadda and Nandyal politics, ignoring Subba Reddy.
Though Naidu tried to bring about a truce between the two warring groups, Akhila and Subba continued to indulge in rivalry.The two groups even indulged in physical assaults during the TDP deekshas for special category status in April last. Subsequently, Naidu had to call both of them and pacified them stating that he would take care of their interests.Yet, Akhila has been desperately trying to snub Subba Reddy politically by seeing that he would not get any post. But much to her shock, Naidu appointed Subba Reddy as the chairman of AP Seeds Development Corporation, which is a Cabinet rank post.
Apparently, Naidu wants to silence Subba Reddy and his group, while giving confidence to Akhila that her seat would be intact.But Akhila is said to have felt that elevation of Subba Reddy to the corporation chairman post was only to reduce her control over Allagadda constituency.Now, the local TDP leaders would run after Subba Reddy than her for every work, sources close to her said.
Suspense Continues Over Expelled MLAs!
It looks like the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is hell bent on preventing the re-entry of two expelled Congress MLAs – Komatireddy Venkat Reddy from Nalgonda and S A Sampath Kumar from Alampur into the state legislative assembly.On Wednesday, the TRS government filed a review petition before the division bench of the state high court challenging the judgement of the single judge bench restoring the assembly membership of the two MLAs.
Additional Advocate General filed the petition on behalf of the government, asking for a review over the earlier judgement.The division bench admitted the petition and posted the case to August 16 for the commencement of hearings.It does mean, suspense will continue for some more time over the reinstatement of Komatireddy and Sampathi as the MLAs.On August 4, the high court directed that the two MLAs, who were expelled for their alleged erratic behaviour in the House during the budget session in March this year, be reinstated within a week.
The court gave the directions to Telangana Assembly secretary and also law department secretary to submit documents pertaining to restoration of their assembly seats and adjourned the case to August 10.The high court sought action against law secretary V Niranjan Rao and Assembly secretary V Narasimha Charyulu for deliberately delaying the implementation of the earlier order.KCR seems to have felt that if the two MLAs are allowed back into the House, it would be a loss of face for him and prestige for his government.
So, he wants to drag the issue as far as possible, so that even if the court gives judgement in favour of Komatireddy and Sampath, it would take a long time.By that time, the assembly sessions would come to an end and election process would begin, so that the two MLAs will not get any chance to enter the assembly again!
All Three Parties Have Equal Shares in Rishi
#SSMB25 tentatively titled Rishi was actually planned to be made on Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations.But later Aswini Dutt joined as one of the partner as Mahesh has a prior commitment with Vyjayanthi Movies. PVP Cinema was later given a share as director Vamsi Paidipally had signed a two film deal for them. He was supposed to make two films in a row for them.
Therefore, PVP also has been on board as one of the producers since the beginning of the filming. Although the filming is going on at a rapid pace, producers haven’t come to a conclusion regarding the share in the business.According to PVP, all three parties have decided to have equal share in production as well as business.
