Anam’s Indecisiveness Cost Him His Seat?
The fate of former minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh politics has once again landed in uncertainty, thanks to his indecisiveness in joining the YSR Congress party.Anam, who decided to quit the Telugu Desam Party on the pretext of lack of importance in the party, held several rounds of negotiations with the YSR Congress party leaders, including party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy twice.
Jagan reportedly told Anam first to join the party and assured to take care of his political interests. It is learnt Anam wanted the YSRC ticket for his native constituency Atmakur but since sitting YSRC MLA Mekapati Gautam Reddy is strong, Jagan rejected it.He knows that if Anam is given Atmakur ticket, it will trigger revolt from Mekapati family. So, he reportedly offered Venkatagiri ticket and asked Anam to consider it.
But Anam was in two minds in accepting Venkatagiri. But before he taking a decision on it, the chance was grabbed by former chief minister late Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy’s son N Ramkumar Reddy, who had hitherto been with the BJP.On Monday, Ramkumar reacted quickly and resigned from the BJP to meet the YSRC chief and got an assurance for Venkatagiri seat.Though the BJP desperately tried to prevent Ramkumar from leaving the party by offering him party state general secretary post, he preferred the YSRC as he knew that he had brighter chances of winning from Venkatagiri, which was represented by his mother N Rajya Lakshmi in the past.
Now, Anam is cursing his fate. He has lost both Atmakur and Venkatagiri and it is unlikely that he can get the YSRC ticket for any other constituency. At the same time, he has lost the chance of returning to the TDP fold. So, what he is going to do remains an interesting question.
Rs 3600 Crore: Who Is Lying?
Union Minister Prakash Javdekar was in Anantpur to inaugurate the classes for Central University there. There were a score of TDP leaders in attendance including Paritala Sunitha and Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.Speaking on the occasion, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said there were no funds being released by the Centre for the Universities and educational institutions promised under Reorganisation Act.
“While the State government has spent Rs 900 crore on providing land and other amenities for the institutions, there is absolutely no help forthcoming from the Centre,” said Ganta and even showed facts and photographs of the work-in-progress to the media personnel.Prakash Javdekar also spoke to the media and said the Centre had given Rs 3600 crore to AP so far for educational institutions. He also furnished details of the funds released to the media.
Which of the two is telling the truth?
Pawan Kalyan in the past had mooted a Joint Fact Finding Committee with Jayaprakash Narayan and Undavalli, precisely to find out the truth behind how much the Centre has actually given Andhra Pradesh or whether it was the TDP that was lying.Had that Committee gone ahead and completed its work, we would have got the answers to many questions.
Why Did Nagarjuna Really Buy Chi La Sow?
Nagarjuna bought ‘Chi La Sow’ out of the blue and began promoting it on Annapurna Studios banner and this has surprised everyone. Some thought he bought the film for his nephew Sushanth. But the real reason is that it was his kodalu Samantha who insisted that her friend Rahul Ravindran should get a boost as he was struggling to release the film.
“Chi La Sow” won fairly decent reviews, but the film is not a great shaker in terms of content. Nor has the film become a sensational hit.It may not even recover the cost of production from theatrical revenue given the low collections that it is drawing currently. Then why did Nagarjuna give Annapurna Studios banner name to this movie that was produced by newcomers?
As Nagarjuna recently admitted when kids ask parents have to do certain things. He did it for Samantha and Naga Chaitanya. They were the reason Rahul Ravindran got the advance for the second movie as well.

Be Thankful To Modi, Mr Naidu!
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu does not have any gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been sanctioning huge funds to the state despite the TDP parting ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“It is not Modi who betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh. It is Naidu who has betrayed Modi who has done a lot to the state,” BJP MP from Narsapuram Gokaraju Ganga Raju said on Monday. While describing Naidu as an efficient and able chief minister, Ganga Raju said the state had been witnessing a lot of development under Naidu’s leadership.
“But the credit should go not to Naidu, but to Modi. The residuary state of Andhra Pradesh, which started off on a deficit budget in 2014, has been able to witness so much development only because of Modi’s magnanimity,” Ganga Raju said.He said Naidu would not be able to become a national leader if he continued to attack the Prime Minister.“If you think you are a taller leader than Modi, you should prove it through your governance and not by hurling abuses at the Prime Minister,” the MP said.
Ganga Raju felt that the state would have witnessed much more progress had the TDP continued its friendship with the BJP.“But Naidu, for his political gains, sought to blame the BJP. Can he deny the role of the Centre in undertaking the welfare and developmental programmes in the state?” he asked.
