Andhra University has conferred the famous Kalaprapoorna title for the popular Telugu Film Lyricist Chandrabose. So, he can be called Kalaprapoorna Chandrabose now.

While many are happy over the deserving title for Chandrabose, some film celebrities are lamenting that the title would have been first given to Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry. But Sastry was given the Kalaratna award by the government of Andhra Pradesh recently, whereas the title was not as famous as Kalaprapoorna.

Kalaprapoorna is unlike any government title and can used as prefix before the name.  Renowned music director Ilayaraja and first generation film singer Rao Balasaraswati were also conferred with the same title this year along with Chandrabose.

Chandrabose turned super famous with his latest songs in Rangasthalam. His songs “Mounamgaane edagamani..”, “Telugu bhasha teeyadanam…” etc and the title song of Rangasthalam with philosophical lines prove to be imperishable songs in the history of Telugu Film literature.

Well, Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry is certainly a bigger literary giant than Chandrabose who certainly deserves Padma award. It is only the responsibility of either Telangana government or AP government to recommend his name at least in coming season.

Who wouldn’t love to enjoy the oomph factor generated by the Bollywood’s most happening Sunny Leone? At the same time, she’s got reasonably good number of fans who would feel empathy for the pain she’s going through.

Going into the news -a documentary film ‘Karanjit Kaur- The Untold story of Sunny Leone’ has been recently made based on the real story of the sexy siren. Sunny herself played her role in the biopic film and it showcases how Karenjit (Sunny’s original Punjabi name) transformed into Sunny Leone and what was her life in Canada as an adult star.

The Jism2 actress watched the special premiere of the document a few days back and it made her totally emotional and reminded her of the early days as ‘Karanjit Kaur’. The grieving Sunny has used to her Twitter page and posted what she’d gone through – ‘My heart broke a thousand times tonight…probably cried a thousand tears tonight wanting, longing, missing, regreting, and wishing I could have you close to me once more. That day will never come but in my heart you will always remain! #karenjitkaur guilty of doing it my way!!!’

Certainly, millions of her worldwide fans replied with hundreds of cheer up messages and in another tweet, she said, ‘You all are so sweet for all your kind words.’

The season of biopics is being joined by films that deal with real incidents also. And Bollywood has now come up with a film on India’s first nuclear tests done at Pokhran in 1998. The film got released yesterday and have a look at how it is working out.

Opening to mixed reviews, John Abraham’s Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran got applause from elite classes for showcasing what happened around that time and how USA-China felt uneasy with India getting access to the nuclear club. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film opened in almost 2000 screens in India alone but we have to say the opening day collections were dismal.

It made only 4.82 crores nett on the First Day, though many expected that the figures will touch 10 crores owing to the huge number of screens it released in. They say that the IPL semifinal (Qualifier 2) between Sun Risers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight riders has dented the film’s first show and second show collections, the overall low key promotions did the additional damage. However, a good word of mouth might help the film.

As per critics, the film’s first half is little slow as the director took sweet time to establish the scenes, characters and the backdrop. But in the second hour, the film turned racy and everyone is waiting to find out from the edge of their seat as to how India got succeeded at Pokhran despite a couple of big countries holding us back.

If two big forces are coming together, surely the buzz around that film stands at the pinnacle no matter what is the result of their previous individual projects. That’s what happening with Trivikram and Jr NTR’s upcoming film “Aravinda Sametha”.

According to the Exclusive reports, the USA business of the film is close to closing almost. We hear that LA.Telugu, the distributor who has taken Agnyaatavaasi is also going to distribute this movie too. Whether Aravinda Sametha is being given to them as a compensation as a fair business practice or that they have quoted high is not known, but the deal is anywhere between 13-15 crores for the theatrical rights, say sources.

If we look at NTR”s previous films, Janata Garage was sold for almost 7.26 crores and the film made nearly 2 million gross from the box office (12 crores), which resulted in huge profits for the distributors. But his Jai Lava Kusa that got sold for 8+ crores collected only 5.1 crores share (1.7+ million gross), resulting in some losses. But now that Trivikram is at the helm, “Aravinda Sametha” stuck a deal anywhere between 13-15 crores easily. But the onus lies on the film’s content as it has to collect more than 3 million to recover those figures.

Surely USA deal is exciting because NTR will be setting a huge target in place and might achieve it as well owing to his hit-spree and Trivikram’s content magic. Let’s see what happens.

Entrepreneur, software firm owner, US-returned Ram Talluri, who is Pawan Kalyan’s close friend, has seen two back-to-back setbacks as producer. Known as soft and good in film circles, Ram saw huge losses with his first two production ventures.

While the first being Chuttalabbayi of actor Aadi and director Veerabhadram Chowdary (of Bhai fame), the second is the latest Ravi Teja and Kalyan Krishna Kurasala’s Nela Ticket.

Aadi’s Chuttalabbayi incurred losses and the film is written off as disaster. Beating the first disaster, now Nela Ticket turned out to be bigger disaster. Although Ram owns several properties and still has big monies, after all, a loss is a loss.

Many in industry are talking about him and how he was ‘misled’ by the two directors. Let’s hope he will soon get good filmmakers and bounce back.

Director Trivikram rarely interacts with the media and whenever he does, there’s a lot to look forward to eagerly. The writer-director opened up about his professional and personal lives like never before in a latest interview given to a leading Telugu daily. Here are some interesting tidbits from the interview:

“We’ve sold Agnyaathavaasi for 90 crores. The film made 60 crores from the box office. Pawan Kalyan garu, Producer and I have paid them back 25 crores within 1 week of release as the result is imminent. That doesn’t mean we are great people or best citizens, but we did what we have to” said Trivikram, speaking to a leading daily today.

“Pawan Kalyan is a great man and good friend of mine. I wish him all the success in his endeavours. He’s of the mindset that one should not celebrate at the expense of others. That’s why we have made sure that Agnyaathavsi distributors will not get losses” said Trivikram, adding the Powerstar angle to the whole happening.
