Yesteryear lover boy R Madhavan is finally making his entry in Telugu film industry with Savyasachi. The versatile actor who grabbed the attention with his villainy acts in theatrical trailer is hoping to make big in Tollywood.

Madhavan graced Savyasachi pre-release event and he has all praises for the film’s lead hero Naga Chaitanya, director Chandoo Mondeti and producers of Mythri Movie Makers.

Madhavan started his speech in Telugu formally wishing all the spectators at the event. He thanked producers of Mythri Movie Makers for launching him in Tollywood. He said the producers are hitting sixes with each film they are producing and wished Savyasachi to become another blockbuster for them.

About Naga Chaitanya, Maddy said, ‘Chay is already very popular and I’m very happy for that. Best part about the project is everybody has golden heart and you are one of the best persons I’ve seen in the industry. From my bottom of my heart I say, I’m a huge fan of your (Chay’s) parents.’

Madhavan wished Nidhi Agerwal who’s making her debut with this project all the very best and he also lauded Vijay Deverakonda who attended the function as a special guest.

Pandem Kodi 2 is running successfully and what do you have to say about that?

It is the sequel of a film which released 13 years ago and still, it was the favourite of many. I am really very happy with the collections it has garnered in both Telugu and Tamil. Especially in B and C centres, it saw more number of collections. Pandem Kodi 3 is also on cards and this time, we will not take a decade to make it.

Have you done any homework for the remake for Temper?

No. because since childhood, I never did homework at all. I don’t want to imitate or try being a replica of what Jr NTR has done. I have such a good producer to help the team in every possible way. More than half of the shooting is already over. I just watched the film and that too once and I was impressed with Tarak’s acting.

What about the sequels of other films you have planned?

Detective and Abhimanyudu are getting sequels. Sequel of Detective might also be a bilingual and it will be shot in a different country as I will go to solve a case there. Abhimanyudu 2 is going to have a social message again. Personally, I like the sequel of Abhimanydu 2 as it is very much needed for the current scenario of our society.

When are you getting married and is it going to be with Varalaxmi?

I will be married only after my dreams come true and it will take time. Varalaxmi is my childhood best friends and I call her my soul mate. But I have nothing to say about my wedding with her. There is a long way to go and I will talk about it later.

Tell us about the #MeToo movement happening there as you are the Secretary of the Nadigar Sangham.

It is a very huge movement which is taking the internet by storm. We have put up a committee and the predator will be severely punished. At the same time, those who will be misusing it will not be left unpunished. Counseling to the new actors who will debut the industry will be given.

Fans have been waiting to see Akkineni and Daggubati heroes together on screen for a long time. The wait is finally over as Venkatesh has teamed up with his nephew Naga Chaitanya for a movie titled Venky Mama.

The project has been in talks for quite some time and it is finally hitting the sets in Novemeber. Director Bobby of Jai Lava Kusa and Sardaar Gabbar Singh fame will direct Venky Mama.

It is a joint production of Suresh Productions, People Media Factory and Kona Film Corportation. The film will go to floors in second week of November.

We can expect the film to hit the screens in late summer 2019. Venkatesh has teamed up with younger generation actors like Mahesh and Ram. This is his first full feature with Naga Chaitanya. He played a cameo in Premam.

Natural Star Nani had a couple of setbacks this year with Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Devadas failing at the box office.

However, he is not worried much about the failures as he has some promising projects in the pipeline. Nani’s next is Jersey, a period sports drama with cricket backdrop.

Nani will be playing a thirty plus cricketer named Arjun in the film directed by Gautham Tinnanuri. The project is bankrolled by Sitara Entertainments.

Nani decided not to take remuneration for the film so that it helps to make the movie with better quality and production values.

Nani usually charges around Rs. 8 Cr to Rs. 10 Cr for each film. But for Jersey he decided to take a share in the profits. He will get fifty percent share in the profits as per agreement.

He asked the makers to not to compromise on the quality of production as a sports film demands rich production values.

He is okay even if he doesn’t make much money on this film. He is so much in love with the subject that he came up with this proposal all by himself.

Producers Vamsi and PDV Prasad who are delighted with Nani’s decision are making sure to have the best technicians on board for Jersey.

Kannada film actress Sruthi Hariharan on Saturday filed a sexual harassment case with the police against actor Arjun Sarja here, a week after she had named him on the social media.

“We have registered an FIR (First Information Report) and booked the accused (Arjun) under various sections of the IPC on a complaint Sruthi filed at the Cubbon Park police station through her lawyer,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) D. Devaraj told reporters here.

Sruthi, 29, had named Arjun, 54, in her Facebook post on October 20, accusing him of sexually harassing her on the sets of a Kannada film in 2016. She also referred to two other incidents in November and December of 2015 in her complaint.

“Sruthi has accused Arjun of making unwelcome sexual advances, gestures to outrage her modesty and criminal intimidation over a period of time. We will investigate the case as per the provisions of the law,” said Devaraj.

Recalling the ordeal she underwent during the shooting of the Kannada film ‘Vismaya’ in November 2015, Sruthi said that during the rehearsal, Arjun amorously started cuddling, touching her hips and thighs, and moving his hands up to her bra.

“I took exception to Arjun’s inappropriate behaviour at the rehearsal. I silently suffered and was unable to express as I was an upcoming artiste while he was a senior, with clout in the industry and power corridors,” said Sruthi in her complaint.

Though Sruthi approached the director and told him that she could not work like this, nothing happened.

“There was another scene where we were supposed to lie on a bed together. Taking advantage of the situation, he pulled my hand, forcing me to come close to him, hug him, but I pushed his hand, finished the scene and came out of the set,” Sruthi recounted.

Referring to a shooting schedule in a city hospital in December 2015, Sruthi said Arjun repeatedly made advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures, and asked her to join after shooting in his private place, saying “we can spend private time together.”

On July 18, 2016, when Sruthi went to UB City in Bengaluru’s upscale shopping arcade for a shoot of ‘Vismaya’, Arjun walked behind her in the lobby, held her back hard and told her “why are you waiting alone at the lobby, why don’t you accompany me to my room, I am alone too, we will have some fun,” as per the complaint.

Sruthi thought of taking a legal action against Arjun on several occasions, but could not muster courage as she was an upcoming artiste and feared it could jeopardise her career.

“When I noticed the #MeToo movement gaining momentum where artistes like me who had suffered sexual harassment and who could not vent it out, I found it as a platform to express my ordeal too,” she added.

His last action film Yuddham Sharanam was a total washout and his attempt at commercial cinema also failed with Shailaja Reddy Alludu.

Chay’s last two hits Premam and Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam were romance/family movies.

Directors that made action films with Chaitanya were not seen anywhere since then. Even some producers stopped making movies after doing action films with Chaitanya.

With such a disastrous track record as an action hero, Chay is now trying his luck again with an action film Savyasachi.

The film’s trailers look promising and director Chandoo Mondeti has an impressive track record too. Even producers Mythri Movie Makers have hundred percent success rate to date.

Will this film fulfill Chaitanya’s hopes of becoming successful as an action hero? We will get the answer on November 2.

Creative director Ravi Babu is coming up with yet another experimental film Adhugo which revolves around a piglet named Bunty that steal the show in promotional videos.

Latest update about the project is senior actor Rajendra Prasad is powering this film with his voice. Yes, Rajendra Prasad is lending his voice for the piglet. It will be so much fun to see the piglet having the voice of the senior comedian.

The makers used live-action 3D animation technique to shoot scenes of Bunty to give realistic feel to movie buffs. In fact, this is for the first time such a technique is used for a Telugu film.

Besides piglet aka Bunty, Adhugo also features Abhishek Varma and Nabha Natesh in the lead roles. Prashanth Vihari has scored audio tracks, while Ravi Babu has produced the film under A Flying Frog banner and Suresh Babu is presenting it.

Adhugi is gearing up for release on November 7th for Diwali.
