Here is the trailer of Nela Ticket which promises a regular potboiler laced with usual commercial elements. Going by the 2-minute-odd trailer, Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja has banked heavily on fights, comedy, romantic and sentiment scenes. Looks like, the makers have banked on slapping scenes to evoke fun, humour. Director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala seems to have opted for a safe bet with the film.

The face-off scenes between baddie Jagapathi Babu and Ravi Teja seem a bit done to death. Jagapathi Babu looks stylish, menacing though as how he looks in his other films. Newcomer Malvika Sharma is refreshing but she looks so young alongside Ravi Teja. Fidaa fame Shaktikanth Karthick seems to have delivered what is needed. Visuals are alright.

On the whole, the trailer lives up to the title of the film that aims strictly at masses. But one has to wait till May 25 to see whether the film would crack any fire works to masses or not.

Unlike many contemporary directors who are wishing to make commercial and experimental films, Nag Ashwin made legendary actress Savitri’s biopic titled Mahanati as his second directorial film.

It was not an easy task for him to pen the life story of Savitri, since he adores her as an actress, but had very less information about her personal life, he approached various sources to gather information about Savitri. And one person who helped him in scripting was her daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari.

Apparently, Vijaya Chamundeswari has a soft corner on her father Gemini Ganesan. There were allegations that Ganesan is the reason behind Savitri becoming an alcohol addict and ending her life abruptly after being in coma for 19 months.

In the film Mahanati, Gemini Ganesan is not projected as villain. Gemini Ganesan is shown as an ardent devotee of Savitri who loved his second wife from the bottom of his heart and the director shows situations which made him to turn jealous of her.

It is almost a year since Dasari Narayana Rao, one of the great directors of Telugu film industry, died of prolonged illness. His memories are still haunting the film industry.

Even as Dasari’s followers got his statue installed at Filmnagar and unveiled by Telangana cinematography minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav recently, his family members are quietly implementing plans to dispose of all his assets and distribute the booty among themselves.

According to highly placed sources, Dasari’s two children and one daughter – Aruna Kumar, Hari Hara Prabhu and Hemalaya Kumari – have divided all the properties equally and began the exercise of distributing the money among themselves.

One son is staying in the US and the second one is establishing a production house in Hyderabad. The daughter is also staying separately.

Dasari’s house, lands and farm houses have been put up for sale. Only a portion of the land at his Moinabad farmhouse where his “Samadhi” and that of his wife Padma at Moinabad farm house are located is being untouched and the remaining portion of the farmhouse is put up for sale.

His house is being demolished and is being given for development. And the other properties have already been sold out, say sources.“If everything works out, the entire exercise is completed before May 30, his first death anniversary,” sources said.
