Watch Kaasi Movie Team Interview
Dil Raju’s Judgement Miserably Gone Wrong!
Industry people have huge faith, trust on the judgment of producer-distributor Dil Raju. Many in Tollywood believe that Raju’s judgment rarely goes wrong and gives so much value to his selection of scripts and his distribution releases. But looks like, Raju is slowly losing this.
His latest distribution Mehbooba turned out to be major disaster. While a film may work or may not work at the Box Office and it depends on several things. So, one need not blame the producer or its distributor for the film’s failure.
However, the point here is Dil Raju’s tall claims and his over-the-top praises on director Puri Jagannadh before the release of Mehbooba. Before Mehbooba’s release, Dil Raju on record had said he had watched the entire film of Mehbooba much before and bought the film’s rights only after impressed with the film. Raju publicly stated that Puri Jagannadh is back. He said Puri has once again proved how good his films can be made if he puts heart and soul into the film. Raju said Puri had written the script of Mehbooba whole-heartedly and declared that the film is going to be a big hit.
This talk of Dil Raju has really raised several expectations on the film. Pre-release buzz on Mehbooba was high. Many in industry thought really Puri would be back hearing Raju’s words. But the film has poured cold water on all those hopes. Lack of novel content and slow narrative have dampened the film to the core.
While audiences have rejected the film, Puri is now breathing fire on critics. All these also now surrounding Dil Raju. Looking at all this, one must admit that Raju’s judgment has gone miserably wrong.
Talk: Mumbai Offices Inspired Rajamouli
How do the offices of top directors like Rajamouli, Sukumar and Trivikram look in reality? Except for the office of Puri Jagan, The Cave, which is designed with almost 15+ crores budget, no other director has a luxury and lavish looking office. The least to say, there is no creative looking office for any Telugu director.
If we got to Bollywood, the likes of Karan Johar and Rajkumar Hirani have these well-designed office spaces, that not only look inspirational but also give that filmy feeling to employees over there. Say it direction department or accounts department, their cabins, the writings on the walls, the pictures and miniatures at these offices sound creative and awe-inspiring.
Reports are being heard in Film Nagar now that even Rajamouli want to come up with one such designer office in Hyderabad. Looking at the office spaces of Karan and others in Mumbai, he has decided to come up with such creative office space for himself too.
Needless to say, that office, if constructed, will have all the weapons that Rajamouli got designed for his protagonists will find space in the showcase. And he might also inspire with his own quotes and special write-ups. On the other hand, Puri Jagan’s office is more of a resort kind of with a filmy look.
After 22 Years, Vajubhai Gives It Back To Deve Gowda!
When Deve Gowda was the Prime Minister in 1996, the present Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala, was a minister in Gujarat in BJP’s government under Suresh Mehta’s leadership. Then Deve Gowda was one of the reasons for the fall of Suresh Mehta’s government in Gujarat then. Due to the fall of government, Vajubhai had to lose his ministry.
In fact, Vajubhai had been electing as MLA in Gujarat since 1985 but he was made minister for the first time in 1995-1996 in Suresh Mehta’s tenure. But his first ministry too didn’t last long due to Deve Gowda.
According to various reports, then PM Deve Gowda had recommended President’s Rule in Gujarat. With this, then President Shankar Dayal Sharma had imposed the President Rule. Even Atal Bihari Vajpayee had then objected Deve Gowda’s intervention. Vajpayee had openly criticized Deve Gowda for not keeping his word on Gujarat. Vajpayee had said that Deve Gowda had promised him that he would not interfere in Gujarat but breaking the promise, later Deve Gowda had recommended President’s Rule in Gujarat.
Vajubhai had lost his ministry. BJP’s defector Shankar Sinha Vaghela who had founded RJD had formed the government in Gujarat. Although BJP had majority, then Governor had given chance for RJD to form the government. Although Vaghela quit as the CM in 1977, the RJD had ruled Gujarat till 1998.
Later, Vajubhai had served as Finance Minister in Narendra Modi’s government and presented several budgets. In 2014, after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, Vajubhai had been made as the Governor of Karnataka.
Now in Karnataka, Vajubhai has invited the single largest party BJP to form th government. Many are linking this to Vajubhai’s previous experience with Deve Gowda and saying that Vajubhai had given it back to Deve Gowda after 22 years by stopping Deve Gowda’s son to become the Chief Minister now although he had full majority with the support of Congress.
It’s all part and parcel in the game called Politics.
K’taka Crisis : Chandrababu, KCR Offer ‘Shelter’ To JD(S) MLAs
The crisis in Karnataka has reached the Telugu states. Alleging that Governor Vajubhai is acting against the spirit of Indian constitution, Kumaraswamy has dialed both Chandrababu Naidu, KCR separately and sought their help. Swamy has given an open call for the unity of all regional parties in fight against the Centre.
Seasoned politician Chandrababu has been raising concerns over Governors and their bond with the Centre of late. Earlier, Naidu had made serious comments against Governor Narasimhan who allegedly told Naidu to slow down in Karnataka issue. Naidu had alleged that Governors, who are in constitutional posts, are acting at behest of the Union Government. It had created huge uproar. Narasimhan who went to Delhi the following day avoided meeting Prime Minister as he feared it would add more fuel to Naidu’s comments.
Even Chandrababu gave a call to Telugus in Karnataka to support JD(S) in Karnataka elections. Considering all this, Kumaraswamy has now sought Naidu’s intervention in the Karnataka crisis.
At the same time, KCR had also visited Bengaluru and met Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy. Pressing for the formation of Federal Front, KCR had approached JD(S) to join the Federal Front. Given this, Swamy has also now sought KCR’s help.
Amidst this, Chandrababu Naidu and KCR reportedly offered ‘shelter’ to JD(S) MLAs against the poaching of BJP. While Naidu offered to arrange shelter to JD(S) MLAs in either Vizag or Tirupati, KCR apparently offered to arrange shelter in the City of Pearls, Hyderabad. JD(S) is yet to take a call.
Meanwhile, Congress is planning to shift its 77 MLAs to Kerala, while one is said to be missing. Looks like, Congress-JD(S) combine is pulling out all stops to avoid Yeddyurappa to continue as the CM.
Hot Sister And Handsome Brother Are Locking Horns
While Tollywood is not seeing such hot sister and brother pairs sizzling on silver screen around the same time, already Bollywood has few direct siblings and few cousins rocking the circuits. And here comes one such sister-brother who are now going to lock horns at the box office.
Fact is that Sonam Kapoor got married now but her latest movie “Veere Di Wedding” showcases her in the hottest avatar ever of her career. The likes of Sonam, Kareena Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar who are acting as friends in the film are competing with each other to pour glamour in each scene. And this film is all set for June 1st release.
Guess what, Sonam’s brother Harshvardhan Kapoor is also coming up with the film “Bhavesh Joshi: Super Hero” on the same day. The film’s trailer got a terrific response from masses and people who love action thrillers. Though Bhavesh Joshi was initially set for May 25th release, lack of theatres due to Raazi and Deadpool 2 in theatres, has pushed the film to June 1st. And what has Sonam to say about this?
REports are coming that Sonam is very happy that she and her brother are clashing at the box office and giving two treats on the same day for their Kapoor kandan fans. With Veere Di Wedding being a romantic emotional journey aiming A centres, Bhavesh Josh is a typical B-C centre movie. So the makers of the films feel that it is a healthy clash.
First Ever Pak Actress Makes Her Cannes Debut
Since last two days, pictures from Cannes Film Festival are shaking Indian internet users as our celebs poured all the hotness on the red carpet. After the return of Kangana Ranaut and Aishwarya Rai from Cannes, Sonam Kapoor took the beacon of fire.
While Indian hotties are charming the festival this way, a Pakistani actress who has shot to fame after acting in Shahrukh Khan’s film “Raees” is now making the most there. Mahira Khan is the one we’re talking about and this hot lady has walked the ramp for the first time, both for her and her country. With simple makeup and sleeveless outfits, Mahira tried to show both glamour and grace with her avatars.
While flaunting cleavages is the biggest fetish of the starlets walking Cannes red carpet, Mahira contained herself in not-so-revealing dresses because she knows about the backlash she has to face in the conservative society back home. But her saree look coupled with a backless blouse stood top, while her modern outfits also added sparkle.
Unfortunately, Mahira didn’t take enough from India earlier after politicians in Maharashtra threatened to destroy film sets and disrupt releases if Pak actors are given prominence here. She didn’t promote Raees.
Two Super Hits, But No Break For Director
Fortunately, few directors are able to get film after film even though their previous films are disasters. And there are those who delivered a blockbuster but still waiting for a hero or heroine to okay their storyline.
Despite delivering duds like Kesava and LIE, both the directors Sudheer Varma and Hanu Raghavapudi respectively are working with Sharwanand in their next. But surprisingly, a director who has delivered first hit of the year through Anushka’s Bhagamathie is yet to grab an offer. Yes, he’s none other than director turned choreographer Ashok.
Though Ashok’s debut film Pilla Zamindar with Nani is also a super hit, the director took years to get a project moving. After a lot of delays, finally, Bhaagamathie released and compensated the lack of entertainment at box office early this year. And then, there are no takers yet for Ashok and his scripts though he narrated some stories already to a few star heroes.
They say that Ashok lacks the narrative skills the likes of Vamsi Vakkantam and Hanu Raghavapudi are having. If one could impress with the narration, star heroes will do films no matter even if the story is hollow. Maybe Ashok should correct that aspect.
Trolls Attack On Aishwarya Rai’s Kiss
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan kissed her daughter Aaradhya on her lips cat Cannes, on the occasion of Mother’s day and she shared the same on her new Instagram account, quoting “LOVE YOUUNCONDITIONALLY Happiest Mama in the World”.
Many found it adorable and called it the purest love, but there are equal number of people who found it ‘gross’ and ‘inappropriate’. This argument is not new, but mixed reactions and trolls on internet are bringing out the same old discussion, which fail to prove its good or bad.
While many parents out there feel it weird to kiss their young ones on lips as kids at certain age, develop sexual awareness and kiss on their lips can be stimulating to them, many other parents too condemned kissing on kids’ lips at any age is not proper.
Therapists across the world too have different opinions on this issue, but almost all of them advise parents to stop kissing when it has to be. Trolls on Instagram went a bit extreme questioning Aishwarya’s sexual orientation and few even accused her of sexual abuse.
Mothers, irrespective of culture, share a lot of physical intimacy with kids, but a kiss alone cannot be stimulating if nothing else like tickling, bathing, hugging and cuddling can’t be, say few. Calling it inappropriate is different argument from asking the actress’s sexual orientation in this context, which is is ridiculously extreme and unacceptable.
There is a different argument, that Aish is imitating the western culture (wherein many parents kiss their teenage kids’ too) just for the photograph popularity and paparazzi.
Onscreen Pushpavalli Upset With Mahanati
“Mahanati” is one of the most liked films by majority of audience after “Baahubali”. It is in fact a great deal to find a place on screen in this film. Even a small role would make the actors feel like a historical experience in the years down the line. But how it pinches if one finds a prominent role in the film Mahanati but completely gets chopped off on editing table? Yes, it happened to Bindu Chandramouli. You may wonder who she is. But she bagged a pivotal role of Pushpavalli. In fact, there is only one scene where Gemini Ganesan confesses to Savitri that he has an affair with Pushpavalli. Other than that there was no scene where Pushpavalli was seen.
Bindu Chandramouli mentioned in social media- “It’s very disappointing to have known that the makers have decided to cut out the whatever little it is, the character of Pushpavalli (after dubbing) and also appearance of the character of her young daughter Rekha”.
So, this is understood that even the legendary actress Rekha who happened to be a daughter of Gemini Ganesan also had a place on screen but got deleted later.
What else can we do than feeling pity for the actress Bindu? Well, the makers can at least release those scenes as uncut bits on YouTube. A solace for the actress and a treat for the audience. On the other hand, there is another option for the makers to release the director’s cut (without deleted scenes) online.
Followed by this Bindu Chandramouli later posted, ” OMG! I moved on. I shared a personal post on my wall about my instant disappointment, which was a simple human instinct , and that has been used extensively in media to make news( friends have sent me links from reputed newspapers too). Some have even interpreted it differently.
FYI : I was never contacted or approached by anyone from media on this topic. I just want to clarify, I have nothing against the Mahanati team. They are the best I have worked with and I am not upset with any of them. It was just couple shots and not a big deal. Wish few websites stop misconstruing the posts/pics on my personal wall and let us all forget Pushpavlli. Mahanati is a classic and let’s just appreciate it.”
2AM Hearing In SC: Congress Decides to Stop Yeddyurappa
Karnataka election twists are not done yet. Governor Vajubhai Vala invited BJP leader Yeddyurappa to form the government and gave him 15 days to prove majority. Congress filed a plea in Supreme court against BS Yeddyurappa swearing-in tomorrow.
The petition is being heard from 2AM after Supreme court Chief justice Dipak Misra asked three-judge bench of justices AK Sikri, A Bobde and Ashok Bhushan to hear the case at 1AM. Congress filed this urgent petition shortly before midnight. For the second time, Supreme Court is holding an overnight hearing and it was in July 2015 for the first time to hear the last minute petition against execution of Yakub Memon, convicted in 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
Congress’s legal team head Abhishek Sanghvi readied his petition in case if Governor invites Yeddyurappa to form the government though the Congress-JD(s) has more numbers. BJP emerged as single largest with 105 lawmakers, but 7 short to form the government, while Congress got 78 seats and their alliance with JDS gives them 116 seats, enough to form the government.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala came down heavily on governor for giving a chance to BJP to ‘horse-trade’ time of 15 days. He alleged that Governor has subjugated the law and shamed the governor’s office. Janata Dal Secular leader HD Kumaraswamy called the governor’s act unconstitutional.
Karnataka: Guv Votes For Yeddyurappa, Gives 15 Days Time To Prove Majority
Ending deadlock in Karnataka over the split verdict, BJP’s CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa has been invited to form the government by the state Governor Vajubhai Vala. Governor has sent a letter to Yeddyurappa’s residence inviting him to sworn in as the new CM. With this, Yeddyurappa would sworn in as the new CM of Karnataka tomorrow (May 17, 2018), Thursday. He will take the oath tomorrow.
Governor has given 15 days time to Saffron party to prove the majority. With this, Yeddyurappa has comfortable time till May 29, 2018. As of now, Yeddyurappa has the support of 105 MLAs including one independent. He needs the support of 7 more MLAs to reach magic figure and thus sustain the government.
Earlier even before a formal announcement from the Governor’s office, BJP Karnataka’s tweet stating Yeddyurappa would take the oath as CM tomorrow had created huge stir.
On the whole, this is a major blow to Congress and JD(S) who are seeking opportunity to form the government considering the coalition with largest majority. Since this is contrary to what had happened in Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya, Congress and JD(S) are fuming over Governor.
Reacting on the development, Congress’ spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala wrote, “Vajubhai Vala denigrates the Governor’s office, tramples upon Constitution, abuses the law & acts as a BJP puppet. He chooses to serve his Master’s in BJP rather then serve the Constitution. As @BJPKarnataka informed in advance, orders come from BJP HQ then the sanctity of office”
All eyes are on what will be the future course of action from Kumaraswamy and Congress.

Yeddyurappa Swears-In as CM, SC Refuses To Stop
The Supreme Court has refused to stay the swearing-in of BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa in Karnataka. A bench of Justices AK Sikri, SA Bobde and Ashok Bhushan was specially convened at odd hours to hear the petition which challenges the Governor Vajubhai Vala’s communication to Yeddyurappa to be sworn in as CM.
Challenging Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision to invite BS Yeddyurappa to sworn-in as the next Chief Minister and allowing him to prove majority within 15 days, Congress senior leader and lawyer Abhishek Singhvi moved the Supreme Court on last night. A petition is filed by the Congress and JD(S) leaders against the Karnataka Governor’s decision late on Wednesday (May 16) and sought the hearing late in the night. At 1.15 AM, Supreme Court has decided to hear the Congress petition in the wee hours. At 2.15 AM, Supreme Court bench comprising justices AK Sikri, SA Bobde and Ashok Bhushan, have commenced hearing on the matter. Attorney General KK Venugopal, ASG Maninder Singh in court for hearing.
Abhishek Singhvi, representing Congress and JD(S), told the justices that BJP has 104 MLAs and Governor invited BS Yeddyurappa to form govt in “unconstitutional manner”. He said JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy with Congress has 116 MLAs. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing BJP and BS Yeddyurappa, retored saying no injunction can be issued to Governor.
Singhvi has raised the issue of Goa and how Congress was deprived to form the government in Goa despite being single largest party. He reminded that then SC had upheld government formation by BJP and asked to form the same norm now.
Responding on the case, the Supreme Court bench noted that it is necessary to peruse the letters dated May 15 and May 16 submitted by Yeddyurappa to Governor for claiming stake for government formation. The bench asked Attorney General KK Venugopal, appearing for the Centre and Yeddyurappa to produce these letters on next hearing tomorrow at 10.30 am. The court made it clear that its order allowing swearing-in and government formation by the BJP in Karnataka is subject to the outcome of the case before it.
It also issued notices to the Karnataka government and Yeddyurappa as it was clarified by senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi that he was appearing for three BJP MLAs — Govind M Karjol, C M Udasi and Basavaraj Bommai.
BSY Swears-In as 23rd CM of Karnataka
Meanwhile, BS Yedyurappa has sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Thursday morning. He has sworn-in as the new CM as the successor to the Congress CM Siddaramaiah. JD(S) and Congress leaders have staged protests across the state. Considering protests, forces have been deployed to ensure the swearing-in ceremony smoothly.
At the moment, all eyes are on what will be the Supreme Court’s verdict after perusal of the letters of MLAs of both teams – BJP and JD(S)-Congress.
