Rumours are part and parcel of the film industry but there are some gossips that always sounded like truths. One of such big story that always intrigued many film buffs during vintage times is the rumoured affair between Sobhan Babu and Jayalalitha.

Even now, many veterans in Tollywood believe that something went between these two for some years when they are starring in some films. So what is the truth about the affair? Lyricist and writer Aarudra’s wife Rama Lakshmi, whose explosive interview is shaking the internet, has given answers regarding that.

She said, “Sobhan Babu never had an affair with Jayalalitha as rumoured. They both are good souls. But with Sobhan’s wife not an attractive woman with fatso look, people linked him to Jayalalitha with whom he has done many films. But Sobhan Babu never wanted to cheat his wife, otherwise, she would have easily fallen for him”.

That clarifies that Sobhan Babu is a gentleman and never had any affair with anyone, not just Jayalalitha. A rare quality indeed if we have to believe the other stories (rumours) we hear about other stars.

Looks like a strange thing is happening with the film Mahanati. It is known fact that families in overseas prefer to watch many films in theaters based on ratings, reviews, ticket price and of-course weather. It cannot be ruled out that many of them watch films online pirated prints within days after film’s release. But it is heard that many Telugu families are heading to theaters to watch Mahanati, after they are done watching it online pirated one!

There seem to be different reasons for this miracle to happen. The family audience who watched the film online got an emotional connect and they want to watch the film again in theaters so that they can have every frame of a great film cemented in their hearts. The reason for this is that they know how the feel gets many times better if they watch the same film properly on big screen.

Many of them even feel that they are watching the film of ‘our own Savitri’ and her struggle during the end has moved them all. Some of them are are heading to theaters in a guilt of watching pirated version and showing their disrespect towards a great film made on Mahanati. Mahanati is a star forever as she alone could pull those piracy loving audience to theaters.

From a couple of days, even Tollywood is doing a lot of hungama around this lip kiss, whose promo is getting all the attention. But finally, it is found that the kiss is a fake one and there is nothing to talk about there.

Famous in TV circuits as Parvathi for her portrayal of Lord Shiva’s wife in a soap opera, actress Sonarika Badoria is not new to Tollywood. She has done films like Speedunnodu, Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam here. After the internet got exploded earlier when she shared her bikini picture shot from a top angle, this time her kissing scene did the ruckus.

The TV show, Prithvi Vallabh – Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi has seen Sonarika kissing her co-star Ashish Sharma. But actually the kiss is not visible in the promo and that happens to be a good old cheat shot. And then netizens started trolling both the actors for coming up with hot stuff on a show watched even by youngsters.

However, when the actors themselves revealed that there is no full-length lip kiss inside the serial as they didn’t want to do. Sonarika stated, “I kissed in a film, and felt uncomfortable to watch it when on the screen. That’s why we denied doing a lip kissing scene for this soap opera and makers agreed for that”.

So someone who has got hurt with Sonarika’s kissing could breathe easy now.

Indian actresses are competing with each other these days to dazzle at popular Cannes Film Festival with their glamour and hotness. Already we have seen the likes of Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Aishwarya Rai and Huma Qureshi flaunting the best of their curves in designer outfits. While Sonam Kapoor is going dazzle there tonight, here comes an interesting snippet.

Last year when Deepika walked the ramp, the whole world focused on the RK tattoo on the nape (backside) of her neck. While in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, she got those initials of the hero inked, but hasn’t got them removed even after the breakup. Whenever she exposes her open back with her hair tied up, this tattoo gets all the attention, but not this year.

With her marriage around the corner later this year, one wonders if Deepika got it removed through laser techniques or just covered it with makeup for the sake of Cannes. With that old tattoo missing on the red carpet, many of her fans felt delighted and looking forward to hearing that the missing will be permanent.

Even in the south, we have the likes of Nayantara (PD tattoo on her hand) and Samantha (You Tattoo on nape) who got inked while in love with someone else but haven’t got them removed even after they are with their present beaus.

“Mahanati” lived up to the name and also removed the myth again that stories without routine masala glamour and fights won’t work. And the film is running quite well at A centres in Telugu states.

According to numbers, Mahanati has posted bigger numbers than any other Telugu film at the box office right now in its last weekend (May 11th to 13th). The other two big films including Bharat Anu Nenu and Naa Peru Surya received huge shocker we have to see when it comes to multiplex theatres in big cities like Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vizag.

Running in 168 screens, Mahanati collected 2.8 crores nett in the last weekend from all the multiplexes, while Naa Peru Surya (82 screens) collected 1.09 crores nett, Bharat Anu Nenu (65 screens) made 63 lakhs nett and Mehbooba (83 screens) collected 51 lakhs nett on the said three days. This clearly shows how the film carved by Nag Ashwin got a terrific edge on all other Telugu films running right now at the box office.

Though Mahanati needs to collect more, it looks like the half a month holiday in place as Summer holidays will be over only on June 1st, the film got nice time to reap more. Let’s see how much final collection the film will post.

Veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao had directed classics such as Pushpaka Vimanam, Vichithra Sodarulu, Bhairava Dweepam, Aditya 369. In fact, not many know that he started his career as an assistant director to KV Reddy for the all-time classic film Mayabazar where he got chance to observe the acting prowess of Savitri.

In fact, the makers of Mahanati have cast Pelli Choopulu director Tharun Bhascker as Singeetam. Singeetam was shown in a crucial scene in the film where he couldn’t arrange glycerine for one particular shot where Savitri had to roll down tears only from one of her eyes. And this was naturally done by Savitri. This scene in the first half of the film has already got rave appreciation.

That is the bond between Singeetam and Savitri. However, Singeetam couldn’t take a picture with real Savitri then. The legendary director has now shared a picture of him with reel Savitri Keerthy Suresh and called this as his pic with Savitri. Certainly, no more compliments needed for Keerthy than this one compliment from such a talented and genius filmmaker Singeetam.

Sharing the pic, Singeetam wrote, “Lots of people are asking whether I have a photo with Savithri garu. At that time, no. But now, YES”.
