One of the most celebrated comedians in the country is not working for the silver screen, but he’s on TV. None other than Kapil Sharma is the man we are talking about. And from some time, his name is getting associated with some negative news too.

Recently a series of articles including some phone conversations of Kapil Sharma got published on an entertainment website, to support the arguments that the comedian is rude and also not so punctual. With his latest comedy show “Family Time With Kapil Sharma” taken off just after three-episodes, these rumours started flowing big time.

However, Kapil alleged that the so-called journalist is intentionally maligning his name and now sent him a legal notice. He demanded a legal notice from the journalist for such malicious stories and gave him seven days deadline to tender apology on the public domain. If the journalist failed to do so, the legal notice asked him to deposit 100 crores in Defense Fund. Kapil also revealed that the journalist blackmailed him and tried to extort Rs 25 lakhs to not expose those tapes.

What about Kapil’s new TV show anyway? He has issued a statement as follows.

“I think I need some me time and need to recuperate. I’ve been working too hard for too long. There is a lot in the pipeline and lot of new exciting projects, which I will talk about soon. The reality right now is that I have worked very hard and I love what I do. I just need some time off and I promise you that I will be entertaining you again, as that is what I thrive on”.

A brand new poster of the movie ‘Mahanati’ is released and it is one of those we are waiting for. The poster features actress Keerthy Suresh in ‘Mayabazar’ look and it is just fascinating that the poster takes you back to an era that was ruled by the evergreen actress Savitri.

This poster also gives hints that Keerthy will be seen in many more such avatars of Savitri which the common audience haven’t watched yet and it will be a delight.

A major credit should go to the director Nag Ashwin for coming up with some brilliant stuff and the artwork speaks volumes of behind the screen efforts.

The audio of ‘Mahanati’ is receiving a decent feedback and now all eyes are on May 9th as the film is scheduled to hit the screens.

It is not uncommon to use a line that goes like ‘heroine just fills up the glamour space’ or ‘glam doll role’ in many instances while writing or talking about our regional films. Naa Peru Surya turned out to be giving a literal sense to those lines in every possible scene.

We have many beautiful actresses, who are also great performers too in Telugu. But Naa Peru Surya actress Anu Emmanuel is not a great performer, yet. She seems to be the ‘latest craze’ of Tollywood that filmmakers usually go after until she acts with all the lead heroes, irrespective of the content and verdict of the films.

Talking about Naa Peru Surya, Anu Emmanuel undoubtedly looked just hot but failed to look like a true lover for whom our hero falls for. Her sleazy looks and single expression blank face failed to make an ‘impact’ really. While it is Allu Arjun’s show all the way, the love story part can be called a damp squib.

Looks like the girl who is on a signing spree, still got a lot of time to talk about her dream roles, like most of our heroines ask about playing Priyanka in Barfi or a Rani Mukherjee in Blind. Maybe she should be improving her acting and dancing skills than to rely on doll face and hot shows before it is too late. If she goes on doing the same for every film, heroes may not want to act with her and directors follow them.

In the wake of Nandamuri Balakrishna trying to take up directing “NTR”, even though under the supervision of some other expert director, it’s like a new challenge. And the challenge we are talking about is not for Balayya, but the one he has thrown to others.

If we take the likes of legendary seniors NT Ramarao and Krishna, they all have succeeded in directing movies. They succeed both as an actor and director. But surprisingly the next generation, the four pillars of Tollywood, Chiranjeevi, Balayya, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh never even spoke about direction.

Only Balayya has revealed that dream long back as he materialized Nartanasala but that was called off after Soundarya’s death. And the remaining three-star heroes never even directed a small ad or short film. Even in Bollywood, the present day biggies like Amir Khan and Ajay Devgan turned to direction recently, but Tollywood chaps are not even thinking about it.

Will the top three actors from the Big Four take up #BalayyaChallenge and get ready for a directorial debut any sooner? The likes of Raviteja and Allu Arjun also expressed their wish to direct films, but they always say, not right now but at a later point in time.

Allu Arjun’s patch-up with Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan seems to have not yielded desired results for his latest release Naa Peru Surya. Apparently. Mega fans have not fully supported Naa Peru Surya which is said to be shocking to Allu clan. Trade sources say there is a huge drop on Saturday which is a worrying trend for the film.

Allu Arjun and director Vakkantham Vamsi’s reluctance to talk to media before the film’s release have also said to have affected the openings. The film’s divide talk also said to be causing damage.

After Sri Reddy and Pawan Kalyan fiasco, when the entire mega family joined hands together including Pawan, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, many thought it would eventually help Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya in a big way. But shockingly, which isn’t the case.

If grapevine is anything to go by, even a section of mega fans haven’t watched Naa Peru Surya on the opening day in several districts. In fact, this is after Ram Charan attended the pre-release function of the film and expressed his bonding with Bunny. Even Pawan had hugged Allu Arjun and expressed his affection. Yet, nothing seems to have helped Bunny’s film on ground.

This once again shows that audiences are changing gradually and they would encourage a film only when there is a great content.

Ever since Nag Ashwin announced biopic on Mahanati Savitri, everybody thought it would be a tragic story. But after watching the teaser and other promotional videos released, it appears like the director has done extensive research since the childhood of the legendary actress. Her extravagant lifestyle and love life will be on focus. Savitri’s daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari is the one who helped the team with inputs from the memories that she cherished.

She shared some of them in her interview to a popular tabloid. Vijaya is excited about the film and is overwhelmed with pride. She recollects how her mother used to be strict. “Her stare was enough to scare us. Our studies used to be her first priority. She insisted us to learn Tamil literature. She wouldn’t tolerate mistreating maids. We all used to eat and play together. Every day was like a festival for us,” said Vijaya.

Talking about Savitri’s culinary skills, she said, “Amma was fond of cooking. She liked non-veg very much, she used to cook crab really delicious. She once made KFC like Chicken in those days itself. It was after my marriage, she learnt the recipe and made it for me.”

From the last two days, more and more hotties are doing hungama in real at Telugu towns as they are busy with their side business. Despite hot summer clouding Telugu states, these hotties are not caring about the hot sun but flaunting their charms for the onlookers.

Despite this being a very hot summer, some shops are arranging their inauguration functions and inviting star heroines. Today the people the Proddutur in Anantapur district got excited as milky siren Tamanna graced their town for a mobile store opening. On a whole, Telugu film hotties are heating up Telugu towns and cities with their charms.

Many of our star heroes also have dreams of expanding their market to other Southern states, as heroes like Vikram and Surya have minted money for their dubbed films here, many a time. While Allu Arjun is somewhat successful in gaining stardom in Malayalam, Mahesh’s attempt in doing so with Spyder turned a big failure.

Looks like Prabhas is prone to fall into the similar pit, where Mahesh fell in with Spyder. Mahesh Babu and Murugadoss’s combination raised expectations, but the film totally failed to live up to them due to a weak story and making, the main reason behind Telugu audience disowning the film is because of star cast, purely dominated by Tamil actors.

Now, if we have to look at Prabhas’s Saaho star cast revealed so far, most of them are from Bollywood like Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Evelyn Sharma and Mandira Bedi, probably to make huge business in Non-Telugu versions. No doubt Bollywood market is big, but neglecting Telugu audience for business is not a great move, that too after seeing what happened to Spyder.

Another observation from fans and film enthusiasts is that these Bollywood actors are busy praising and mentioning Prabhas in most of their tweets and social media posts to make him more familiar with Bollywood audience. Overhype and non-Telugu star cast may be termed blunders of the movie fails to impress later.

Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu and now Naa Peru Surya – leave aside the box office collections, but the common factor between these three summer biggies is the towering performances of the lead actors. Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun have won accolades for their career best performances in the above three movies.

Naturally, the debate on the best actor among the three is on the rise. Ram Charan as Chitti Babu, Mahesh as CM Bharat and Allu Arjun as the angry soldier Surya – Who’s acting has made the lasting impact? Who will walk away with maximum marks for their acting?

Unanimously, public is giving a collective thumbs up for Ram Charan’s impeccable performance. Chitti Babu’s character is quite challenging to any actor as it has many shades and variations to it. Until Rangasthalam, Ram Charan hardly made an impression as an actor. But with Rangasthalam, he has stolen everyone’s hearts.

On the other hand, Bharat Ram in Bharat Ane Nenu and Surya in Naa Peru Surya progress on the same graph throughout the movie. This made Ram Charan stand out among the other two heroes and thus, he had also become the main factor behind the record breaking success of Rangasthalam.
