A Rape is a Rape, no Politics over issue: Modi

Share

London: With multiple rape cases of minor girls sparking nation-wide outrage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said there should be no politics over the issue. At the ‘Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath’ diaspora event in London, Modi said it’s painful when a small girl is raped.

“A rape is a rape. How can we tolerate this exploitation of our daughters?”But can we compare the number of rapes in different governments? We cannot say there were this many rapes in our government and that many in yours. There cannot be a worse way to deal with this issue,” he said.

Calling it the evil of not just the individual but also of the society, the Prime Minister said people need to teach their sons to treat girls with respect. He said the cases of rapes was a cause of concern for the whole nation and one should remember that the one “committing the sin” is someone’s son.

“That’s why I presented this issue from the Red Fort in a new way. I had said that if a daughter comes late, parents ask where had she gone and why. Whom did she meet?”Everyone asks their daugthers, but you should also ask your sons where had they been,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came as his government faced criticism for increasing incidents of rapes of minors especially after an 8-year-old girl was gang-raped and killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district.

Sri Reddy- Abhiram Issue : Suresh Babu’s Version

Share

Ace producer and studio owner Suresh Babu’s version over his son’s alleged “intimate” pics with controversial actress Sri Reddy. Suresh Babu, who has been tight-lipped about this much talked about topic, seems to have broken his silence to controversial director Ram Gopal Varma.

RGV said he has spoken to Suresh Babu and shared Suresh Babu’s version on the issue in his latest video post.

“Suresh Babu has told me that law will take its own course. He said if his son Abhiram is found guilty, let law punish him and if his son is found innocent, let it be. Suresh Babu told that he doesn’t want to involve in the issue and let law decide,” RGV told in his video post.

However, RGV expressed his suspicion that Suresh Babu’s family wouldn’t be okay with it since his family’s reputation is also at stake. Thanks to RGV, Suresh Babu’s version is now out over Abhiram-Sri Reddy issue. One must appreciate Suresh Babu for taking a neutral side and expressing faith on legal system instead of condemning Sri Reddy’s allegations.

Baahubali Took Us To Heights, You’re Bringing Down

“I’m not denying that there are no such issues in Tollywood which are being talked about. But their existence is very less. And my magnifying it to a bigger level on television, what are you trying to achieve” asks Allu Arvind, as he joins the list of mega gang who are now coming out to condemn Sri Reddy’s abuses on Pawan Kalyan.

Breathing fire on the way debates are going on Telugu TV channels, Allu Arvind spoke his heart out at “Taxiwala” teaser launch event. He stated, “Six months ago Baahubali made us all proud and brought us a worldwide acclaim. But now, Telugu industry is getting insulted by talking about those issues, trivial issues, with motor mouths. Those debating people are projecting that as a huge crime and bringing our pride down. Don’t come on to roads and insult the industry”.

Arvind requested both media houses and those debating agitators to not create an unwanted fuss with their daily soap opera on TV channels.

However, it would have been good if a biggie like Arvind who is known to be one of that ‘Aah Naluguru’ openly spoke a bit about the Casting Couch and what are their plans to approach it to tackle. But just asking everyone to not create a scene is like evading the whole issue. A crime is a crime no matter how big or small it is.

Sri Reddy Row : Vishnu Attacks MAA

Share

Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu, who had earlier played quite active role in MAA since its inception and even played key role during South Indian Film Chambers of Commerce’s Indian Cinema’s centenary celebrations (100 years celebrations) in Chennai in 2013, has now blasted the present Movie Artistes Association headed by Sivaji Raja. In an open letter to addressed to the MAA, Vishnu has teared into MAA’s ‘haphazard’, ‘unilateral’ decisions in the Sri Reddy row.

Vishnu wrote, “The recent episode involving a nonmember (read as Sri Reddy) with MAA has puzzled me. Due to the allegations made by her, you along with few other members in an urgently called press meet suddenly announced that 900 members of the Association shall boycott her by not acting with her. Good; but in the 900 members are my respected Father, my brother, my sister and me included? As an Actor/Producer, it is my prerogative who I want to act with. You cannot dictate terms. Subsequently, there has been a large outburst by her on individuals, families, film establishments and the whole Telugu Industry itself. Surprisingly, within no time, the decision to boycott her was revoked by you in a large press meet. Such actions have shown MAA negatively and with the top media networks across India and the world have made a mockery of MAA. Because of your actions, we have been embarrassed Nationally!”

Vishnu further demanded, “First get the guidelines in MAA set, on who can have memberships. Even the Production/Dance/Fight unions and many of our 24 Crafts have strict and proper guidelines. Most of the local actors who are popular are not MAA members; and I am allowed to act with them?”

“With allegations of exploitation of women and men in the name of our film industry making unpleasant news now, the Film Chamber must setup a grievance cell not just MAA. Producers/Directors/Writers/Managers have all been named; MAA cannot be a single party to this. Restrain is needed in matters like this; not knee-jerk reactions.”

On concluding note, Vishnu sought a reply to his letter. “Your answer in this regard is solicited as this questions the democratic fabric of the Association itself.”

No Cash in ATMs, 2000 Notes Only To Help Hoarders

Share

Responding to the burning issue of cash crunch in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, poll-bound Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh where ATMs in several parts are running out of cash, former finance minister P Chidambaram said the “ghost” of demonetisation has come back to haunt the government and alleged that the Rs 2,000 notes were printed only to help hoarders.

In a scathing attack against Modi-led NDA which had implemented “Demonetisation”, Chidambaram also said there was a possibility that people have lost confidence in the banking system due to the “bank scams” and they were not putting their surplus money into the banks.

“The ghost of demonetisation has come back to haunt the Govt/RBI. Why are ATMs still being re-calibrated even 17 months after demonetisation? After demonetising 500 and 1000 rupee notes, Govt printed Rs 2000 notes! Now, Govt is complaining that Rs 2000 notes are being hoarded!! We always knew that Rs 2000 notes were printed only to help hoarders,” Chidambaram shot back.

Dismissing the statement of the Reserve Bank of India that there was no shortage of currency in the system as “unsatisfactory”, the senior Congress leader said if the RBI has printed and supplied sufficient cash, it must explain why there is a cash shortage.

“I also suspect that RBI seriously miscalculated demand for cash in the post-harvest season. Is it correct that currency in circulation has increased by only 2.75 per cent since demonetisation? If so, I maintain that Govt/RBI are not allowing money supply to grow at the same rate as the nominal GDP,” he said.

Chidambaram said he suspected ordinary people were withdrawing cash but not putting back into the banks their surplus cash. “It is possible that there is some loss of confidence in the banking system, thanks to the bank scams,” he said. He said he supported the digitisation, but the government cannot force the pace of digitisation or arbitrarily reduce the supply of cash.

Unusual spurt in demand for currency had led to many ATMs and banks running out of cash in AP, Telengana, Karnataka, MP and UP and some other states. While the government and the RBI assured the public that there was no currency shortage, the situation on ground is totally different.

Jr Bachchan Trolled For ‘Still Living With Parents’

Share

Film stars falling prey to trolling on social media is nothing new. But often, stars give it back to their trolls to shut them up. In a latest incident, a young girl made a futile attempt to troll Abhishek Bachchan and paid the price for her insensitive comment.

The girl took to Twitter, had the audacity to tag Abhishek Bachchan, and said, “Don’t feel bad about your life. Just remember @juniorbachchan still lives with his parents. Keep hustling everyone!” The Junior Bachchan retorted with an epic reply.

Abhishek said, “Yes! And it’s the proudest moment for me to be able to be there for them, as they have for me. Try it sometime, you might feel better about yourself.” Needless to say, the young girl was taken aback by the actor’s stern reply. Many fans, including several girls, criticised the lady for her nonsensical tweet.

Meanwhile, another girl wondered why Abhishek gives attention to people whose sole aim is to seek attention. “Sometimes, they need to be put in place,” replied the Bachchan junior. The 42-year-old actor continues to live with his legendary parents Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, along with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aradhya, at the Bachchans’ bungalow, Jalsa.

Bharat Should Beat Rangasthalam At Any Cost

Share

All these days film analysts are opining that “Bharat Anu Nenu” will register records that are bigger than “Rangasthalam” owing to the big release happening for the Mahesh starrer. But the sentence should be put this way it’s not about beating Rangasthalam, Bharat has to beat it at any cost.

Despite the fact that Mahesh Babu’s previous two films are duds at the box office, his craze as a superstar is endless. Adding to that, director Koratala Siva hasn’t delivered a flop so far and his social message oriented masala films are clicking big time. With all these factors around, Bharat Anu Nenu made a pre-release business of 100 crores literally.

While Telugu states along bought the theatrical rights of Bharat Anu Nenu for 72 crores, Overseas fetched 18+ crores and rest of India pumped another 10 crores. That means the film got sold for 100+ crores and it should get 100 crores ‘shares’ to paddle all the distributors to safe shores.

Though Rangasthalam made 105+ crore shares already, the film’s theatrical business is around 80+ crores only and all parties involved in it witnessed profits in record time. So for Bharat to make the same, beating Rangasthalam is mandatory. Bharat Anu Nenu opens in theatres tomorrow.

Leaked Phone Call: Sri Reddy About Pawan, YSRC, RGV & 5 Cr Deal

Share

The Sri Reddy scandal is taking shocking twists and turns with each passing day. What started off as a one-woman show by the controversial actress has now taken a totally political route.

A leaked audio clip of a recent phone conversation between Sri Reddy and transgender-actress Tamanna has revealed some startling revelations which are no less than crime thriller. The conversation took place after Sri Reddy faced an all-round attack for calling Pawan Kalyan a “Ma****od”.

Sri Reddy told Tamanna that it was RGV who had asked her to blast Pawan. In a shocking revelation, Sri Reddy said RGV had asked her to “go there and they will give you 5 crores.” Sri Reddy also blamed the YSRCP for ganging up with RGV and trying to trap her.

Sri Reddy assured Tamanna that the TDP will soon involve in the issue and that she will wait until the party comes to her, offering support. “I won’t kill my revolution. It’s my baby. I will take it to Delhi. You just wait and watch,” Sri Reddy told Tamanna.

Targeting Pawan, Sri Reddy said that she will fight against the Janasena president till her last blood drop. “I will see how he will win (in the elections),” she said. She also accused the chief editor of a popular Telugu news channel who has been a huge pillar of support to her of playing a game for his TRPs. As of now, Sri Reddy’s gameplan is to take rest for 2 days before bouncing back.

Selfie: Bunny’s First Personal Picture With Anu

Share

Finally Bunny clicked a sweet selfie with his heroine Anu Emannuel after the film’s shoot is complete.

Usually the actors of the films these days pour in a lot of selfies from shooting spots as a part of promoting their films and due to an irresistible obsession to share it on social media. But Allu Arjun clicked his first selfie with Anu after the last shot of Naa Peru Surya is done with, only because the first and last thing she asked for was a SELFIE.

He posted the picture on his Instagram account quoting these words along “alluarjunonline: The first and the last thing my actress Anu Emmanuel ever asked for was a SELFIE . Soo Sweet. My First Personal Picture with my Actress Anu Emmanuel after the Last Shot of the shoot @anuemmanuel”

I Made Sri Reddy Call Pawan A Ma****od, I Apologise: RGV

Share

Finally, the cat is out of the bag. Ram Gopal Varma, who has been quite eloquent and supportive of Sri Reddy ever since the beginning of the casting couch scandal, has finally apologised to Pawan Kalyan.

In a 15 minute long video message which he released last night, RGV said that it was him who provoked Sri Reddy to attack Pawan and call him a “ma****od”. “I thought it would be quite effective if a girl like Sri Reddy blasts Pawan using the famous M word in Arjun Reddy’s style. Sri Reddy got convinced and followed me blindly,” RGV added.

The eccentric filmmaker went on to tender an apology to Pawan Kalyan and all others who are concerned and said that Sri Reddy has nothing to do with the issue. RGV had to come out with his clarification as POW Sandhya revealed in a live TV debate that she had proofs of RGV asking Sri Reddy to verbally attack Pawan.

Untill last night, Pawan’s fans have been attacking Sri Reddy for using filthy language against Pawan. At one point, a deeply distraught Sri Reddy even threatened to commit suicide, unable to cope with the pressure. Now, everyone is attacking RGV. One wonders when will all this ugly mess come to an end.
