It looks like Hero Ravi Teja is going on a totally different track for his future projects. After finishing Nela Ticket and Amar Akbar Anthony, he will join hands with talented director VI Anand for an interesting project.

As per the source in the know, VI Anand has impressed Ravi Teja with his trademark variety script. Apparently, this film is named as Disco Raja. Going by the title, one can expect an out and out mass entertainer from the Mass Maharaja.

VI Anand was rumored to have been in talks to direct Allu Arjun’s next, but looks like the project didn’t fall into place. Ram Talluri, who’s producing Ravi Teja’s Nela Ticket, will be producing Disco Raja as well. The film will take off in June and release by early next year.

After a few experiments, Mega hero Varun Tej found his true calling in love stories. His last two movies ‘Fidaa and Tholi Prema’ were huge blockbusters. He’s again experimenting with a science fiction movie under Ghazi’s director Sankalp Reddy’s direction.

Recently, Varun Tej’s next film was announced under Sagar Chandra’s direction. Sagar received critical acclaim for his period drama ‘Appatlo Okadundevadu’. And he’s continuing the same period formula for Varun Tej’s film too, as per our sources.

Apparently, the Varun Tej-Sagar Chandra movie will be a love story and it will have two time periods, Pre-independent India and 2018. Varun will be essaying dual roles in the movie. While one character belongs to the period era, the other hails from the 2018 time period. 14 Reels Plus banner is going to take the movie on floors from late summer.

In a very low key event, India’s richest son Akash Ambani engaged to his long time family friend Shloka Mehta. Akash, eldest son of wealthiest business magnet of the country – Mukesh Ambani, proposed to Shloka Mehta, youngest daughter of Rosy Blue Diamonds head Russell Mehta in a small family event.

For past few days, there has a been many speculations that Akash will marry Shloka in December later year. But, no one from both the families have confirmed about it.

Both Ambani and Mehta families have known each other from several years and Akash & Shloka Mehta studied together at Dhirubhai Ambani International School. The news of engagement became official after Nita Ambani posted few pictures of Akash proposing Shloka in a small event in Goa. While Akash was seen in a simple blue blazer, Shloka looked charming in a white shiny gown. The event was attended by Mukesh’s mother Kokilaben and other close family members.

Recently, during a heated live debate with actor Posani Krishna Murali on the AP special status issue, a Telugu news channel’s editor crossed the line and went on to make some derogatory comments on the women in Tollywood. These comments went viral on social media.

Naturally, several Tollywood female actors and filmmakers, including a few male actors belonging to the Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA), took offense to the comments made by the News Editor. They approached the Jubilee Hills police station and filed a complaint against the editor.

Actresses Jhansi, Hema and director Nandini Reddy and senior actors Shivaji Raja, Uttej, Banerjee and others filed the complaint and urged the cops to take immediate action. Speaking with the media, the actors condemned the baseless allegations on female actors and technicians and demanded an end to the menace.

Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam is facing a major challenge in the United States. The discontinuation of Movie Pass is posing a big threat to the huge aspirations of the trade on Rangasthalam.

It is well-known that Movie Pass accounts for 85 to 90 per cent of the overall revenue of the Telugu films running in the US. However, abuse of Movie Pass, several complaints, allegations over misuse of Movie Pass has upset the top executives of Movie Pass who have of late cutting down the number of Telugu, Indian films under Movie Pass.

This is resulting in steep downfall in the Box Office figures of our films. Naga Shaurya’s Chalo was the last Telugu film to enjoy the advantage of the Movie Pass for the initial run. Subsequently, it also received the heat of the discontinuation of the Movie Pass. Films such as Nikhil’s Kirrak Party have lost big in the US over the discontinuation of the Movie Pass.

Although Sukumar has a great following in the US and his films have registered good figures in the US earlier and even Ram Charan’s Dhruva managed to join 1 Million USD club, the situation today in the US is totally different due to discontinuation of Movie Pass.

The makers of Rangasthalam are breaking their heads now on how to pull this off in the US as this is prestigious film for Charan and their banner. Also, the US distributors who have bet huge on the film are keeping their fingers crossed.
