With Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday accepting the resignations of five MPs belonging to YSR Congress party, it has virtually lost its representation in the Lower House.The five MPs – Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy from Nellore, P Mithun Reddy from Rajampet, V Varaprasad Reddy from Tirupati, Y Avinash Reddy from Kadapa and Y V Subba Reddy from Ongole, will cease to hold the posts once the Speaker officially accepts their resignations which they had submitted on April 6.

Technically speaking, the YSRC still has three MPs left in Lok Sabha- Kurnool MP Butta Renuka, Nandyal MP SPY Reddy and Araku MP Kothapalli Geetha.Though they quit the party, they did not resign from their MP seats. Renuka and SPY are in TDP, while Geetha’s political fate hangs in balance. In LS records, they continue to be YSRC MPs.

While getting their resignations accepted, the YSRC MPs also submitted a petition to the Speaker seeking disqualification of the three MPs.”They cannot continue as YSRC MPs, as they defected to other party. Since resignation from MP seats is a party decision, they should either resign from their seats or should be disqualified from their membership,” the MPs said.

The five YSR Congress Party MPs’ final meeting with Lok Sabha speaker Sumithra Mahajan regarding their resignation has ended a little while ago. These MPs have submitted their resignations on April 6th, on the final day of budget session, and later reaffirmed about their stand.

As per the early reports, speaker Mahajan is likely to accept the resignations of MPs after they have reconfirmed that she has to accept it as Centre denied ‘Special Category Status’ for Andhra Pradesh. In the past, the MPs of YSRCP have exuded confidence that they are ready to contest and win by-polls if speaker approves their resignation. But, political pundits are doubtful about the by-election as general election-2019 will take place in less than 12 months from now.

However, TDP leaders have rubbished the speaker’s approval as a joint drama by BJP-YSRCP and stated that it will make no difference in state. Also, the by-election for these 5 constituencies is unlikely to take place. However, the Central Election Commission will decide it after speaker approves their resignations.

Lokesh also turning rhetoric and making statements such as Karnataka result is just “trailer” for the BJP and the “picture abhi baaki hai” for BJP are winning the hearts of masses. Lokesh said that the film would be out in 2019 with its results.

Step-by-step, Lokesh is improving which is also making TDP leaders happy. However, Lokesh himself made it clear that Chandrababu Naidu is their leader and he will be the CM in 2019 as well. Lokesh said Naidu would continue to be the CM of AP.

In an unfortunate incident, fight erupted over biryani has claimed the valuable life of a man. The shocking incident took place in West Bengal when the owner of an eatery has demanded money from his customers who refused to pay bill after eating Biryani at his eatery joint.

According to reports, four persons had eaten biryani each costing Rs 190 per plate. When the owner of the eatery joint asked money, it said to have turned into fight leading one of the four men to kill the owner. The owner Sanjay Mondal was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead. This incident was reported in 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

Accused Mohammad Firoz has been arrested by cops and an FIR has been lodged against him. Although cops suspect that the shooting was provoked by fight over the price of biryani, cops are probing the matter and are investigating whether there is any possible motive behind the killing.

Victim’s brother has named the customers who allegedly initiated the fight and said the victim’s family is living in terror. “Firoz shot my brother. There were four people: Raja, Firoz, Mogri and Salman. They are hooligans. We all are very scared and don’t know how to run our business peacefully,” grief-stricken Sanjay’s brother told media.

He demanded that an enquiry be held into this which will unravel the truth.He further added that a stock analyst was brought in as the deputy chairman of state planning board, using him as the go-to person alleged Narasimha Rao. Since this is not a business dealing, such moves will not bear any results, said GVL.

Former Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram, who recently floated a new regional party Telangana Jana Samithi, seems to be very confident of facing the elections on his own.Though there has been tremendous pressure from his own party leaders that the TJS should have a tie-up with the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party, Kodandaram is said to have rejected all their suggestions.

“Let us establish ourselves an independent political party with a serious political agenda. We are not like conventional political parties which do not have the background of a people’s movement. We shall have our own identity and let us not play second fiddle to any other party,” he reportedly told the party cadre.

Sources close to Kodanda said though the TRS came to power in 2014 as an “Udyama Party” (party born out of a movement for separate state), it has lost the touch with the people associated with the movement the moment he disowned the TJAC.“While common people, students, farmers and employees who worked in the TJAC continue to be our strength, even those in the TRS having the background of the people’s movement are likely to return our fold. That would be our plus point,” he reportedly told them.

However, another section of the TJS feels that Kodanda is over-confident and he cannot match the political manipulations of TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.“If the TJS fights the elections alone and contests all the seats, it will only benefit the TRS ultimately,” this section is arguing.
