Apparently, the mood and hype in Telugu states at the moment is like all the roads leading to Pawan Kalyan only. While political analysts are feeling that all these brickbats blasted on the Janasena president are tarnishing his image, cinema lovers are finding a silver lining in this happening, however.
Till a couple of days back, the issue of copyright allegations from a Bollywood producer as kept Pawan Kalyan’s latest movie Agnyaathavaasi in the limelight. Despite the film’s trailer unreleased and no official promotions happening, this single of piece of news went like a TV serial and created super hungama. Then we have Mahesh Kathi shooting some logical and also illogical punches all the time on Pawan Kalyan, thereby giving free publicity to Agnyaathavaasi indirectly.
And then, with this critic dragging Poonam Kaur into the issue, it only added more food to people discussing the film. At the same time, with a couple of TV channels intensifying their debate against PK through MK, some channels started exclusive telecasts of Agnyaathavaasi related cake-cuttings and car-rallies that are taking place in the USA and other European countries.
Even if Trivikram and his producer Radha Krishna spent a hefty amount, they wouldn’t have got such an enormous publicity. While the outer may look like all these comments and happenings attacking Pawan, on the inner side they are helping build up Agnyaathavaasi hype big time.
During last Sankranthi, we have both Khaidi No. 150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni carrying the same buzz, but now with all these happenings, Agnyaathavaasi is walking away with more weight than Jai Simha and other releases.
The Centre on Monday took a surprising U-turn from its stance of playing the National Anthem before the start of a movie in cinema halls across the country. The Union govt. told the Supreme Court that it is not mandatory to play National Anthem in theatres anymore.
In an affidavit submitted to the Apex court on Monday, the Centre requested the Court to modify its order that makes National Anthem mandatory in cinema halls. The government further informed the court that an Inter-Ministerial Committee has been set up to frame new guidelines on the issue, and that the final decision will be based on the committee’s recommendations. Six months time was sought by the Centre for completing the entire exercise.
The Centre has now made its stance clear in response to the Supreme Court’s earlier order dated, October 23, 2017. The Supreme Court then said that standing for National Anthem in theatres was not a measure of patriotism, and asked the Centre to come up with a response in that regard by January 2018.
