When the teaser of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s “Odiyan” was released two weeks ago, people were surprised at his stunning transformation. He looked at least 15 years younger to his present age, 57. The ‘Complete Actor’ has shared a video byte on the eve of New Year to wish his fans, and his new look is completely unbelievable. He looks as if he is in his early 30s.
He has lost oodles of weight and looks unbelievably younger. This transformation is to play Young Manickan in “Odiyan”. The 57-year-old actor’s strenuous hard work to meet the physical requirements of the character that he is gong to essay, deserves huge applause. Keeping everything about the film aside, Mohanlal’s hardwork itself looks a huge reason to watch Odiyan.
Naa Peru Surya First Impact: Allu Arjun as Angry Soldier
The wait is over! Allu Arjun’s thunderous first glimpse as Surya from Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India has been unveiled. It is completely Allu Arjun’s show as Surya who essays the role of a Soldier.
Characterization
Arjun looks terrific as Surya, an angry soldier who has no-holds-barrier anger and cares nobody. He has a devil-may-care attitude that steals the show. At times, Surya even defies his superiors for a cause. His strength & weakness is his anger.
Performance
Bunny got under the skin of the soldier’s role so well. He breathes life into the role of Solider Surya. His actions, his behaviour, body language, dialogues are all in sync. The hard work and toil that went into building a fit body is visible on screen. His stunning feats too aver the same. First time, a huge star of this age – Allu Arjun – has delved into the role of a full-fledged army soldier. One can’t help but appreciate him for choosing such a role and performing so exceptionally.
Analysis
The teaser primarily focus on Allu Arjun’s role. It aims to convey us who is he, what is his role and how he is going to behave. And what are the circumstances that come his way have been kept under the wraps. There is a good dose of emotion. His interaction with his Godfather (Rao Ramesh), his dareness, dedication to even sacrifice his life for country say it all how patriotic Surya is going to be. Vakkantham Vamsi’s fire to prove himself as director is visible in every frame. His passion, commitment could be seen, felt in the First Impact.
However, the film is not completely serious film. Surya has a love story. It is Anu Emmanuel. As usual, Anu revs up the glam quotient. Visuals are striking. The cinematographer deserves a pat on back. Stunt director needs special mention. Background music is thumping, great job by duo Vishal-Shekhar. Looks like, Naa Peru Surya is going to be a perfect Summer treat.

Malayalam Superstar in YSR Biopic?
Telugu film industry has recently picked up the trend of Biopics as the makers can have the advantage of curiosity factor, hype, controversies (could be intentional or unavoidable) and some other factors. Following the biopics on Sr NTR, Savithri, Pullela Gopichand, Telugu audience might soon see the biopic on YSR, late CM of united UP.
Actually, the idea of a biopic on YSR originated a few years ago itself, but the project couldn’t shape up due to the political turmoil in the state, and also because of the potential controversies it can engulf in. The current buzz is that the YSR biopic is being revived.
Young director Mahi Raghav, who scored a decent success with the horror comedy, “Anando Brahma”, has reportedly completed the script work for YSR biopic, and that he awaits the permission from Jagan and other concerned people. The makers plan to make an official announcement after procuring permission from Jagan, who is currently busy with Padayathra.
It is heard that Malayalam Superstar Mammootty is in talks to reprise YSR in his biopic. He is being offered a huge sum to make him step into the shoes of the late CM. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the biopic, which will reportedly glorify YSR, releases before the 2019 AP Assembly elections.
PM Modi’s Dec 31st Speech Became A Joke
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” that was aired other day (December 31st Sunday) became a joke of sorts. This is because PM claimed one of his achievements for Muslim women, which sounded like a mere joke, but that’s not his achievement at all.
Every year, many Muslims from India go to Haj Pilgrimage that is carefully looked after by the government. Surprisingly, women cannot go alone on this pilgrimage without the presence of a male companion. Talking about this PM Modi stated that he got shocked after finding such a barbaric rule in place and claimed that after 70 years of Independence he got that rule relaxed to help his Muslim sisters.
In reality, a Woman travelling to Haj should actually be accompanied by a man, a close relative (Mehram) is a rule set by Saudi Arabia. No country could break it because they won’t receive those women without a mehram at airport and deport them back.
But now, after the recent change in the monarchy in the desert country, they are seen moving towards moderate-Islam rather a strict conservative one. In that process, Saudi now relaxed rules and stated that women travelling in a group of more than 45 members to Mecca need not have a male companion. But they should carry an attested copy of a consent letter signed by father or brother or son.
Now, what is that PM Modi has done to claim that India will now allow Women Haj Pilgrims to travel without a male companion when Saudi’s new rule is the real thing? Asking the same question, netizens are commenting, “PM Modi told a perfect last joke for 2017”.
Pic Of The Year 2017: Just No Words
Fourteen people were killed and 55 injured when a fire sparked at 1Above and Mojo Bistro resto-bars in the third floor of a building in Kamala Mills compound, Mumbai couple of days ago.
Young girls and boys celebrating birthdays and reunions are killed by the fire. Had there been a proper exit for the building, fire extinguishers in place and infrastructure built without flouting norms, this accident would have been avoided.
What is stunning is that couple of security guards of a media firm and a constable braved the fire and rescued many. Especially 35-year-old Sudarshan Shinde, a constable with Mumbai Police, has risked his life to save nearly 8 girls stuck in a bathroom and almost fallen unconscious due to billowing smoke.
And now, a picture of him caught rescuing a girl is doing rounds everywhere which is making all speechless. Isn’t this the real most inspiring picture? Isn’t this the Pic Of The Year 2017?

First look: Rana Daggubati’s Haathi Mere Saathi
After terrifying us with his snarly performance as Bhalladheva in Baahubali 2, Rana Daggubati is out to make friends with Earth’s largest land-dwelling animal in his next movie.
Haathi Mere Saathi, helmed by Tamil director Prabhu Solomon, has him be pally with an elephant in the movie.Though the title will remind you the yesteryear classic starring Rajesh Khanna, reports say that it won’t be a remake of this film but will pay a tribute to the same.
The makers have released the first look of the movie and it has Rana pose with his elephant pal, with the latter’s trunk on his shoulder.
Rana is looking quite different here with his new haircut and beard style, while also looking slimmer (compared to his bulky countenance in Baahubali 2).
His long-sleeved coarse black shirt gels well with the overall ambiance and gives him that rugged mahout look.His character is called Bandev in the movie.

The surprise is here. The look of Shriya Saran and Vishnu Manchu, who play adorable couple in forthcoming film Gayatri, has been divulged. Shriya is looking gorgeous, whereas Vishnu essays the role of a doting husband who helps his better-half in daily chores and combing her hair.
After an intense look of Mohan Babu in the first look of Gayatri, this family look of Vishnu, Shriya indicate that there is a lot more in the film besides action – i.e drama, family elements, humour.
Apparently, Mohan Babu will be seen in titular role as he will play both the hero and baddie in the film. Madan, of Pellaina Kothalo, is wielding the megaphone. Produced by Mohan Babu himself, the film is all set to hit the marquee on Feb 9.
