Heroine Keerthy Suresh has got under the skin of Savitri role so well in upcoming Mahanati such that she has gifted gold coins to the team members of the film. In fact, original Savitri used to gift gold coins to the members of her movie team in her times. Following her Keerthy too repeated the act.

It is been eight months Keerthy has stepped into the shoes of Savitri and she got so involved into Savitri’s character such that she voluntarily gifted gold coins to Mahanati members. At a time, not even many would share their food on the sets, Keerthy offering gold coins to her team members come as a big surprise and it showed her generous nature.

Keerthy Suresh made a strong impact in Tollywood with Nenu Sailaja. She was recently seen in Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi and Suriya’s Gang. With juggling in multiple languages, Keerthy is on a roll. As of now, she is pinning high hopes on this Telugu-Tamil bilingual Mahanati. Dulquer Salman will be seen opposite Savitri where he essays the role of Gemini Ganesan. The film is being directed by Nag Ashwin, of Yevade Subramanyam fame.

So if anyone is feeling that Agnyaathavaasi effect will slow down trade, then it is just a trash.

As long as the distributors are coming forward to pour huge on star heroes, surely makers are going to touch the sky with their demands. And there is a mechanism to check it because cinema business is a guess-market with success coming randomly.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan seems to have become a box office behemoth in China. After his last film, ‘Dangal’ did a phenomenal business there (almost $200 million in full run), his new release, ‘Secret Superstar’ is performing even better.

Secret Superstar was released in China this Friday, and the film opened at No.1 position at Chinese box office, collecting a huge $6.86 million. The reviews for the film were exceptional, even better than Dangal’s, and the same reflected on Saturday.

The film saw a massive jump in collections on its Day 2, Saturday, collected a mindblowing $10.45 million. The two days total reached to a phenomenal $ 17.31 million [Rs 110.52 Cr]. Trade analysts and movie ticket booking websites in China predict the Sunday collections to he much higher than Saturday’s.

Astonishingly, ‘Secret Superstar’ in China crossed its full run collections in India in flat two days, an incredible feat by any measure. The film is doing this sensational business even though Aamir played only a special role. Zaira Wasim, the girl who made her debut with ‘Dangal’, was the protagonist of Secret Superstar.

Going at this rate, Secret Superstar will most likely break the full run record of Dangal, which minted $200 million in China.

Senior hero Venkatesh has become the most accepting Tollywood hero when it comes to multistarrers. After acting with Mahesh, Ram and Pawan, Venky will next be seen in a multistarrer with Varun Tej (F2: Fun & Frustration). If the latest reports are anything to go by, Venky has given his nod for yet another multisstarrer.

It is known that Venky’s new film will be directed by Teja. Even though the film was launched long back, the commencement of regular shoot has been getting delayed due to reasons best known to the team.

The latest we hear about this project is that young hero Nara Rohith has come on board to play the character of Venky’s ‘brother-in-law’ contrary to the rumors that have been widely circulating since this morning that he would play Venky’s ‘brother’. Venky will marry Rohith’s sister and Rohith will wed Venky’s sister. We have reported earlier that its a two-heroines project, tentatively titled, “Aata Naade Veta Naade”.

Senior hero Rajasekhar, who has recently made a sensational comeback with ‘Garuda Vega’, was the first choice of director Teja to play Venky’s brother-in-law. After the discussions with him failed, Teja approached Rohith and got his nod. This is the first film to feature Venky and Rohith together.

The regular shoot is expected to commence next month.
