Vijay’s Party Denies Reports of Joining NDA Alliance

Speculation about Vijay’s political plans has been circulating after reports claimed that Pawan Kalyan had advised him to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). However, leaders from Vijay’s party have strongly denied the reports.
Vijay, who recently launched his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has consistently stated that his party will contest all seats in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections independently, without forming alliances.
Over the past couple of days, social media and political circles were abuzz with rumours suggesting that Pawan Kalyan had called Vijay and recommended an alliance strategy, citing his own political journey as an example. Reports claimed that Pawan Kalyan highlighted how contesting alone in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections had limited success for him, and joining forces with the Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party eventually helped him secure the Deputy Chief Minister post.
The rumours further suggested that Vijay could join the NDA, contest around 50 seats, and potentially take the Deputy Chief Minister position if the alliance came to power.
However, senior TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna has dismissed these claims, clarifying that no such conversation took place and reaffirming that Vijay’s party has no plans to join any alliance.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh Overseas Bookings Off to Strong Start

The much-anticipated film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, has kicked off its overseas bookings on a strong note. With the premieres still about ten days away, the film is already generating impressive momentum in the USA market.
According to the latest reports, the film has collected approximately $56,339 from 151 locations across 508 shows, selling around 2,280 tickets so far. With these numbers, total North America advance sales have crossed $62K, marking a promising start given the current buzz surrounding the film.
Trade analysts expect the figures to grow further as more theatre chains open bookings. Several AMC shows are listed but not yet available for purchase, which could significantly increase overall collections once those tickets go live.
Industry insiders say that while the film has opened on a positive note, maintaining this momentum in the coming days will be key. Much of the hype is expected to hinge on promotional material, with director Harish Shankar anticipated to release a high-impact theatrical trailer soon. Fans believe a well-crafted trailer emphasizing the film’s mass appeal could further boost excitement and advance bookings ahead of the premiere.
Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Release Faces Further Delay

Vijay Thalapathy’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan is once again in the news, but for its ongoing release troubles. The film, which was expected to hit theatres on March 19 alongside Dhurandhar 2, has faced another setback at the censor stage.
Reports suggest that the Censor Board review committee screening was cancelled at the last minute due to one of the committee members falling ill. The screening has now been rescheduled for March 17, delaying the certification process yet again. This comes as a fresh hurdle for the makers, who have already faced multiple challenges in securing censor approval.
With the screening postponed, the previously planned mid-March release now appears uncertain. Industry insiders are speculating that the delay could push the release beyond the upcoming elections, as completing certification and arranging distribution within a short timeframe may be difficult.
As of now, the fate of Jana Nayagan remains unclear, with fans waiting to see if the film will finally release after the rescheduled review committee screening on March 17. The latest buzz suggests that a post-election release might be the most likely scenario.

India Retain T20 World Cup with 96-Run Win Over New Zealand

India stamped their authority on world cricket by becoming the first team to retain the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title, clinch three world crowns, and lift the trophy on home soil. The historic victory came after a dominating 96-run win over New Zealand in front of 86,824 fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav will join the elite list of Indian captains to win a men’s World Cup, becoming the fourth Indian leader to achieve the feat. Since taking charge in July 2024, Yadav’s side has not lost a single series, highlighting India’s dominance in T20 cricket.
The win also saw India break two significant hoodoos: they had never beaten New Zealand in a Men’s T20 World Cup match before, and they had not won at Ahmedabad since defeats in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia and a Super Eights loss to South Africa earlier in this tournament.
Sanju Samson starred with a blistering 89 off 46 balls, including five fours and eight sixes, propelling India to a massive 255/5—the second-highest total of the tournament and the highest by any team in a Men’s T20 World Cup. He shared a crucial opening stand of 98 with Abhishek Sharma, who smashed 52 off 21 balls, while Ishan Kishan added 54 off 25 balls to extend the carnage.
Although James Neesham briefly slowed India’s momentum with three wickets in a single over, Shivam Dube ensured India crossed the 250-run mark with an unbeaten 26 off eight balls. New Zealand never recovered from the early onslaught, being bowled out for 159 in 19 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel led the bowling effort with figures of 4-15 and 3-27, respectively, while Tim Seifert top-scored with 52.
India won the match by 96 runs, cementing their place as a T20 cricket powerhouse and creating a historic chapter of home-soil glory.

Trisha Hits Back at Parthiban’s Comment
Almost every discussion in Tamil Nadu politics and Tamil cinema lately has been revolving around the speculated relationship between Thalapathy Vijay and actress Trisha, following the news that Vijay’s wife, Sangeeta, has filed for divorce.
The recent public appearance of Vijay and Trisha together at a wedding function further fueled speculation. At the same time, several negative reports have been circulating about the duo, adding to the controversy.
At a recent film awards event, senior Tamil actor Parthiban commented that it would be better if Trisha stayed away from public appearances, implying that her presence was causing issues. This indirect remark was widely interpreted as a reference to the ongoing Vijay-Trisha discussion.
Trisha, however, did not take the comment lightly. Responding indirectly to Parthiban, she stated:
“I was informed by the organisers of a recent event that my name and picture were included at the last minute at the request of an individual conveyed through his assistant. A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous—it just makes stupidity louder. Crude words without knowledge say more about the speaker than the person they’re aimed at.”
Her statement clearly shows her displeasure with Parthiban’s indirect satire, and she did not hold back in giving a firm and measured response.
