‘Hey Pillagada’ Cashing On Sai Pallavi

Share

If a film of a Tamil or Malayalam hero scores a hit here, then all the previous films of those stars in their native language make way to theatres here through dubbed versions. And now that is being extended to heroines as well, with Sai Pallavi’s Bhanumati acts impressing everyone to the core.

Super success of “Fidaa” at Telugu box office, which is on its way to touch 50 crores share mark, has made Sai Pallavi a big star and Varun a dependable hero. And that success already made Sai Pallavi hike her remuneration and dictate the terms to her producers. Now, adding more to this, Sai Pallavi’s couple of other films from Malayalam are getting released in Tollywood.

Firstly her Malayalam film “Kaali” is being dubbed into Telugu as “Hey Pillagada” and the only selling point here is Sai Pallavi. But what is so annoying is that the title of the film finds its roots in Fidaa movie though there is no connection of it to the story of that film. While “Kaali” deals with anger-management of a guy, this title represents some soft love story, isn’t it?

Sometimes right titles need to be selected based on story rather than straight away cashing on the craze of a star. Also, the film revolves a lot around Dulquer and how he brings chaos to their married life through his exaggerated anger and impulsive behavior. So, don’t expect to see typical Fidaa Sai Pallavi once again bluffed by a bad title.

Star Director’s Revenge on Star Heroes

Share

He is one among the star directors in Telugu film industry. Not many know that he takes ‘revenge’ on star heroes albeit indirectly.

If any star hero keeps him waited for ‘insults’ him, he takes it to the heart and keep it within himself and just patiently waits for the star hero. When the star hero really returns to the director for various reasons, then the star director takes his vengeance by delivering a “flop” to the star hero.

The director makes an uninteresting script with only focus on hero characterization without any story. This is enough to put down a star hero and push him back to a time of a few years.

In the past too, the director has did this to many star heroes, say gossip mongers in the T-town. Now the director himself is not in form and but he said to be gearing up to take such ‘revenge’ once again on a star hero soon.

I Didn’t Even Touch Kajal Agarwal

Finally, it is a big sort of relief for director Teja who has scored gold with Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Made with a simple budget, the film went on to mint double for Suresh Babu and other producers involved in it. That elated our talented director as well.

Every time when Teja’s film is coming, he’s posed with the same question, did you hurt your heroine this time? Talking about this, Teja reveals what exactly happened all the time and if he has hurt Kajal now or not. “Actually I’ve slapped Anitha during Nuvvu Nenu shooting, but we’ve exaggerated it and slightly over promoted it to bring attention to the movie. Otherwise, I don’t have any fetish to hit actresses that way” says Teja.

What about Kajal then? There are rumors that he has slapped her during Lakshmi Kalyanam times and now he has to convince her big time to do Nene Raju Nene Mantri movie. “There is no truth in that. I didn’t even touched Kajal Agarwal during the making of Lakshmi Kalyanam, nor this time. She’s a brilliant actor and understands what I need and what the scene demands” he avers, giving full credit to Kajal.

On the other hand, Teja stated that he will not work with newcomers from now onwards as he’s feeling tough to get things related to acting and expressions right from them.

In a shocking development, the permission for Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva’s Bharat Ane Nenu has been denied in Lucknow. Apparently, director Koratala wanted to shoot the film at Mossabagh which is a historic site. However, the officials of Archeological Survery of India (ASI) have denied permission to shoot the film at the monument raising several concerns.

Fight scenes were planned at Moosabagh but with permission being denied, director, producers and Mahesh have decided to cut short the shooting schedule. Originally, the shoot was planned for the whole month, but due to unexpected problems, the shoot schedule in Lucknow is ended in advance.

The film has been shot in several prominent places in Lucknow including Jahangirabad Palace. However, officials denied permission to shoot at Moosabagh  Since it is a heritage property, there are a lot of restrictions like not to touch walls. But when it comes to the film shooting, there will be a lot of movement. Hence, it will be difficult to restrict people not to touch the walls, not to stand near the walls.

Koratala is now planning to relocate the shoot to some other location to shoot the balance portion.

Boyapati’s Jaya Janaki Nayaka, which had struggled to get a few single screen theatres during its release as it clashed with two other major releases, has now got a huge sigh of relief as 100 more centres have been added to the film from Friday.

Producer Miryala Reddy confirmed, “Yes, 100 centres have been increased for Jaya Janaki Nayaka. This is a good development.” A source close to the unit added that it is a good sign for the film to have added more theatres in the second week of the run.

The film directed by Boyapati Sreenu and starring Bellamkonda Srinivas, Rakul Preet and Pragya Jaiswal has been faring well in B & C centres. The film has huge cast including Jagapathi Babu, Sarath Kumar, Vani Viswanath and this is also acting as a crowd puller among masses.

The Hamsaladeevi episode and interval bang episode said to have impressed the masses which is getting good applause. Devi’s music and Ram-Laxman’s action choreography are also considered as major assets. Since distributors have bought the film for fancy prices, it needs to be seen how the film is going to fare in the coming days.

Akhil Doing The Same Mistake?

A structure of James Bond films will be like this- Bond comes up with a heroic act to defend his country; some epidemic involving terrorists or big shark breaks out somewhere in the world; Bond jumps in even he’s not permitted for the mission, and saves the world. The question is, will such stories work out here?

Somehow saving the world stories are not working out if the heroes doing such films have a superstar image. Even big superstars are scoring flops with such content. Newcomer Akhil, however, chose to play a character that will save the world from a major catastrophe in “Akhil” and the film bombed at the box office like nothing else.

Though his second film is directed by Vikram K Kumar happens to be a love story, the first look poster sounds like it is another action drama like we say, to save the world’ movies. That chopper in the background, people dressed in suits and holding guns, and that cityscapes backdrop are adding to the doubts that this film is also another ‘save the world’ story kind of.

Most recently Vikram carved out 24 Movie, but that is also like a bit of ‘save the world’ theme only and it bombed at box office. Keeping all these stuff in view, maybe both Akhil and Vikram should have avoided such a routine action drama. Let’s see how audiences will believe these two now.
