Speaking About Sridevi Is My Mistake -Rajamouli

Share

Elated with the super success of Baahubali 2, director giant Rajamouli has made some stunning comments, including that of fake theatres list of Magadheera 100 days and also Sridevi’s starry demands to take up Sivagami’s role. That led to huge discussions in film circles and also has upset some people.

Taking to Rajamouli’s comments, Sridevi stated, “I didn’t expect a guy of Rajamouli’s stature to speak that way. Being a producer’s wife, I don’t make such irrelevant demands. And also if I troubled my producers that way, I wouldn’t have today done 300 films”. When quizzed about these comments, finally Rajamouli chose to respond to a Bollywood media house.

“What I’ve told and What Sridevi ji responded on them is in public domain now. People can decide who’s right and who is wrong, there is no worry about it. But I regret today that I should not have spoken such stuff in the first place on record and in an interview. It’s my mistake” said Rajamouli, hinting that he should have avoided Sridevi’s topic.

On a concluding note, he praised Sridevi for bringing good name to South Indians in Bollywood and wished her all the best for Mom movie. Earlier Sridevi also wished Rajamouli in a similar manner saying that no matter what he said about her, he’s a great director.

It’s Uday Kiran’s Decision To Call Off ‘Mega’ Wedding

Share

Many cinema lovers often see Uday Kiran’s biggest minus ever he has done to his career is his much-hyped engagement with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmita and subsequently calling it off. They blame Megastar for the downfall of Uday’s career post this happening. But what has Uday Kiran’s own sister Sridevi, who stays in Muscat, Oman along with her family, has to say about this?

Three years post the suicide of Uday, it looks like Sridevi will speak about the past. Giving a clean certificate to Chiranjeevi, she says, “Even before Sushmita got engaged to Uday, Chiranjeevi garu is a solid support system for Uday Kiran. When my brother is going through a bitter breakup (with a lady journalist and anchor), it’s Chiranjeevi garu who gave him solace and guided him through tough times. He gave my brother emotional and mental support when he’s crying a lot”.

“Probably to give more of such solace to Uday, Chiranjeevi garu proposed the marriage and we all are very happy with it. We went to Chiranjeevi garu’s house and the hospitality is amazing. I spoke to him over phone couple of times and he’s really great. But Uday felt that the likes-dislikes of him and Sushmita are not matching. He felt that they are not compatible with each other. It is his decision to call off the wedding, not Chiranjeevi garu’s decision”, she added. Later Uday Kiran’s family is not in touch with Chiranjeevi’s family.

Though directly not accusing anyone, Sridevi stated that Uday Kiran is not happy in marital life though he always lied that he’s happy. “I met Uday Kiran and Vishita during the marriage and later went to Muscat. Whenever I called, Uday used to say he’s happy but never Vishita is at home to speak to me. I doubt now, something went wrong there. After Uday’s death, she’s not in touch with us till date and that explains, there is something to suspect”, asserted Sridevi.

Well, Uday Kiran is one young sensation who rose to heights despite having no solid support from the film industry. Probably he should have been alive!!

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday conducted raids at three Delhi farmhouses of Misa Bharti, RJD MP and daughter of party chief Lalu Prasad, her husband and a firm linked to them, in a money laundering case probe.

Sleuths of the central probe agency swooped on the farmhouses in Ghitorni, Bijwasan and Sainik Farms areas in New Delhi early on Saturday.

The farmhouses are linked to Bharti, her husband Shailesh Kumar and M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited.

Two more premises are under the scanner of the agency and can be searched later, an ED official said.

The searches are connected to a money laundering probe being conducted by the agency against two brothers, Surendra Kumar Jain and Virendra Jain, and others who are alleged to have laundered several crore rupees using shell companies.

The Jain brothers were arrested by the ED under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

One of the firms that the arrested duo dealt with was M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited. Bharti and her husband are alleged to have been directors of this firm in the past.

The agency said it was detected that 1,20,000 shares of M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited were bought during 2007-08 at a rate of Rs 100 per share by four shell companies – M/s Shalini Holdings Limited, M/s Ad-Fin Capital
Services (India) Pvt. Ltd, M/s Mani Mala Delhi Properties Pvt. Ltd., and M/s Diamond Vinimay Pvt. Ltd.

These 1,20,000 shares, it said, were bought back by Bharti at Rs 10 per share.

The ED had also arrested Rajesh Agarwal, a Chartered Accountant allegedly linked to Bharti, who provided accommodation entries (black funds) of about Rs 60 lakh to M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited.

The firm, it said, was registered at 25, Tughlaq Road in New Delhi till the shares were bought back by Bharti. In 2009-10, the address was changed to Bijwasan, it added.

I am Proud Of My Body, Says Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan, the super-busy actress, who is always vocal about many issues, talks to us in a freewheeling interview on how she has no qualms with her body, how she wants to be connected artistically with her audience, her appa’s stint in Bigg Boss and much more.

You seemed to have no qualms with your dare-bare attitude when it comes to photo shoots and magazine covers…

Google any other actress in Bollywood, they all have done the same thing. If my body looks a little more spectacular, I can’t help it! (laughs) I am proud of my body. Some days it is perfect; some other days it’s not.  To me, sensuality is another aspect of the human personality. I am not secretive, not frustrated or imbalanced. I believe in owning my body and not going by other people’s perception of it.

I Want to Crack The Tamil Film Industry: Naga Chaitanya

Share

The last few years have been very kind to Naga Chaitanya’s career. He is now looking excitedly at the release of his next Telugu film, Yuddham Sharanam, which true to its title, is an action film. “It’s not just an action film, but a very youth-centric thriller,” says Naga Chaitanya, adding, “I play a college dropout who makes drones.”

Chaitanya, who started his career in 2009 with Josh, feels that Yuddham Sharanam is his most youth-oriented film to date. “It was designed that way. We worked on several drafts of the script until we felt it sounded right for youngsters. When the script initially came to me, I  liked it immediately. But I felt we needed to work more on it,” says Chaitanya, whose father, Nagarjuna, has always been of great help in choosing his scripts.

Not this time, though. Chaitanya reveals, “This script was recommended to me by my uncle Venkatesh. A lot of other opinions that matter were also taken into consideration.”

The actor has been going through a very favourable phase in his career. “My last few films have been successful. And I’ve come to understand what suits me and what doesn’t suit me after some initial setbacks. I believe failures are very important in any person’s growth. I’ve learnt what not to do from them,” he says.

Chaitanya shares that he wants to venture into Tamil cinema. “I’d like to explore that area with my next film, though no Hindi cinema for now,” he states. The actor also feels that Baahubali has opened up doors for Telugu cinema. “We are looked at with renewed interest. It’s time for Telugu cinema to make its presence felt,” he says.

Fidaa Is My ‘Baahubali’: Shekhar Kammula

Share

Shekhar Kammula tried for star heroes for ‘Fidaa’ before going to Varun Tej for playing the hero who happens to be an NRI. The efforts he put in for ‘Fidaa’ is something which makes the film his Baahubali says the director.

The story was there with him since long but he kept on adding changes to the story and Shekhar Kammula thinks writing a love story isn’t that easy. He should live up to the status because it is someone’s hard-earned money and fame which is going to be at stake.

The director sounded confident and claims that the audiences hadn’t seen a film like this. The love story between an NRI and a local Telangana girl is something fresh and would cater to the tastes of the audiences who are looking for a refreshing movie. This movie is very critical for the director who had a series of flops and coming with ‘Fidaa’ after a gap.

New Trend in Tollywood: Short Titles

Share

A catchy title has the ability to create buzz on a film right from the title announcement. Given that buzz and promotions are the most crucial in the success of movies these days, filmmakers are opting for catchy titles, irrespective of whether they convey the film’s theme or not.

Allu Arjun’s DJ is the latest film which was highly benefited with its catchy title. Positive vibes stared for this film right from the day the title was announced. People preferred to call the film DJ over Duvvada Jagannatham.

Let us have a look at some more upcoming movies that have jumped into this ‘Short Titles’ bandwagon.

Dil Raju, who produced DJ, is now bankrolling Nani’s new film, which incidentally has a short title, ‘MCA’. Although the original meaning is ‘Middle Class Abbayi’, makes preferred the short title, MCA. Sai Pallavi is the film’s leading lady.

Taking a long gap after the failure of ‘Ism’, Kalyanram Nandamuri has commenced the shooting of his new film, which is titled ‘MLA’. ‘Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi’ has been shortened to make it catchy.

Nithin, whose last film had a short title, ‘A..Aa’, will once again have a peculiar and short title, LIE for his upcoming film. As per the makers, ‘LIE’ stands for ‘Love Intelligence, Enmity’.

Dhanush’s Tamil hit ‘VIP’ was dubbed in Telugu as ‘Raghuvaran B.Tech’. But, for the sequel, he has retained ‘VIP 2’ title for Telugu version too.

Reddys Weaken Congress, KCR Takes Advantage!

Share

Congress party is facing difficult situation in Telangana. Growing Reddy domination in the party did not go well in other communities particularly BCs – Backward Classes in new state. As a result, the active participation of BC, SC and Minority leaders in party programmes diminished in the recent times.

The BC community strongly objected giving two key posts – Telangana Congress President and CLP leader posts to Reddy community. While Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jana Reddy hold the two key posts, majority of the district party President posts and Assembly constituency incharge posts were given to Reddy community only.

Barring Reddy community, all other communities are unhappy in Congress for getting a raw deal in party posts, leaders said to contain Reddy influence in the party, the BC Leaders are united and holding series of meetings to strengthen their leadership.

The other side, TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao began efforts to lure senior most leaders like Ponnala Laxmaiah, V Hanumantha Rao, Anjan Kumar Yadav and SC leaders – Damodar Raja Narasimha and J Geeta Reddy into his hold.

KCR already succeeded in poaching senior most BC leaders like D Srinivas etc after the formation of Telangana. Taking serious note of declining their role in Congress, the BC Leaders organised a meeting on July 12 where the leaders will finalize their future plan to strengthen their leadership.

Threat To Sastry’s 10 Crores At Box Office

Share

‘DJ Duvvada Jagannadham’ has made nearly 66 crores ‘share’ from the box office till date through its Telugu version. And then, the film did an amazing 76 crores pre-release business and when the print-publicity costs included it should collect around 80 crores ‘share’ to make all the distributors safe.

Going by the current trends, DJ will have some trouble in the third week. Even if we exclude the upcoming Malayalam version, the film should collect 76 crores share here itself. Is it really possible for the movie to cover 10 crore ‘share’ more? Two latest releases are surely going to trouble Jagannadha Sastry going by the initial public talk.

Nani’s Ninnu Kori is getting a good response from multiplex crowds and A-centre audiences, while Sridevi’s crime thriller Mom is also getting similar attention in A-centres. All these days DJ Duvvada Jagannadham has no opponent at the box office and that’s the reason it reaped the benefits despite getting the negative talk. But now that these two films becoming an option for filmgoers, definitely that effect will be there on DJ’s trade, say experts.

Despite some repeated controversies surrounding the movie, it looks like the craze of the film is slowly going down. Now that two new releases are trying to make their presence felt, their success will pose threat to DJ’s balance vasool from the box
