The pre-release business of today’s release DJ Duvvada Jagannadham touched 100 crores while the theatrical rights are alone sold for around 80 crores. Moving on, we have now Pawan Kalyan’s next flick, #PK25 being directed by Trivikram, getting a tremendous response.

Though the Overseas rights of this film are yet to be bought by distributors, in all likelihood the film is going to amass 150 crores from pre-release business, say trade analysts. Theatrical rights from India alone are likely to fetch 110+ crores while satellite rights from all languages might earn 25+ crores. And Overseas rights will add to it, taking the total to 150 crores.

Provided with the fact that Trivikram is making yet another family entertainer with Pawan Kalyan, one wonders if there is any feasibility for these numbers. Actually 150 crores pre-release business would be possible only if the film is sold at staggering prices. But such sky-rocketing figures won’t see a recovery option unless the film gets a blockbuster talk from premiere shows itself.

Some trade pundits feel that Pawan Kalyan should stop makers of his movie collect such a hefty amount from distributors. With movies like Sardaar and Katamarayudu leaving a huge dent in pockets of distributors, any slight change in the fate of #PK25 at the box office would leave similar result again, pushing some distributors to quit the business forever. That’s why selling at lower rates would minimize the impact.

For people watching DJ Duvvada Jagannadham in theatres today, it’s a pleasant surprise as they suddenly caught off with “Fidaa” trailer during the interval. Such sudden stare at the trailer, however, gave a different set of experience than what Sekhar Kammula and Dil Raju would have expected.

It starts off as an NRI boy’s story who falls for a naughty and loud Telangana girl. Varun Tej is looking handsome as usual while it is newbie Sai Pallavi who has come out as a revelation. Though she’s against skin shows, director Sekhar Kammula has perfectly accentuated her ‘nadumu’ curve throughout the film, it looks like. Just this short trailer itself banked on her ‘nadumu’ show plenty of times and now imagine the whole film.

Cut to other part of the trailer, it looks like any other routine love story. Only striking part is that Sai Pallavi talks in pure Telangana dialect and her slang is intriguing. At the same time, Varun Tej as confused NRI is also impressive. But the story part is something we have to worry about.

No matter what is the age, that is just a number for our senior star heroes. From Chiranjeevi to Balakrishna, Venkatesh to Nagarjuna, never they flaunted that salt and pepper look of theirs on the silver screen. But Venkatesh is said to be pulling out off the league.

Other day we heard the big news already that Venky agreed to play a 5-minute cameo in the upcoming film of Pawan Kalyan that will be directed by Trivikram. We are getting more info on the role that it happens to be a character that plays maternal uncle of Pawan. Though Pawan is 45 and Venkatesh is 56, both look like brothers. But inside this movie, Venky will be wearing a little senior kind of looks to sound perfect like a ‘menamama’.

One wonders if he will feature grey and white hair for the first time on silver screen for this character. It looks like Trivikram carved out a prominent character for Venky such that he will get more attention just in a 5-minute sequence. However, this is worrying Venky’s fans a tad bit.

In case if the character clicks big time, then Venkatesh might get similar offers from other heroes as well while main lead roles take a side track, fans say. For the kind of background Venky has, that may not happen anyway.
