When bubbly actress Rakul Preet Singh made her debut in Bollywood with ‘Yaariyaan’ in 2014, she went unrecognized as the film bombed at box office. After 3 years, Bollywood has now come knocking her door as she found stardom in South.

As per latest reports, Rakul has been signed to play the female lead in a Bollywood film being directed by Neeraj Pandey of ‘MS Dhoni: An Untold Story’, ‘Baby’ and ‘Special 26’ fame. Reigning young hero Siddarth Malhotra is playing the hero. The names of the hero and director ensure the film has a huge canvas, thus providing a perfect re-launchpad to Rakul.

Siddarth has already has started shooting for this military espionage film in the picturesque locales of Kashmir. Rakul will join the team for the second schedule that will commence in July. Given the success rate of Neeraj Pandey, Rakul has a promising comeback film. If she utilizes the chance well, she may find the same success in Bollywood that she has been enjoying in South.

Rakul currently has Mahesh Babu’s SPYder and Boyapati’s next in pipeline.

Salman Khan has emerged as a box office behemoth in the last few years. Almost all of his recent movies have went on to become blockbusters irrespective of how critics had rated them, thanks to his mammoth fan base. Calling his films critic-proof, the superstar has now challenged the critics to give his films minus 100 rating.

In a recent interview, when Salman Khan was asked about how he copes with critics ripping apart most of his films, the carefree actor said, “it doesn’t make any difference and I think they know it too. My films are critic-proof. Now, I am telling them to go on and give my film minus 100 stars. Let’s see what happens then. My fans will anyway watch my film and that’s the reward for my hard work. It only makes the critics look like a bunch of idiots.”

Taking on critics in his witty style, Salman further said, “I believe that critics have no right to take anybody’s hard work down. What authority you have to rip a film apart on Day 1 of the release itself? You write some rubbish crap and it destroys films and a lot of hard work that went into making them.”

Salman Khan’s new film “Tubelight” is all set to release on June 23. We have to wait and see if the comments of Salman against critics will have any adverse impact on his film or not.

The first glimpse of hero Bellamkonda Srinivas that was unveiled on his birthday in Jan 2017 saw him in a total new avatar. The first look featuring Srinivas in hunky avatar with completely chiseled look and holding a shield has drawn good appreciation from all corners.

Nearly six months after the look, the makers of Boyapati and Bellamkonda have revealed its title – Jaya Janaki Nayaka. And the title did live up to all the hype. It’s said that the title has a strong connection to the story.

The ensemble cast includes Rakul Preet, Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu, Sarath Kumar and Catherine Tresa in a special song. Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music. The film’s shoot has been wrapped up except two songs. Produced by Miriyala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations banner, the film is all set for Aug 11 release.

Niharika Konidela has signed her second film in Telugu in which she will be playing the lead role. It’s learnt that Niharika is the protagonist in the film and the makers are keeping other details pertaining to project under the wraps.

This is going to be directed by debutant Ravi Durga Prasad who earlier assisted directors Prabhu Dheva and others. Jointly produced by Marisetti Raghavaiah and Bandaru Bobby under MR Entertainments and Kavitha Combines, the film has been formally launched today.

The film’s shoot is going to begin by the end of this month and it’s going to be a regular shoot. Meanwhile, Niharika has also signed a Tamil film. It’s heard that she is in discussioins for couple of other films for which she is listening stories. However, she hasn’t taken a final call yet on her up next films. As of now, the mega heroine is focusing on her current films.

Niharika’s maiden film Oka Manasu had turned flop at the Box Office. Now, she is hoping to do better with her second film. Doing a lead role in the very second movie itself is certainly a rarity. A couple of weeks ago, leading Telugu director SS Rajamouli explained about his fallout with mega producer Allu Arvind. He stated that Magadheera’s 100 days centres list was faked for the sake of fans and he didn’t like it. But that went in two ways. Is Rajamouli against faking centres? Or against publishing that equation of x-days in y-centres?
