Box office ruler Salman Khan has explained how a South film, Baahubali 2, shattered all the records in Bollywood and emerged such a massive global blockbuster. He primarily credited Hindi audiences for making Baahubali a force to reckon with.

Salman said, “Hindi audiences don’t know more than three or four South heroes. They however watched, loved and made a Telugu film, Baahubali a huge hit. Their acceptance is the real reason why the film became a pan-India blockbuster.”

Explaining why Hindi films don’t become huge blockbusters in South, the ‘Sultan’ star said, ‘South audiences know us very well, yet, our films do not do that volume of business because they have an extraordinary sense of loyalty to their favorite south heroes. They stay fans of one particular hero for life.’

Elaborating further on the difference between South and Hindi audiences, he added, “the South stars have very devoted fan clubs and they will fight against piracy of their favorite heroes’ films even if a powerful politician or underworld kingpin is involved. We have no one to fight piracy for us in Bollywood.”

Salman is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Tubelight’, which is set for release on June 23.

This clearly seems to be a season of film stars making their small screen debut. After Megastar Chiranjeevi and Young Tiger NTR, macho hunk Rana Daggubati is the latest star to step into the TV world.

Rana took to his Twitter account just a while ago and announced his TV show, No.1 Yaari. The teaser of No.1 Yaari will be unveiled this evening at 5 pm. Gemini TV will air Rana’s show. No.1 Yaari is a talk show, where Rana would invite his film industry friends and delve deeper into their personal lives.

If any Telugu hero is making most of Pawan Kalyan’s craze, then we need to talk about these two heroes. They are weaving their reel-life scenes and characters around the mighty Powerstar, calling themselves are self-confessed hardcore fans.

One is Nitin, who happens to have got Pawan’s blessing and support as well for many of his film functions. Time and again he either remixes Pawan’s songs or imitates Pawan or turns up like Pawan on the silver screen to showcase his love. And in a way that is also winning the attention of audiences, especially Pawan Kalyan fans. Even his LIE movie being directed by Hanu Raghavapudi has Pawan Kalyan’s Tammudu song Vayyari Bhama inspired Bombhaat song.

The other hero is Mega Menalludu Sai Dharam Tej who always imitates Pawan on the silver screen, and also stays close to Pawan Kalyan fans by saying #CheptanuBrother. He has now “Jawan” in hand, which is being directed by BVS Ravi and the film will feature a remix song of Pawan’s yesteryear hit.

Big thing is that both these movies are hitting cinemas on the same day, leading to a box office clash between these two Pawan Kalyan fans. In view of the long Independence Day weekend, both LIE and Jawan are set for August 11th release.

Will the hero who has Vayyari Bhama inspired song will win? Or the one with Pawan Kalyan remix will win? Definitely, the film with good content will win at the box office and the Powerstar fanism might add a big to collections in case if the content clicks. It’s an interesting war, however!!

With superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood star hero Akshay Kumar as the principle characters of their mega project ‘2.0’, makers had thought of clinching record deals but they failed to do so.

As per the latest reports, the Hindi theatrical rights of ‘2.0’ were snapped for a huge Rs 80 crore. The deal indeed is one of the highest in recent times but the makers had to slash their demand by Rs 20 crore to ink this deal with a prominent distributor. The makers had earlier been reluctant to sell the Hindi rights for less than Rs 100 crore but since no distributor came forward to shell such whopping sum, they were forced to slash the amount by Rs 20 crore.

Despite the film being the highest budgeted Indian film, having Shankar wearing director’s hat, Rajini and a popular Bollywood actor – Akshay Kumar in lead roles, ‘2.0’ still couldn’t crack a bigger deal than Baahubali 2’s. The Hindi theatrical rights of the second part of Rajamouli’s magnum opus were reportedly sold for around Rs 90 crore.

To be released in as many as 15 languages, ‘2.0’ is currently in post-production stage. January 25 is the tentative release date.

There are certain qualities when it comes to certain directors. Maniratnam handles delicate romance quite well. Shankar portrays corruption in the society very realistically. Rajamouli maximises the drama and Puri Jagan is The chemistry satirical. In similar fashion, a young director is carving out a new brand for him.

Other day when the first song from “LIE” move was launched in the USA just before the team took off to India after a 75-day shooting marathon, one dusky beauty became the cynosure of all eyes. She’s none other than Megha Akash. And that brings the name of director Hanu Raghavapudi into a discussion now.

Though Hanu’s debut film Andala Rakshasi isn’t a super hit, heroine Lavanya Tripathi walked out with that tag and made a huge impact. While his second movie Krishnagadi Veera Prema Gadha is an above average farer, heroine Mehreen got attention for her girl-next-door looks. If we have to go by the looks of Megha Akash now, she’s also going to end up with huge fame post this film’s release, we could say.

That makes everyone now call Hanu Raghavapudi as the Finder of beautiful leading ladies for Telugu cinema. If he finds two more girls, people will call him a specialist as well. Isn’t it?

The chemistry between two heroines is also essential when a film has two female leads and if their characters are related to each other. One such stunning chemistry was seen between actress Ramya Krishna and Madhubala in the 90s as they dazzled in a musical love story.

Since featuring in the movie Allari Priyudu of Rajasekhar and K Raghavendra Rao in 1993, both Ramya and Madhu are good friends with each other. While they competed with each other in that film to win the hand of the hero, now Madhu is going to land in the role that won huge fame for Ramya Krishna recently.

Taking a clue from the powerful characters like Devasena and Sivagami which he has created for the silver screen, writer Vijayendra Prasad carved out the TV series “Aarambh” now. The series has Devasena inspired role of the same name, the lead of the show, which will be played by yesteryear heroine Radha’s daughter Karthika. Reports have that Madhubala has now come on board to play the role of Sivagami inspired character, though the character’s name will somewhat change.

Expressing her happiness for making a presence on small screen, Madhubala stated that she’s more excited to recreate the legacy of such powerful character enacted by her friend Ramya.

After coming to films post taking a huge break, Madhubala didn’t make an impact through her mother characters. Hope Sivagami recreation on small screen works wonders for her.
