Sukumar Recommending Kumari?

Share

Just the other day, reports emerged that beautiful actress Lavanya Tripathi has been roped in to reprise the role essayed by Tamannah in the Tamil remake of Sukumar’s ‘100pc Love’. However, the latest update suggest that Hebah Patel has bagged the film. While the reasons behind Hebah replacing Lavanya are still unknown, buzz in film circles is that its’s because of Sukumar’s recommendation.

It may be noted that Sukumar’s associate Chandramouli has already been roped in to direct the Tamil remake of ‘100pc Love’. As a co-producer of Tamil remake, Sukumar has substantial authority in choosing the cast, and after handing the directorial mantle to his associate, he seems to have decided to bring his ‘Kumari 21F’ actress Hebah on board.

The Tamil remake is a great opportunity for Hebah to win Kollywood audiences. Since the heroine character has pivotal importance in the film, she can fully showcase her acting prowess. Her ability to look bubbly, cheesy and yet serious at times may be another reason that persuaded makers to rope her in.

Young music composer turned actor GV Prakash is reprising Naga Chaitanya’s character in the remake.

It is already an official news that handsome Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will play the main baddie in Prabhas’s new film ‘Saaho’. The film would have become his Tollywood debut if he had not signed NTR’s ‘Jai Lava Kusa’.

It is heard that Neil has been signed by director Bobby to essay a key role in Jai Lava Kusa. This negative character demanded a stylish actor with charming yet cunning looks and Neil perfectly fitted the bill. When approached, Neil couldn’t reject the tempting character and signed the film. Thus, Jai Lava Kusa will mark his debut in Telugu films.

The shooting of Jai Lava Kusa is currently progressing in Hyderabad. Nivetha Thomas, Raashi Khanna and Nandita are on board to essay the leading ladies. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, the action entertainer is aiming September release.

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh lock horns over clearance of power dues

Share

Hyderabad: Departments of the Telangana government are divided on whose responsibility it is to settle the power dues owed to AP. Officials of the financial department say that the state government has nothing to do with the matter and that the issue needs to be resolved by the power utilities of the two states. TS Transco officials, however, say that the issue needs to be resolved at the state level.

Four days ago, officials of the TS finance department went to Amaravati, the capital of AP, to discuss the settlement of funds between the two states.

They claimed that the AP government had to pay them Rs 3,000 crore from the funds released by the Central government under centrally-sponsored schemes after the bifurcation. Officials of the AP finance department said that the Telangana government owed them Rs 4,000 crore for the power which AP had supplied to Telangana over the past three years.

In response, the TS officials said that the state government had nothing to do with the dues owed by Telangana power utilities. They said that the matter would have to be resolved by the power utilities of the two states, without intervention from the state governments.

However, D. Prabhakar Rao, the chairman and MD of TS Transco and TS Genco, believes that the issue should be settled at the state level. In a letter to AP Genco chairman, Mr Rao said, “Telangana State Power Coordination Committee and TS Discoms are of the view that the settlement of dues between the two power utilities should be done at the state level, for a permanent and amicable solution.”

Meanwhile, AP officials are unsure about whom they should take the issue up with. A senior officer of AP says that TS officials are also confused, after the finance department and the power utilities passing the buck to the each other.

Insulated cables to deal with power cut
Residents of the twin cities will no longer have to deal with interruptions in the power supply during heavy rains or strong winds once the Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) replaces the existing conductors with insulated conductors. The replacement will be carried out in phases.

After successful implementation of a pilot project in Prasasan Nagar, where about 1.2 km of conductors were replaced with insulated conductors, the SPDCL has begun replacing conductors along a 58-km stretch in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills.

At present, regular electrical wires are used as conductors. When trees fall on these wires, they cause transformers to trip, thus cutting off the power supply. Once the wires are replaced with insulated ones, transformers will no longer trip if trees fall on them.

The SPDCL also considered the possibility of laying underground cables to avoid interruptions in the power supply, but then decided against it because it would be much more expensive. Laying underground cables for a stretch of the same length will cost Rs 500 crore.

Total length of electrical wire within GHMC limits:

33KV lines: 2200 km
11KV lines: 8400 km
LT lines: 27,000 km

  • Total length that has been identified to be replaced with insulated conductors: 2000 km
  • Total cost of replacement: Ranges from Rs 1,700cr to Rs 2,000cr
  • Present project site: Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills
  • Total length: 58 km
  • Cost of replacement with insulated conductors: Rs 11cr.

Two Star Heroes’ Titles Disappoint Fans

Share

The titles of two mass heroes have come as a shocker to their fans. With both the names of RC 11 and NBK 101 are far from the conventions and look like a disconnect to masses, the fans of Ram Charan and Balakrishna are a worried lot. Since both the names are also not named after their favourite matinee idols, it is another disappointing factor.

Ram Charan

Ram Charan always has a practice of picking short and catchy titles such as Dhruva, Yevadu, Racha, Nayak, Chirutha and so on. His film with lengthy title Govindudu Andarivadele has failed at the Box Office. With his next with Sukumar being called as Rangasthalam 1985, this is not going well. But one has to wait and see what’s the real intention behind naming the movie so keeping aside catchy names such as Chittti Babu and Repalle.

Balakrishna

Puri Jagnnadh’s titles draw a lot of attention. They’re very trendy and connects to masses. In fact, he has a fame of setting a trend of having negative titles such as Idiot, Pokiri, Desa Muduru, Rogue. But Puri has utterly disappointed by naming his film with Balayya as Paisa Vasool. While it looks like a tagline of a movie review, a bunch of pics have also been unveiled along with the title. The poor phostoshopped stills and title indicate that Puri is sending signals that the film would be a commercial potboiler – i.e not to expect much from it.

PS : Well, as a popular adage says not to judge a book by its title, let’s wait till the films hit the theatres.

Six Talented Guys Fighting For Black Lady

Share

Acting in films is not about getting the film sold at higher praises for a hero but also winning accolades for the work done. And such work comes only once in an often to sweep all the awards for any hero. But this time, somehow, almost all the big stars have delivered their best.

We are talking about our Telugu heroes grabbing the “Black Lady” at upcoming 64th Filmfare Awards that are due next month. Interestingly all the nominations in Best Actor in Lead Role category are very interesting and it will be a tough call for the panel to pick the winner. If we look at nominations, Allu Arjun – Sarrainodu, Nani – Gentleman, Naga Chaitanya – Premam, Nagarjuna – Oopiri, NTR Jr. – Nannaku Prematho, Ram Charan – Dhruva are in the race.

Allu Arjun’s serious role in Sarrainodu is definitely a worthy watch. At the same Nani killed with his dual shaded act in Gentlemen where he portrayed double roles. Naga Chaitanya sounded classic in Premam showcasing various stages of life-journey. We can’t think anyone other than Nagarjuna for that paraplegic act in Oopiri. Jr NTR killed with his stylish acts in Nannaku Prematho, while Ram Charan reinvented himself for Dhruva before impressing everyone.

Every time audiences are able to pick up a winner easily as they have some clear choices. But this time, the competition looks genuine, the nominees are competing with each other very strongly. We have to see who will walk away with the Black Lady trophy.

All About Nani’s New 5Cr Villa

With six consecutive hit films to his name, with his last film ‘Nenu Local’ breaking into the Rs 30 crore club and positioning him on par with Ravi Teja, Natural Star Nani has earned quite a decent sum in the last two years. He allegedly hiked his remuneration too.

It seems that like Rajamouli and the other seniors in industry, Nani too is investing his hard-earned money on property. According to the latest reports, Nani has purchased a lavish villa in Hyderabad, Gachibowli area precisely, by shelling out a whopping Rs 5 crore.

As he has recently welcomed his first baby boy, Nani is reportedly planning to move into this plush villa that has been constructed with all the modern amenities a well-off family can think of.

On work front, Nani is currently waiting for the release of his next film, Ninnu Kori, which is slated to hit screens on July 7. His next is Dil Raju’s MCA, which also stars Sai Pallavi.

Jab Harry Met Sejal

After so many speculations, here is the title and release date of Imtiaz Ali-Shah Rukh Khan’s next movie.

The romantic entertainer which was earlier rumored to have been titled ‘Ring’, ‘Raula’ or ‘Rehnuma’, has finally got its title and it is a classic one, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, needless to tell movie buffs that this title is borrowed from All Time classic Hollywood film ‘When Harry Met Sally’. The title of this SRK starrer is also reminiscent of director Imtiaz’s earlier blockbuster movie “Jab We Met”.

Starring Anushka Sharma as the leading lady, “Jab Harry Met Sejal” is set for worldwide release on August 4. The first look posters have been released and they endorse positives vibes with both Shah Rukh and Anushka looking at their jovial best. The posters also unveil the interesting tag line, “What you seek is seeking you”.

The film narrates the story of a girl who loses her engagement ring in Europe and how a guide, played by SRK, helps hr find it. The romantic drama, shot extensively in Europe, marks the third collaboration of SRK and Anushka after “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” and “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”.

Fans hope Shah Rukh scores the much needed hit at least with this film. He has been lagging far behind in the box office race compared to Aamir and Salman Khan.
