What Virat Learnt From Anushka

Share

Team India captain Virat Kohli, who has started talking about his lady love, actress Anushka Sharma in front of media, has revealed that she made him a feminist.

Saying that Anushka made a difference in his life by changing the way he used to look at issues like equality and feminism, Kohli added, “People are very chauvinistic in this country. I certainly wasn’t aware of that growing up, to be honest. But I have started to see myself as a feminist. I would definitely want to think about life from the side of the woman. Everyone should be a feminist.”

Not just about equality, Anushka also taught Virat to love animals. The ace cricketer himself gave the credit to her for changing his perspective towards animals.

“I have always been fond of animals but I never had the compassion and love that I feel now, and that’s because of Anushka. She has changed the way I see these things, and the way I think about animals; now I’ve genuinely started feeling this deep love for them,” added Virat.

With Kohli openly admitting about Anushka’s importance in his life and making public appearances hand in hand with the Bollywood beauty, fans are eagerly waiting to see the duo taking the next step .

Don’t choose politics as career, Naidu tells youth!

Share

At a time when there has been a demand from people from all walks of life that the present day politics needs young blood, as the older politicians have ruined its character, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked the youth not to choose politics as their career but concentrate on settling down in their lives first.

In a media interview, Naidu said youngsters who want to enter politics should first settle down in their lives and earn money, instead of choosing politics as their career or profession.

“You may have political ideologies, but don’t enter active politics directly. After settling down in your life and make your own living, you can think of entering politics at a later stage,” he said.

On young leader like YSR Congress party Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Naidu said the opposition leader was an unstable man who doesn’t know the spelling of integrity and character.

“We know how to handle Jagan who grew with the help of his father’s corrupt practices,” he said.

On Pawan Kalyan, the TDP president said he respected the Jana Sena Party chief but it was too early to speak about his political ambitions.

I Was Born in a Wrong Family: Kajal

Share

Gorgeous beauty Kajal Aggarwal not just has a charming face but she can spell magic with her enchanting words too. However, the latest efforts of the actress in covering up why she isn’t doing Bollywood films looks outright artificial.

“A mistake has happened in my life that is out of my control. Its related to my birth. I was wrongly taken birth in a North Indian family, I always tell this to my family members and friends. I am a pakka South Indian at heart and I take pride in calling myself a South Indian girl,” said the dazzling beauty.

Well, all this seemingly unconvincing flattery was witnessed when Kajal was asked about having no Hindi films in her kitty.

“I have been receiving offers from Bollywood but I like doing Telugu and Tamil films only. I started my career in South industry and I am very happy here. I don’t want to lose good offers in South for the sake of Bollywood,” added Kajal.

This very same Kajal had earlier made desperate attempts to make her mark in Bollywood. She even shocked her fans in South by parading her cleavage in a revealing outfit on the red carpet of a Bollywood awards event, she never exposed to that length even in star-studded south films. As her efforts in Bollywood failed miserably, she is now trying to win back the love of South audiences.

Nikhil Throwing Grand Party

Share

Young and happening hero is throwing a lavish party to all his directors, heroines and media circuit commemorating 10 years of his acting career. Besides this, Nikhil will be celebrating his recent success Keshava and his birthday on June 1st.

Although Nikhil has many reasons to celebrate his birthday on June 1st (Thursday) and everything was planned, the actor had cancelled as a mark of respect and tribute to legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao who passed away on last Tuesday (May 30).

Nikhil personally invited all the directors with whom he had worked with. Right from Sekhar Kammula to recent Sudheer Varma, all have been invited. Even heroines Swathi, Hebah and all others have been invited. Apparently, Nikhil is going to cut two cakes – one is for his decade old career and other one is for Keshava.

This lavish party is going to be held on Sunday night at city’s most premium club HyLife Brewing in Jubilee 800.

Pawan Back on Twitter, Sings Same Song

Share

After almost a month of hiatus (his last tweet came on May 8), actor-turned-Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan made a new tweet on Sunday, June 4. Unsurprisingly, the actor chose to sing the same song of ‘Special Status to AP’ in his comeback tweet.

Wishing AICC Chief Raghuveera Reddy on the meeting of AP Congress with the aim of achieving Special Status to AP, Pawan said that he would support any political party that fights for the AP people’s cause. He added that he too would have taken part in the meeting if he had knowledge of the meeting beforehand.

It is good to see Pawan Kalyan back in action. We can now expect him to stay active as he used to be until a technical glitch forced him to deactivate his account last month. On the down side, Pawan is still beating around the bush in the case of special status.

On work front, Pawan is shooting for Trivikram’s film nonstop unlike the intermittent brakes in the case of his last two films – Sardaar and Katamarayudu.

Pawan pats Cong, but skips Rahul meeting

Share

As expected, power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan is not attending the public meeting being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee at Guntur on Sunday demanding special category status to AP.

Pawan expressed his views through twitter. “I will support any political party who is fighting for special status for AP (sic). My best wishes to Raghuveera Reddy garu (APCC president). But due to short notice, I am not able to make it.

But every political party should come under common dais when it comes to fighting for promised special status with the Centre (sic),” he tweeted.

Though Jana Sena Party president says he is not able to make it due to lack of time, it is not the real reason, for the Congress party invited him well in advance.

In fact, Pawan has others reasons to skip the Congress party meeting. If he attends, he will have to speak against the Congress party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi for dividing Andhra Pradesh.

Secondly, he does not want to give any chance for the Congress party to regain its identity, if not glory. And finally, he does not want to antagonise the Telugu Desam Party at this stage, though he can attack the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Probe into Vizag land scam, just an eyewash?

Share

The “public inquiry” ordered by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday into the multi-crore Visakhapatnam land scam is unlikely to yield any result, as it allegedly involved several TDP leaders and people might not come forward to give evidences.

The Chief Minister sought all the details ahead of the public inquiry to be held by Revenue Minister KE Krishna Murthy at the Collectorate here on June 15.

But the inquiry is being viewed as a mere eyewash. Even senior minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu himself openly alleged at a public forum during the inaugural day of Nava Nirmaan Deeksha on Friday that several TDP were leaders were involved in the scam.

Patrudu alleged that the police were also involved in the scam though filed a PD case against the realtor, which many say an eyewash. TDP sources said the lands under dispute could cost more than Rs 25,000 crore.

Not only Ayyanna Patrudu, the BJP, CPM and YSRCP leaders have blamed the ruling party leaders and demanded a comprehensive inquiry.

The scam rocked the state bringing the construction activity to halt in the city. The District Collector, who admitted that there were 22 cases of tampering of revenue records, formed six teams to probe deep into the tampering of the records in the district.

He also suspended the tahsildars of Visakhapatnam rural and Bhimili after finding their direct involvement in the tampering. Both the officials facilitated the issue of pattadar passbooks in the name of private persons.

The passbooks include poramboke lands, government lands and even some of the lands belonging to private persons.

During the initial probe, the officials have identified that over 200 acres of the land, mostly government lands, worth over Rs 1,800 crore in Kommadi and about 45 acres of land in Madhurawada, which includes government and private lands costing about Rs 500 crore, have been tampered with.

The scamsters did not spare even the lands of Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and family in Bhimili. About 35 acres of the land belonging to them has been affected in the scam.

The revenue officials issued pattadar passbooks to private persons not even checking the original adangal records and later sold to some companies owned by private persons.

‘Mom’ trailer finds Sridevi again in peak form

Share

Mumbai: When it comes to Sridevi, adjectives and superlatives begin to pale and fail. In the trailer of her eagerly awaited new film “Mom”, she is seen at the peak of her performing power, furnishing an intensity and a heft far beyond what one expects in a film about the mother-daughter relationship.

The trailer, which released on Saturday, is swathed in mystery. We know nothing about the plot except that it is a mother-daughter story and for a change there are pretty strong male characters in this chick flick.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui (he plays a sleazeball named DK), Akshaye Khanna and Adnan Siddiqui leave a strong impact in the little that they are given to do in the trailer.

Nawazuddin, the chameleon of an actor, is seen in prosthetics for the first time. His balding pate and buck teeth stand out, as does his confrontation scene with Sridevi where she cynically tells Nawaz, “God can’t be everywhere.”

“That’s why he created the Mother,” retorts Nawaz.

It remains to be see how far this mother is willing to break the rules for her daughter’s sake. As expected, there are many moments of warm kinship between the one-and-only Sridevi and her screen daughter played by Sajal Ali. They reminded me of Waheeda Rehman and Sridevi in Yash Chopra’s “Lamhe”.

But the trailer gives nothing away as to the cause of the friction and drama between the mother and daughter. Who are the bad guys and who are the good guys in “Mom”? The trailer withholds this information.

What we can say with utmost certainty is that Sridevi delivers yet another powerhouse performance. As mom to a teenage daughter, she looks ten years younger than her real age and ten times wiser than any mother put in a situation of crisis that seems to demand intuition.

Debutant director Ravi Udyawar seems to have handled the incredibly talented star-actress without keeling over in awe. The narrative has a balanced, even and unostentatious feel to it. “Mom” looks like another winner for the mighty Sridevi.

Pooja Stretches A Little Extra For Bunny!

Pooja posted a funny picture on Twitter where she is sweating it out during rehearsals while Bunny is just sitting and relaxing.

Do They Take People For Fools?

Share

Members of the ‘Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi’ concluded a 96-hour deeksha at Vijayawada on Friday.

PCC President Raghuveera Reddy broke their fast by offering them lemon juice and speaking on the occasion, promised that AP would get ‘special status’ in 2019. This can only be possible if Congress comes to power at the Centre which as of now seems a distant reality.

But the point is: do these politicians take the people of AP for fools? We all remember Venkaiah Naidu promising SCS to AP in Rajya Sabha and subsequently going back on his word.

Instead of putting pressure on the BJP, we have a CM who is only interested in the welfare of his community and is a lame duck when it comes to dealing with the saffron batch.

Now Raghuveera Reddy is shamelessly coming out with another promise. If the Congress is really concerned about the welfare of the people of AP, then in 2019, Raghuveera should promise that bifurcation would be revoked. Can he promise that?
