Guru Hits Hard On Katamarayudu

Share

Untitled

Buyers of Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu who were hoping for the film to perform decently at least over the second weekend, didn’t get a respite as senior hero Venkatesh’s ‘Guru’ occupied the center stage at box office.

After raking in good numbers over the first weekend, Katamaaryudu saw huge dip on week days barring the Ugadi holiday. The film is anyway heading towards losses but buyers hoped that it will amass a pocketful of crores on its second Saturday and Sunday.

However, this week’s release ‘Guru’, which opened to decent word of mouth, trounced Katamarayudu and reportedly became the first preference of movie lovers during this weekend. The sports drama has reportedly performed better than its performance on the first two days and outshined Katamarayudu in the process.

With the unexpected domination from Guru, Katamarayudu may end up collecting a few cores less than what was predicted earlier. Buyers may lose to the tune of Rs 25 Cr on this Pawan – Shruti starrer.

Will Pawan Question Babu?

Share

pk

It’s been 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reshuffled his cabinet for the first time and still the tremors could be felt with mixed reaction from party insiders and a total backlash from Opposition parties.

Especially anointing of defected YSRCP MLAs into the cabinet has kicked up a major storm in political, media circuits given that Naidu himself had strongly found fault with Telangana CM KCR when he had made Talsani Srinivas Yadav (who won as MLA on TDP ticket) a minister. Even as the old videos of Naidu lashing out at KCR for the act are being played by TV channels and they’re shared widely on social platforms, TDP is visibly unfazed by the criticism.

While it’s clear that Naidu & his team have already prepared for this backlash and rubbing it off without paying much attention to it, the big question is how its ally and supporter Janasena would take this. Given that Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has been vocal about ethical, moral politics, certainly this is not the move he would welcome.

With this act, Naidu has pushed Pawan into a state that he has to blame the opportunistic politics of TDP and distance himself from the ruling party which seems to have achieved very little ever since it came to power in 2014. Amidst accusations and allegations that Pawan has been a ‘dummy’ in the hands of Naidu, it’s the time for Pawan to prove all of them wrong by exposing TDP.  It’s clear that TDP is just surviving with the repeated faults of Opposition and its leader YS Jagan. And it can’t be continued for long as at anytime people would feel sympathise with Jagan and miffed with TDP’s tall claims that’s lacking proof on the ground.

However, there’s a small and smart tactic played by Naidu. By including Bhuma Akhila Priya into the cabinet who lost her father Bhuma Nagi Reddy in an untimely death, Naidu has made it difficult for Pawan who has openly condoled and said Bhuma was close to him during the times of PRP. If Pawan directly opposes the move of including defected YSRCP leaders into the cabinet, invariably he ends up opposing Bhuma Akhila Priya’s anointment of minister which isn’t comfortable for Pawan.

Barring this, it’s the time for Pawan to point out the holes in TDP government for which he rallied in 2014 elections. The big question is will Pawan question Naidu? Will Pawan take clear stand against TDP?

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has evolved into box office behemoth in the past couple pf years. Together with Aamir Khan, he has pushed the global superstar Shah Rukh Khan far behind in the BO race.

With the last two releases of the actor – Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan turning out to be huge money spinners, the actor’s new release ‘Tubelight’ has become the hottest cake in market now. The film’s theatrical rights were already sold for a record price of Rs 130Cr+ and now, as per media reports, the Salman starrer has struck an unbelievable deal.

Reportedly, the audio rights of Tubelight were sold to Sony for Rs 20 crore. This is the biggest deal for the music of any film till date. And, what makes this deal even more lucrative is that the album doesn’t have 5-6 songs as regular films do but only 3 songs. Rs 20 crore for 3 songs is a phenomenal deal which none but Salman Khan’s stardom could have pulled off.

‘Tubelight’ is being directed by Kabir Khan, who has earlier directed the superstar in BO juggernauts such as Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The film is slated to hit screens for Ramzan this year, on 23rd June.

'Will Quit as MLA & Start New Political Party If Needed'

The cabinet expansion by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has kicked up a storm in AP TDP as party senior leaders and several senior workers expressed their angst, dissatisfaction.

Former Environment & Forests minister and Srikalahasthi MLA Bojja Gopala Krishna Reddy, who is one among the five outsed ministers, has immediately put in his papers to both ministry & MLA seat as soon as the decision came in. While Bonda Uma was persuaded by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani and Bandar MP Narayana, the tremors could felt as the list of disappointed MLAs is large.

While the induction of Jammalamadugu MLA Adi Narayana Reddy into cabinet hasn’t gone well with others in the region, the elevation of West Godavari district’s Achanta MLA Pitani Satyanarayana come as a shocker to Dendulur MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar and his followers.

Questioning the decision, Chintamaneni supporters alleged that Pitani had put cases against several TDP workers during Congress rule, they asked how could a person who was behind cases on TDP workers could get ministry in TDP rule. Speaking to media, Chintamaneni announced his resignation to his MLA seat.

While maintaining that he wouldn’t join anyother political party, he stated that he would even float a new political party if required. He said that he would like to meet CM Chandrababu and submit his resignation.

Family Behind Bojjala Losing Ministry?

Share

bojja

Ever since AP CM Chandrababu Naidu reshuffled his cabinet and ousted five incumbent ministers on Sunday, all eyes are on TDP senior leader and Srikalahasthi MLA Bojjala Krishna Reddy. While Bojjala has already submitted his resignation to ministry and also sent his resignation of MLA seat to the Speaker and communicated the same to the house leader Chandrababu,

In fact, Bojjala was so close to Chandrababu as he was injured along with Naidu in Alipiri blast in October 2003. Since then Chandrababu has good bond with Bojjala and this was one of the reasons for including him the cabinet after Naidu came back to power in 2014. However, it’s learnt that Bojjala’s lack of grip on his ministry and domination of his son in his ministry and role of his wife in his constitution are said to be reasons behind his removel from the ministry.

Apparently, Naidu has received several complaints against Bojjala with the involvement of his son Bojjala Sudheer Reddy and his wife Brundamma in Srikalahasthi constituency. Also, the corruption allegations against his son and becoming power centre in Forest ministry haven’t gone well with CM Naidu. Bojjala reportedly couldn’t control them as they have gone out of his hand and he couldn’t help but apparently became a mute spectator resulting in inviting Naidu’s ire.

All these factors said to have resulted in Bojjala losing his ministry. Now that he has also resigned to his MLA seat, it needs to be seen, what’s in store for him.
