After disappointing the mega family two times, Vytla was once again lucky to direct another mega family hero, Varun Tej in his new film ‘Mister’. The film’s audio launch event has been planned on March 29 at JRC Convection Centre in Hyderabad. Megastar Chiranjeevi will reportedly attend the event as chief guest.

Chiru played a cameo in Ram Charan’s ‘Bruce Lee’ as he felt that the film will be very special in his son’s career. Vytla however wasted the opportunity and rumors were spread at that time that Chiru was very disappointed with him.

Now, as the Megastar is attending the Mister audio launch event as chief guest, what he will speak about Vytla has become an interesting topic. Will he resort to soft criticism?

Known to be an astute speaker, Megastar might use his sugar-coated tongue irrespective of what his real feelings might be. Lets wait and see.

Naga Chaitanya Akkineni has announced that the first look of his new film, tentatively being referred as #NC13, will be unveiled on the eve of Ugadhi festival, on March 29. But, there is a twist here.

Chiatu said that as the producer and director of his film couldn’t decide on one poster, they will release two first looks posters instead, One is director’s preference and the other is producer’s. Now, Akkineni fans have got twin reasons to wait for the festival.

#NC13 is being directed by ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ fame Kalyan Krishna and produced by Nagarjuna under Annapurna Studios banner. ‘Ra Randoy Veduka Chuddam’ is the possibe title of this romantic entertainer. Rakul Preet Singh is the leading lady.

Comedian turned producer of high budget movies, Bandla Ganesh is one of the luckiest filmmakers to have got the opportunity of making two back to back films with Pawan Kalyan. The self-proclaimed devotee of Pawan is now reportedly planning another film with Pawan and the director is VV Vinayak.

In his 15 year long career, VV Vinayak has time and again tried to get the nod of Pawan Kalyan but the project never materialized. Now, Bandla has reportedly initiated discussions with Vinayak and Pawan for a powerful mass entertainer with an underlying message for society.

Pawan has already committed for two movies. After Trivikram’s project, he will act in Tamil director Neeson’s direction for the rumored remake of ‘Vedhalam’. We will be in 2018 by the time he completes both these films. Later, the Jana Sena founder will be fully immersed in political campaign in view of 2019 assembly elections.

Bandla and Vinayak’s plan is to prepare a message-oriented mass subject, on the lines of Megastar’s ‘Tagore’, by early 2018 keeping Pawan’s filmy and political image in mind. The story will be laced with Pawan’s ideologies it is heard.
The target is to release the film for Sankranthi 2019, just 2-3 months ahead of Assembly elections. Bandla is aiming to satisfy the mass fan base of Pawan and also take his political image to new heights. If the message is well received by people and the film becomes a hit, it will surely help Pawan and his party in elections.

It may be recalled that NTR Sr has also done message oriented commercial movies right before he plunged into politics. Can Pawan recreate the unbelievable feat pulled off by the late legend?

The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states have sent notices to the producers of Gautamiputra Satakarni and Rudhramadevi. Acting on a PIL (Public Interest Litigation), the High Court asked the producers to file a counter within two weeks.

The petitioner argued that the Entertainment Tax exemption given to the films by the state governments should belong to the public exchequer and asked the court to look into the matter. The petitioner has cited the Tamil Nadu High Court’s verdict regarding the tax exemption to a film as the example.

Satakarni producers Rajeev Reddy, Saibabu and Rudhramadevi producers Gunasekhar and Raagini Guna have been named by the petitioner as the respondents. While Satakarni had received exemption from both the Telugu states, Rudhramadevi had been waived off the E.T only by the Telangana state government.

Both the films were historical films that have significance with rich culture, heritage of Telugus. And interestingly both the films were commercial success at the Box Office. It has to be seen how the respondents would justify the tax waive off and at the same time, how the state governments would justify the act.

After the success of ‘Sarrainodu’, Tamil hero Aadi Pinisetty has found new craze in Tollywood. Although he was earlier seen in a handful of direct and dubbed films playing lead roles, it was the villain role in Sarrainodu that cast a magical spell on his career.

As per latest reports, Aadi has been signed by Trivikram to play the main baddie opposite Pawan Kalyan in his new film. Reportedly, when Aadi was offered the film, he couldn’t say no to a project as big as this. Moreover, Trivikram has designed a sophisticated yet ruthless character for him which has great scope for performance.

Producer Raj Kanduri, who scored the biggest small budget blockbuster in the recent times with ‘Pelli Choopulu’, has taken up another interesting project as his next film.

Titled “Mental Madhilo”, the romantic comedy will feature Sree Vishnu in lead role and it is being directed by Vivek Athreya. ‘Manavi Aalakincharadate’ is the tag line. Shooting is currently under progress. The film’s first look is released now.

Devi Sri Prasad’s walkout from Gautamiputra Satakarni had been talked about. And there had been several speculations over Krish replacing Devi with Chirantan Bhatt. However, after the film went onto become highest-ever grosser in Balakrishna’s career, this issue had been dropped by media, others.

If wee see the film’s background score, he nailed it,” said Krish. The acclaimed director also credits veteran lyricist Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry for his praise-worthy lyrics for the songs.

Very rarely we do see married actresses shedding that weight after pregnancy! But actress Sneha, who’s tied knot with actor Prasanna, successfully underwent some weight loss and grabbed opportunities in like Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam as well. After waiting for more than a decade, the fans of Pawan Kalyan had full satiation by watching their favorite actor’s mass entertainer ‘Gabbar Singh’ (2012). Ever since, their wait continues for another such film.

Although Pawan scored industry hit with Attharintiki Daredi (2013), it was a family entertainer. Later, the matinee idol had two other big opportunities in the form of ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Katamarayudu’ to satisfy his huge mass fan base. Pawan’s next film, a Trivikram directorial, has the actor playing a software engineer. Trivikram’s films generally cater to all sections of audiences, mainly family. Fans can expect a power packed entertainer this time but not a typical mass entertainer given Pawan’s character, IT analyst.

Next in the line is ‘Vedhalam’ remake, which is another mass entertainer. But, the remake tag is again a big hurdle for the movie. As the 2019 elections are also approaching, how many more movies Pawan will do is a moot question. ‘Can we see Pawan again in a feisty mass film?,’ wonder Pawan fans.

Known is that hunk hero Prabhas will be featuring in youngster Sujith’s upcoming movie whose shooting already got started. Their plan is to release a teaser of the movie along with Baahubali: The Conclusion such that audience will know what to expect from Prabhas’ next.

Katamarayudu has reportedly generated a weekend share of around Rs 35 Cr (from 2 telugu states) which is not a mean task. Given that Pawan Kalyan’s films pull crowds to theatres for at least two weeks notwithstanding the odds, Katamarayudu may have decent run, if not exceptional until another potential film hits screens.

Even the biggest debacle of Pawan, Sardaar Gabbar Singh collected around Rs 50 Cr share. Pawan is the only star whose films run for a few weeks even with disaster talk whereas the films of his competitors, falls flat on their faces on the first day itself in case of disaster word of mouth, say trade experts.

Given these statistics, Katamarayudu may end up around 50 crore share in the worst case scenario. While 50 Cr is considered landmark for some heroes, Pawan’s films are called disasters given the sky high pre-release businesses.

The budget of Katamarayudu was said to be close to Rs 20 Cr to 25 Cr, barring Pawan Kalyan’s remuneration. There is no other big name involved in the film except Shruti Haasan. The film was intended to be a compensatory project for Sardaar buyers but the makers once again repeated their mistake and sold the rights to humongous Rs 85 Cr.

Given the meager budget involved in the making, had the makers sold the rights for affordable prices, Katamarayudu would have been a safe if not profitable venture. The over-enthusiasm of buyers is also a reason for escalating pre-release businesses of biggies.

Buyers must also administer caution while acquiring rights for unrecoverable prices. There is no use crying and protesting after films flop at box office.
