After Mahesh babu and Venkatesh, Puri Jagannath has reportedly taken his prestigious project, ‘Jana Gana Mana’ to Balakrishna Nandamuri.

Post the success of Gautamiputra Satakarni, Balayya has been indulged in discussions with several directors but he is yet to give his nod to one. Puri Jagannath was sometime ago in news to have been zeroed in on as a probable director to helm the biopic of Sr NTR. As the script work for that legendary project is still in progress, Puri has reportedly narrated the subject of ‘Jana Gana Mana’ to Balayya.

After Mahesh didn’t show keenness to do it, Puri took this subject to Venkatesh. Although the senior hero liked it, the project didn’t materialize given the high budget, close to Rs 45 Cr involved. As Baayya has just hit Rs 50 Cr club with GPS, Puri is reportedly trying to get the assent of the ‘Legend’ star for his pet project.

If Balayya gives his nod to Puri, this project would go on floors next month itself. Senior Tamil director KS Ravi Kumar’s name is also strongly heard as a probable director for Balayya’s 101st project. For now, Nandamuri fans are eagerly waiting for an official announcement from their favorite hero.

Ever since the trailer of upcoming Bollywood film ‘Rangoon’ was released, people had one doubt, whether Kangana Ranaut really went nude for love making scenes or she was shown nude using camera tricks and dupe?

There have been several discussions on Kangana’s nudity in Rangoon. While some believed that being an audacious actress, Kangana might have really acted nude and others said that a dupe must have been used for the particular lovemaking scenes.

Why dwell upon these discussions when we can get an unfiltered answer from the no-holds-barred Kangana herself? When the ‘Queen’ actress was asked about the same during a recent interview, she confessed that no dupe was used and she herself volunteered to go nude.

‘What is the necessity of using a dupe when i was willing to go nude?’ asked the bold actress. ‘Neither a camera trick nor a dupe was used for those scenes. I have no qualms in stripping off my clothes if the scene demands,’ added the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress hinting that she would do it again in case of script requirement.

Rangoon is slated to hit screens on Feb 24.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s commitment towards his films needs no introduction. The ‘Gona Gannareddy’ character essayed by Bunny in ‘Rudhramadevi’ is a fine example. Reportedly, Bunny has stopped eating meat for the past six months as he was essaying a brahmin character. The Sarrainodu star has turned into a complete vegetarian to bring authenticity to his character. His dialect and diction will also be the highlights of his character, say reports.

Ever since the first look of DJ was unveiled a few days ago, the Harish Shankar directorial has become talk of the town. Being a Brahmin himself, Harish Shankar has reportedly taken special care while sketching the character of Bunny.

In the past, some filmmakers targeted Brahmins with crude jokes and derogatory comments in their films and they had to face sever flak from the community. DJ however won’t have any such cheap jokes against the Brahmin community.

Buoyed with the success of his latest film ‘Nenu Local’, Natural Star Nani is gearing up for a big announcement about his new film.

It is know that Nani is currently busy shooting for an untitled film in the US in the direction of debutante Siva Nirvana. DVV Danayya is producing this film. The noted producer has now revealed that he would make a formal announcement of the title of his production venture starring Nani on the actor’s birthday, February 24. Film’s first look will also be unveiled besides the title.

Also starring Nivetha Thomas and Aadi Pinisetty in key roles, this untitled film has screenplay and dialogues penned by Kona Venkat. The current schedule will last till March 10. Most of the shoot will take place in the US only. Makers are reportedly targeting July 2017 release.

Nani already has lined up Venu Sriram’s directorial next. Looking at the speed of Nani, he will have at least three releases this year also.

Suriya’s Singam 3 or S3 might have garnered mixed reviews and even audiences response to the film is reasonably good. In fact, S3 got better response from crowd compared to Nag’s Om Namo Venkatesaya. Yet S3 would not be termed as a hit given that the film is sold for high distribution rates.

On other hand, S3 would join the list of Suriya’s failures. Suriya’s last film 24 too failed to meet the high expectations. While the film has done well in Telugu, the film ended as a failure in Tamil. Overall, 24 is declared as a Box Office failure despite garnering rave reviews.

The other flops of Suriya were Rakshasudu (Massu Engira Masilamani) and Sikandar (Anjaan). Even Rakshadu got average reviews but that didn’t translate into commercial success. Whereas Sikander is a disappointment both critically and commercially not up to the mark.

Suriya’s last hit film was Singam 2 aka Yamudu 2. Now, Suriya is under pressure to choose his films wisely. Although he has good following in Telugu, Tamil, if his flop streak continues, this would affect his stardom in the long run.

Raking up good numbers in the first weekend is one thing and sustaining momentum in the week days is another thing. Rana Daggubati’s underwater drama ‘Ghazi’ has passed both these tests.

After posting impressive numbers in its first weekend, Ghazi has performed steadily on first Monday as well.

How the film sustains competition from next week biggies like Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Winner’ and Vijay Antony’s ‘Yaman’ is crucial to decide where the film ends up.

In a first of its kind, the regional Censor Board in Hyderabad was attacked on Tuesday morning. Apparently, six unidentified men, susected to be the students of OU JAC, have trespassed into Censor Office in Gandhinagar and resorted to violence over Censor’s denial to pass “Saranam Gachchami” film that is based on the reservation system.

Students said to have displaced the files in Censor Office and property like chairs, furniture were broken expressing angst for not passing the film.

Cops have registered cases for trespassing, physical attack. A detailed probe is ordered. Investigation is ordered and video footage is being verified. Meanwhile, the producer and director of the film have distanced from the attack and claimed innocence. More details are yet to be known.

The alleged abduction and molestation of Malayalam actress Bhavana has been the talking point. Responding on the shocking incident where the Mahatma heroine was physically abused in a moving car by her former driver, Rakul Preet said, “My parents have always worried about my safety whenever I travel or shoot. But I often discard their “cautions” and tell them that they don’t know. I was very confident about my safety as I’m surrounded by my driver, my staff whenever I go out. But the incident of Bhavana has shocked me. It felt me scared and realised no one is safe.”

Rakul Preet further added that there’s no point in celebrating women’s day, mother’s day as long as men don’t respect women around them. She demanded that the guilty should be given serious punishment so that no one would resort to such acts again.

Rakul, who herself is a fitness freak and running a gym, says women need to be self-defensive. If she comes across such terrible situation, Rakul says she would punch the goons. “I don’t think. I’ll beat them up,” said Rakul.

However good the films are made, making the audiences of this generation sit for three hours in theatres has become a monumental task for filmmakers. This has been proved by the failure of several good yet lengthy films at box office.

In order not to take such risk, makers of highly awaited upcoming bollywood film ‘Rangoon’, have reportedly re-edited the film and cut it short by close to 40 minutes. The original runtime during the censor certification was 2 hours and 47 minutes and it is reduced to just over 2 hours now.

The decision to trim the film just a few days ahead of its release was voluntarily taken by film’s producers, director Vishal Bharadwaj and his creative team. ‘Although the film turned out to be an extremely well-packaged product, we had to cut some good scenes in order to make the film more engaging for today’s generation,’ a member from the unit reportedly said.

The film starring Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor is all set to hit screens on February 24.
