Megastar Chiranjeevi and Suriya will lend their voice for the Telugu and Tamil versions of Rana Daggubati and Taapse Pannu starrer upcoming Telugu-Hindi bilingual war drama “Ghazi”.

“Chiranjeevi sir will lend his voice for the Telugu version of “Ghazi”, and Suriya for the Tamil version. Their voices will be used to narrate some crucial part of the story. Both of them are very excited to be part of the project,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Amitabh Bachchan has already lent his voice for the Hindi version which is titled “The Ghazi Attack”.

Directed by Sankalp Reddy, the film is about the mysterious sinking of Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi off India’s eastern seaboard during the 1971 war.

The film is partially based on the book “Blue Fish”, penned by Sankalp himself.

While Rana will be seen as a naval officer, Taapsee will be playing a refugee.

The film also stars Nassar, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and late Om Puri in one of his last appearances.

Produced by PVP Cinema, the film is gearing up for release on February 17.

Karan Johar and Anil Thadani will release the film in Hindi.

Reports have it that Balakrishna may team up with director KS Ravi Kumar for his 101st film. Industry insiders say that Ravi Kumar has recently met Balayya and narrated him a story. Balayya is impressed with it but he hasn’t confirmed anything yet.

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that the story KS Ravi Kumar told to Balayya was originally meant to Chiranjeevi. Since Chiru has already fixed his 151st with Surender Reddy under Ram Charan’s production, KS Ravi Kumar said to have told the same story to Balayya and Balayya readily liked it.

Five months ago, ace director KS Ravi Kumar had met Chiru and discussed about films. Apparently, Chiru had asked KS Ravi Kumar to prepare the script for him and he said he’d work with him after his 150th film.

Since Chiru anounced his 151st with Surender Reddy and 152nd with Boyapati Sreenu, KS Ravi Kumar said to have moved onto Balayya.

Meanwhile, Balayya has put Krishna Vamsi’s Rythu on hold. Also Balayya liked director SV Krishna Reddy’s script as well. This is also under consideration.

KS Ravi Kumar had worked with stars like Rajini, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi. He had directed Sneham Kosam with Chiru, and it didn’t do well then.

Dil Raju, the master filmmaker who brought back the multistarrer genre to tollywood by convincing both Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh to act together in SVSC, might next assemble NTR and Balayya for a powerful project.

As per reports, Dil Raju has a sensational subject in which there is scope for two powerful characters – father and son. The first choice of Raju is NTR and Balayya. Given Dil Raju’s acquaintance with NTR, he could well convince him but getting Balayya’s nod might be tough. In such case, Dil Raju is toying with a few other options.

If not Balayya-NTR, he has Balayya-Mokshaga combo in mind. Given that Balayya is keen to share screen space with his son, this combo is a possibility. But, can Mokshagna do justice to a powerful character at the very beginning of his career, this is said to be the doubt in Dil Raju’s mind.

NTR-Nagarjuna is another option. It may be recalled that the duo was earlier supposed to work together in ‘Oopiri’. NTR was the first choice to play the character essayed by Karthi but things didn’t materialize then. It would be interesting to see an Akkineni-Nandamuri multistarrer with a subject having powerful characters for both father and son.

Keeping all these aside, the safest and easiest option before Dil Raju is Nagarjuna-Naga Chaitanya. In fact, during the promotions of his latest film Shatamanam Bhavati, Raju divulged that he would soon make a film starring the Akkineni father-son duo. Nag however condemned this news as he was reportedly miffed with Raju announcing the film even before the Akkineni heroes had given their nod.

However, it must be admitted that no combination could be as powerful as Balayya-NTR. It would be a festival for not just Nandamuri fans but entire Telugu film lovers if the two mass heroes give their nod.

Puri Jagannadh is my favourite director as he makes what he narrates. He wraps up film in the time frame. He’s passionate and perfect filmmaker. Trivikram Srinivas is great director.

Upcoming Films

Planning to make small & medium-budget films. Going to do a film with Srikanth Addala. I’ll launch many new directors from now onwards. I had feeling that small-budget films would incur losses. But now I realised that even small films could do well if good content is there.

Future Plans

I want to build a studio. I want to make one boy as producer and took care of my banner Parameswara Arts & my studio. I’ll make my another son to handle my poultry business.

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film ‘Raees’ has received mixed to negative reviews but the film’s box office performance is sublime.

After raking in Rs 20.42 Cr on its opening day, which was a non-holiday, Raees collected Rs 26.30 Cr on the Republic Day to take its total to Rs 46.72 Cr in just two days. The numbers are excellent given that the SRK starrer has had a huge clash with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’.

In overseas, Raees collected Rs 9.53 Cr in the first two days. If compare these numbers with the films of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, it can be sadly said that SRK has fallen behind in the box office race. However, given the not so favorable reviews, SRK must be happy with his film’s BO performance.

Raees is expected to deliver the goods nonthless by taking advantage of the 5-day extended Republic Day weekend. With steady collections, the film is expected to become a hit, giving a relief to SRK who had tasted a flop with ‘Fan’ in his last attempt.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is always hailed for his positive, sensible and appreciating speeches at any film events that are related not just to mega family but other celebs as well. Other day while attending as chief guest for Satamanam Bhavati success meet, he made some interesting comments as well, but this time they are not sweet enough to make fans merry.

As Chiranjeevi stated that Jayasudha is also one of those inspiration for coming back to films, cinema critics are laughing big time while mega fans are getting hurt. “When I saw Jayasudha, I always felt like we could travel on two boats at a time- politics and movies, and then decided that I should also try the same”, he said. Is this truly true for anyone to believe?

Apparently requests from millions of fans to comeback into films, pressure from his peers like Rajnikanth and Amitabh Bachhan, demand from his own family’s heroes for his return to silver screen are said to be the motivating factors for Chiranjeevi to comeback into films and do his 150th film first. But never anyone thinks that the Megastar will take a clue from Jayasudha to comeback into movies and travel on two boats.

If we have to speak from political dais, Chiranjeevi’s Congress Party is not in power after losing big time in 2014 to BJP backed brigade. So literally since 2019 he will not have any work on hand, and that could be another factor for him to consider a hand at films yet again. But surely Jayasudha never comes into picture, even though Chiru might have taken a speck of inspiration from her.

Popular film producer Aswini Dutt has made sensational remarks. When questioned about the ongoing demand of Special Category Status to AP that gripped the state, Aswini Dutt harshly reacted and said those who’re demanding Special Status have no wisdom.

Aswini Dutt claimed that there’s no one like AP CM Chandrababu Naidu who works day and night for the state. “Congress had divided the united state and did great damage to the state. Chandrababu Naidu is carrying of the burden of the new state on his shoulders and working hard. Few people are trying to dethrone him from the position and want to come into power. What they will do after coming to power? They’ll loot more. No one will support such selfish politicians,” said Aswini Dutt after visiting Lord Balaji in Tirumala.

Bollywood has witnessed a saddening and disheartening incident on Friday when one of the most talented filmmakers of this generation was grabbed and slapped by a group of protesters in Jaipur.

Going into news- the ace director, master story teller Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is well known for making several classics in Hindi Cinema, had this very unpleasant experience on the sets of his upcoming film ‘Padmavati’.

A few angry members of Rajput Karni Sena, who allege that the director is misshaping historical story of ‘queen Padmini’, has barged into the sets and destroyed them after attacking director and destroying the shooting equipment.

Karni Sena, a Rajput caste organization, claimed their attacks as a response to the love scenes between Padmini and Aladdin Khilji in the film. According to protesters, ‘Bhansali is picturing a false version of queen who actually took her life rather than submitting to Alauddin Khilji.

The protesters have further demanded the filmmaker to project queen Padmini in good light by deleting the love scenes with Khilji. While Deepika Padukone is playing Padmini’s role, Ranvir Singh is donning the character of Khilji.

Shocked with physical attack on Bhansali, Bollywood expressed its complete support and many took to Twitter to stand by him. Starting from Bhansali’s fellow filmmakers to actors and actresses of Bollywood, almost everyone felt strongly for him and expressed their feelings.

Hrithik Roshan said, ‘Mr. Bhansali , Sir. I stand with you. This is so infuriating!!!!’

Farhan Akthar tweeted, ‘My fellow film folk, if we do not unite now against these recurring incidents of bullying, it’s going to get much worse. #IstandbySLB’

Karan Johar said, ‘Am appalled at what has happened with Sanjay Bhansali….this is the time  for all us as an industry to stand by our people and fraternity!!’

Other Bollywood people who stood in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali include Arjun Rampal, Alia Bhatt, Shreya Goshal, Yami Gautam and many. However, the main cast of the film did not offer any comment yet.

Don’t get a shocker by the heading, as that’s not real. But this is what ‘Sukumar Writings’ is saying to everyone, thereby creating a sensation on YouTube. Let’s get into the details.

Inside the film “Kumari 21F”, a gang of friends of hero (played by Raj Tarun) actually sedate the movie’s heroine (Hebah Patel) and then molest her (of course raped her). When scenes from this film are being uploaded officially, one doesn’t expect this molestation scene to surface. Even this scene surfaced, many expect headings like: “Hero’s realisation scene from Kumari 21F”. But cutting this scene out, Sukumar’s own production house “Sukumar Writings” has uploaded it with the title “Raj Tarun Freinds Molest Hebah Patel after Sedating her”.

As you could read between the lines, it could be understand that the mere thought process behind such creation is only to ‘sensationalise’ the content. Some other headings for clips include “Raj Tarun Tries To Force Hebah”, “Raj Tarun Goes To His New Girl Friend”, “Kumari Goes Topless For Raj”. These are only a few titbits to tell what’s being done on the YouTube channel.

With a talented and star director like Sukumar owning the YouTube channel as well, one wonders why such a content is being uploaded to create a sensation. This banner doesn’t need such, does it?

Cinema has the power to recreate any real-life scenario, says actor Rana Daggubati as he gears up for the release of Telugu-Hindi bilingual “Ghazi”, India’s first submarine warfare film based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistani submarine, during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

For Rana, “Ghazi” was an important tale to tell.

Explaining why he decided to do the film in between the two parts of Rajamouli’s “Baahubali”, Rana told IANS: “Post ‘Baahubali’, everybody would have expected me to do a commercial film. But I chose ‘Ghazi’ because it has an interesting story to tell. Although made as a bilingual and also dubbed in Tamil, this is a national film.”

“The story is about India and Pakistan. It’s set in Visakhapatnam, making it a Telugu film. We’ve also dubbed it in Tamil. The Hindi theatrical rights have been bagged by Karan Johar and Anil Thadani, who will release it across the country.”

Rana is fast becoming the go-to person for larger-than-life stories. With “Ghazi” and his upcoming Tamil war-based film “Madai Thiranthu”, he says he enjoys being a part of such projects because they are “rare” in Indian cinema.

“As a movie lover, these are the kind of films I have watched and enjoyed growing up. The story of ‘Ghazi’ is very historic and one that’s not known to all. It’s a story that deserves to be told, but such stories are rarely made,” he said.

“If not for cinema, these stories will remain history. The whole sinking of PNS Ghazi could be recreated only because we decided to make it as a film. Cinema has that power to bring such stories to life. It can recreate any scenario,” he added.

From playing King Bhallaladeva in “Baahubali” to a navy officer in Ghazi, Rana admits the transition was very challenging.

“Bhallaladeva as a character is very tough to come out of, because it’s so overpowering and larger-than-life. The challenge in ‘Ghazi’ was to get my look right. When you watch both the films, you realise I don’t look like the same person. I could only achieve it due to rigorous cardio training and then I had to do a lot of underwater training because the film features underwater sequences,” he said.

Talking about playing a navy officer and shooting inside a submarine, he said the experience was “claustrophobic” at times.

“It was not an easy film to shoot. Initially, the idea felt so exciting. But until we started shooting, we didn’t realise how challenging it was. You are inside a submarine for the longest time and you don’t know the difference between day and night,” he said.

“After a month of shooting, I knew a lot of actors started to feel very claustrophobic. There were occasions when we didn’t see sunlight for days together. This is when we decided to take a break and shoot other portions which happen on land,” he added.

Directed by Sankalp Reddy, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon and Om Puri. Produced by PVP Cinema, it is slated for release on February 17.

The album of Nani’s upcoming film ‘Nenu Local’ is already into market. Although Devi Sri Prasad has composed five songs for this movie, the chartbuster ‘Next Enti’ song is making all the right noise for this forthcoming entertainer.

‘Next Enti’ was the first single from ‘Nenu Local’ to have been released ahead of Sankranthi festival. Although the impact of the song wasn’t felt initially amidst the storm of ‘Khaidi No.150’ album, it was slowly picked by Telugu youth and it has now become a rage.

The catchy lyrics describing the plight of unemployed youth who just finished their studies and the peppy tune worked in tandem to make this song connect well with youth. Quirky lines like ‘Bulb ni chese time lo Edison garini Kalisesi…Next entante paripodaa bulb ni vadilesi’ connected instantly with the youth who is confused about future.

The song is currently topping the charts of FM channels and doing the bulk of promotion needed for the February 3rd release, ‘Nenu Local’.
