Jagan Moved Quickly To Pawan's Demand!

Share

pk

Power star and Jana Sena party president Pawan Kalyan reacts spontaneously to any public issue but mostly confines his outburst to social media platform twitter. He gets into action only if he finds time off his busy shooting schedule and plans the programme well in advance.

So, when Tamils launched the huge movement for Jallikattu, Pawan was one of the few Telugu personalities to react quickly, appreciating the fighting spirit of the people of the neighbouring state.

He was also the first person to call for a similar movement by Telugu people on the demand for special category status for Andhra Pradesh and wanted them to launch an agitation at R K Beach in Visakhapatnam on January 26. However, he did not announce any action programme of his own.

This is where YSR Congress party got into action. It lost no time in announcing the massive rally at R K Beach, besides candle rallies in all parts of the state to demand special category status. YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy gave a personal appeal to all the youth to join the agitation.

Now, everybody started responding to Jagan. His call has gone viral in all the social media platforms evoking spontaneous response. Even actors like Sampoornesh Babu and Tanish have responded to Jagan’s call and extended support to R K Beach rally.

The advantage of Jagan is that he has a huge party network and he can get the work done within no time. That is what is lacking in Pawan!

Why Link Jallikattu With Special Status?

Share

Chandrababu-Naidu-2

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has found fault with the Opposition parties, including Jana Sena headed by power star Pawan Kalyan, for linking Jallikattu movement with special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

“What is the connection between Jallikattu and special category status? If there is any injustice to the state, I will be in the forefront to fight the Centre. There is absolutely no need to follow the Jallikattu type of agitation which is no way connected with the issues in Andhra Pradesh. The youth should understand this and not fall prey to the designs of the opposition parties,” Naidu said, interacting with the media in Vijayawada after his return from Davos.

The chief minister explained that he was maintaining friendly relations with the Centre only for the benefit of the state.

“We have accepted the special package in lieu of special category status, since we need funds for the development of the state. There is no point in indulging in confrontation with the Centre,” he said.

However, there are hardly any takers for Naidu’s argument. There is definitely link between Jallikattu movement and special category status demand. Both are emotional issues – first one for Tamils and the second for Andhra people. If Tamils can achieve their demand by agitation, why can’t Telugus do it to bring pressure on the Centre?

As Pawan Kalyan rightly said Naidu might have compromised with the Centre, but people have not. They will have to follow the Jallikattu model to achieve their demand. What is Naidu going to lose?

Moving on, here is a sensational news that is being heard in film circles as the duo of Superstar and Mega Powerstar are getting ready to join hands for a business venture.

Since the release of “Srimanthudu”, Mahesh Babu started having this new like for Ram Charan as this mega hero is the only star who called and appreciated the former for his risking move which made 85+ crores share at box office. To strengthen their bond of friendship, recently Mahesh and Charan along with their spouses have spent a holiday together in Switzerland to celebrate the new year eve. That’s not all, we have Charan and Upasna as chief guests at Namrata’s 45th birthday celebrations other day. News is coming out that Upasna has now convinced both Charan and Mahesh to invest together in a new venture.

While Ram Charan is a keen investor who already owns lion share in TruJet Airlines, thanks to Upasna’s splendid entrepreneurial skills, Mahesh is completely new to this investing block. However he got convinced that like a Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi owned MAA TV and other Ventures together for a long time, even he could do similar kind of partnership with Charan. Though information related to their companies and investments isn’t divulged to any, we have a speck of access to it.

An insider shared, “Charan wants to build couple of hotel chains in India and Mahesh will be a partner in it. It may turns to be a huge venture. Already T Subbirami Reddy who has constructed a 7-star hotel in City and formed an allegiance with a leading hospitality partner to manage it, has stepped in to give tips to these two”

These enormous projects however take time to materialise, hope these two chase their targets easily in the new venture if they takes up.

Reportedly cupid struck on the sets and both instantly get along well. Though the Mallu beauty entered into Tollywood recently, she has got noticed with work and now she’s in the limelight as she also signed a big film.

It’s not new for young hero being linked up. In fact, earlier, marriage rumours of the him with the sister of a popular star’s wife cropped up, but hero had readily quashed them as false then.

One has to see now whether it’s just an attraction or a serious relationship or just another rumour.

Suriya Out, Dull Week Ahead for Tollywood

surya

As first reported by Gulte, Suriya has finally decided to postpone his film S3 – Yamudu 3. Considering special conditions in Tamil Nadu over Jallikattu sport, Suriya and producer Gnanvel Raja have postponed the film. The producer of the film’s Telugu version, Malkapuram Sivakumar to confirmed the development. The Telugu-Tamil bilingual was supposed to release on Jan 26.

However, this is not first time the film is getting postponed. It was already postponed twice. The action drama starring Suriya, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan was initially planned for Dec 16th release. Later, the film was pushed to Dec 23 release but after much thought it’s postponed to Jan 26th. But due to the ongoing protests in Tamil Nadu for lifting ban on Jallikattu permanently, there’s a turmoil and keeping these in mind, Suriya has come forward to defer the third installment of Singam franchise where he will be seen as DCP Narasimha.

The fresh release date of film would be announced once the Jallikattu issue settles down and peace prevails, a source close to the star told Gulte.

Initially, Venkatesh’s Guru was also planned for Jan 25 release, but for unknown reasons it has been pushed to April. With two big films being postponed and there’re no other releases lined up, looks like it’s going to be dull week for Tollywood unless until any other film makes it to the screens.

After Sankranti releases – Khaidi No.150, Gautamiputra Satakarni and Shatamanam Bhavati, no other film has seen the light of the day as all three were having a glorious run at the BO. Trade is expecting that no other releases for Republic Day may further boost the numbers of the Sankranti films. Let’s see what’s in store.

Hot Pic: Shriya Lifts Her Gown

Shriya Saran is the quintessential example for being the best of both worlds – traditional and modern worlds.

While she is the best choice for performing traditional roles that she portrayed in Gautamiputra Satakarni and Manam, she is equally best in revving up the glam quotient in commercial films.

In her latest steamy photoshoot, Shriya is seen raising her oomph and throwing challenge to younger lot of heroines. Shriya sizzled in a special designer gown recently and one must admit that she is ravishingly gorgeous. She proved that she doesn’t catch up with age and her beauty is ahead of it.

Needless to say that she will scorch screens if given hot roles. Directors, are you reading?

Fact Sheet: Look Who's Talking!

Mohammad Azharuddin has asked the judiciary to interfere and scrap the recent elections to the Hyderabad Cricket Association, stating that they were not held in conformity to rules.

Incidentally, Azhar had applied to contest as President of the Association, but his nomination was rejected by returning officer Rajeev Reddy as Azhar had failed to give a satisfactory explanation on whether the BCCI ban on him in the wake of the match-fixing scandal was lifted and that he failed to provide adequate proof that he was enrolled as a voter.

Azharuddin spoke to the media and terming the HCA election as a farce, said it was unfortunate that when the BCCI was looking the cleanse the sport of unwanted elements, the HCA elections were held which was against the spirit of the Board’s mission. If the Board really wanted to cleanse the sport of unwanted elements, then Azharuddin should be the last person to be in the fray.

The people of India showered their love and affection on him. He was made captain of the Indian cricket team but backstabbed the trust of the nation by fixing matches.

Responding to allegations, Azhar had then said that he was being targeted because he was from a minority community.

The Congress party made this great person an MP i.e. a person accused of match-fixing would now make laws for the people of India. How more ironical can it get?

Reel Buzz: Trend Reverse For Balayya

bala

Bala Krishna’s movies have a very good market in ceded area compared to other regions. Everyone in the industry knows this. His movies break even quickly in ceded region. But there has been a reverse in trend with Gautamiputra Satakarni.

While the movie has been doing well in urban centres like Vizag and other regions, it is slightly lagging behind in ceded region.

The reason could be that Gautamiputra is not a standard Balayya masala movie and is more of a classic movie preferred by multiplex and overseas audiences.

Having said that, the movie is definitely going to turn out to be a safe project for ceded buyers also. It’s only that this is the first time in recent memory that ceded was not in the forefront for a Balayya movie.

Any Takers For Pawan's Words In Tollywood?

After almost the entire Tamil film fraternity supported the Jallikattu movement taken upon by Tamil Nadu youth, even several Telugu film celebs including Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu tweeted in support of the movement undertaken to save their culture. Now, as AP youth are gearing up for a similar silent protest to achieve Special Status for the capital-less state, will the same Telugu celebs support our very own movement?

Although many Telugu celebs supported Jallikattu movement, it was Pawan Kalyan who played a crucial role in making the AP youth realize the power of silent protests. He already extended the full support of Jana Sena for the Special Status movement to take place on 26th January at RK beach in Vizag.

As Pawan has done his bit and helped the movement take birth, we need to see if other celebs join him and inspire their fans. They need not personally join the protest and a simple supportive tweet is enough to instill courage and dedication among their followers towards the movement.

As Mahesh was born and bred in Chennai, he must have felt the need to support Jallikattu, which was appreciable. However, it’s the Telugu people who made him a superstar and his support for the special status movement will definitely inspire his millions of fans to take part in the protest.

Jr NTR’s stand at this protest is also crucial as he too commands a huge fan base. However, his ties with ruling TDP are at stake if he supports this movement.

Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Prabhas and even megastar are mum on this. Probably, they are wary of the consequences if the protest turns violent. However, their support can create a huge impact on their fans.

On the other hand, some young heroes like Nikhil, Sundeep Kishan, Sampoornesh Babu, Siva Balaji and some filmmakers have also supported the movement with their tweets. Sundeep Kishan is gearing to even join the protest.

CM Chandrababu Naidu looks to be silently watching the happenings as he has neither condemned nor supported the movement.YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy has extended his support though.

Interestingly, TS youth are supporting the AP special status movement by creating awareness on social media.

Jallikattu Trouble For Suriya?

Share

surya

As Jallikattu protesters in Tamil Nadu are in no mood to stop the protests despite its state government’s ordinance to promulgate the bull taming sport and seeking lift of permanent ban on the sport, the situation is said to be out of control.

The peaceful protest is taking a violent route and several incidents of police vs protesters being reported, the producers of Suriya’s Singam 3 are in dilemma over releasing the film on Jan 26th as per the plan.

With people are in tumultuous mood, Suriya and producer Gnanavel Raja are toying with the idea of postponing the film. Already the film has been postponed twice. Initially it was supposed to hit the screens on Dec 16, but was shifted to Dec 23 in order to leave 2 weeks space for Ram Charan’s Dhruva (Dec 9) in Telugu.

Due to political turmoil following demise of its CM Jayalalithaa and cyclone Vardah and prevailing conditions in the state, S3 has been postponed to Jan 26th. But going by latest situation in Chennai, it’s unlikely that Suriya would go ahead with the release of his film.

If it happens, then the movie will also be postponed in Telugu. Already Venkatesh’s Guru which is supposed to hit theatres on Jan 25th is postponed to April. If S3 too is deferred, there would be no big releases this week. And this in turn may help ongoing festival releases Gautamiputra Satakarni, Khaidi No.150 & Satamanam Bhavati.

Let’s wait and see.

Top 5: GPSK Slips, Khaidi and Shatamanam Unstoppable

three

1) Khaidi No. 150: Megastar’s comeback film continued to dominate the box office after a record breaking first week.

The film’s weekend performance was so good that extra shows were added in many centers on Sunday. The film has now entered the 90 crore club and has become the only film after Baahubali to achieve this feat.

It should have steady run for another week as there was no alarming drop during the week days.

2) Shatamanam Bhavati: Dil Raju’s confidence in this family drama paid off big time as the film is getting superb shares across all centers.

Shatamanam Bhavati collections have been better than Gautamiputra Satakarni since the festive period is over. It has collected 20 crore share from worldwide box office and is likely to become the first 25 crore film for Sharwanand.

3) Gautamiputra Satakarni: Balakrishna’s historical magnum opus did well during Sankranthi week, but has lost fuel after that.

The film’s collections haven’t improved much over the weekend as it fell short of Shatamanam Bhavati weekend shares in all the major centers.

4) xXx: Return of Xander Cage: Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debut has been getting lukewarm response in Telugu states. The film is doing okay in Hyderabad multiplexes.

5) Dangal: Aamir Khan’s all time blockbuster Dangal is still drawing decent audience during the weekends.

The much delayed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Andhra Pradesh in order to offer gold ornaments to Lord Venkateswara Swamy and Goddess Kanaka Durga is at last finalized.

Highly placed sources revealed that KCR will visit Tirumala and Vijayawada on January 30.  During his one day visit, he will pay obeisance to both Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Kanaka Durga. As he is visiting Vijayawada, there are chances of his formal meeting with his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu.

It may be recalled that KCR had promised to offer gold jewellery to various gods if Telangana was achieved during the Telangana movement. After becoming CM, KCR approved Rs 5.59 crore from the Common Good Fund (CGF) of the endowments department to make gold ornaments for the gods. Rs 5 crore has been allotted for Lord Venkateswara and Rs 59 lakh for other deities.

The other promises he made were a golden crown to the presiding deity Bhadrakali Ammavaru at the historic Bhadrakali temple. Towards this promise, the Chief Minister has earmarked Rs 57 lakh for preparing a 2-kg Bangaru Kireetam (golden crown).

He also ordered 20-25 gram Bangaru Meesalu (golden moustache) for the Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy temple at Warangal which costs about Rs 30,000- 40,000, a Mukku Pudaka (golden nose ring) weighing 10-15 gram worth Rs 30,000-40,000 for Kanaka Durga Ammavaru of Vijayawada in AP and another golden nose ring weighing 10-15 gram, costing about Rs 30,000 to 45,000 for Padmavathi Ammavaru, Tiruchannuru, Tirupati.

Katamarayudu Steps Back!

Since the launch of Jana Sena, Power Star Pawan Kalyan has been sailing both filmy and political boats simultaneously and he always iterated that problems of people will be his highest priority than anything else. And he proves it again!

Following the massive social media rage after Jallikattu movement, Andhra Pradesh is getting ready for special status fight, which is strongly backed by Jana Sena chief. The actor turned politico has infact re-instated the movement through a series of tweets.

A silent protest by large group of youngsters and students of AP is being planned at RK beach in Vizag on 26th of January.

As the number of social media posts grew by leaps and bounds, a demand popped out that all films shut down their campaigns till AP achieves special status. And that’s where the movie unit of Katamarayudu decided not to bring out the teaser which was promised earlier.

The official page of Katamarayudu posted on Twitter, ‘#Katamarayudu teaser will not be released on 26th Jan.  Will announce the date soon. Stay subscribed and thanks for the support’.

KCR Writing Auto-Biography?

Share

kcr

If the reports from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi are to be believed, the autobiography of party president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is going to be out sometime later this year.

According to these reports, KCR is seriously involved in writing his autobiography and spending a lot of time during late hours in the nights every day.

The book, the title of which is yet to be finalised, is almost half-ready and it would take another five to six months to complete the same. After giving final touches to it, it could be released by October next, say sources.

And it would definitely be a matter of curiosity as to what KCR is going to write in his autobiography.

While he would definitely mention the days of separate Telangana movement between 2001 and 2014, it is believed that he would disclose a lot of developments that happened behind the screen during the agitation – the secret talks he had held with the Congress leaders at the Centre, what went wrong in the proposed merger of the TRS with the Congress and how the Telangana bill was passed.

He might also explain why he had to come out of the TDP and what prompted him to take up the Telangana movement. In any case, the TRS supremo would give some embarrassing moments to the Congress leaders through his book, say sources.

I First Turned Down 'Om Namo Venkatesaya'

Actor Sourabh Raaj Jain says if not for actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao, he wouldn’t have accepted the offer to play Lord Balaji in the Telugu devotional drama “Om Namo Venkatesaya”.

“Playing a mythological character was not new to me. I have played Krishna on Hindi television and I had decided to take a break from essaying such characters. So when the offer to play Lord Balaji came my way, I turned it down,” Sourabh told IANS.

However, director Rao and Nagarjuna insisted that he should be part of the project.

“When the offer came to me the second time, I learnt that Nagarjuna Sir is also part of the film. When I met them they helped me understand the story better and made me see my character in a different light,” he said.

On working with Nagarjuna, who was the prime reason for Sourabh to accept the project, he said: “No matter how much I say about him, it will still be less.

“He’s very humble, kind-hearted and he guided me right from the beginning. It was slightly intimidating to watch him perform but the compassion he has in his eyes for his character made me play my role with conviction.

“He also helped me with my lines and whenever I had difficulty understanding the language, he’d explain it in Hindi or English,” he said.

Talking about the experience of working with septuagenarian director Raghavendra Rao, Sourabh said his passion for cinema inspired him.

“The passion with which he makes films at his age is so inspiring. We had shot on mountains and it required a lot of physical activity. He didn’t have any problem climbing and walking long distances,” he said.

The film, which is slated for release in February, also stars Vimala Raman, Pragya Jaiswal and Jagapathi Babu.

Dangal Score: 376 Not Out

dangal

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s Dangal continues to wreak havoc at box office even in its fifth weekend. The sports biopic has now created history by surpassing the Rs 375 Cr mark and is racing ahead towards Rs 400 Cr club.

By the end of its 30th day of theatrical run, Dangal has collected a staggering Rs 376 nett. in India. The film is doing wonders in overseas as well, inching closer to Rs 200 Cr gross mark. Looking at the steady run, Rs 400 Cr net in India and Rs 800 Cr gross worldwide looks possible.

Interestingly, Aamir is the first actor to cross Rs 100 Cr (Ghajini), Rs 200 Cr (3 Idiots), Rs 300 Cr, Rs 350 Cr and Rs 375 Cr now. It has to be seen if the film can make it to Rs 400 Cr club or not.

On 25th January, 2 days from today, Shah Rukh Khan’s highly awaited ‘Raees’ and Hritihik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ are gearing up to hit screens. These two films will occupy major number of screens so it will no more be a cake walk for Dangal at ticket window.

As T-town’s love couple Samantha and Naga Chaitanya are going to get engaged to each other the next Sunday i.e Jan 29, preparations are going on at breakneck speed.

So after a week, Sam turns into the member of Akkineni family and it’s interesting how she calls her father-in-law-to be Nagarjuna whom she had professional relation so far as she also shared screen space with him in Manam.

Apparently, Sam is calling Nag as “Nag Sir” so far. But since she’s going to be part of the family, she is in dilemma on what to call him. Already, Nag said to have given instructions to Sam not to call him “Nag Sir” anymore.

Since Sam got used to calling Nag as Nag Sir, it may take sometime for her to come out of it and say ‘Nag Mama’. Meanwhile, Nag started teasing Sam asking what did she decide to call him and Sam is escaping by laughing off to Nag’s question.

Only 150 Members for Akhil’s Marriage!

Meanwhile, Nag has confirmed that Akhil’s destination wedding in Italy is going to be a private affair restricting it to only 150 members close to both the families. However, there would be a grand reception hosted to who’s who of film, political personalities in Hyderabad.

Unlike Sam, Nag doesn’t have a problem with the younger daughter-in-law to be Shriya Bhupal whom he know since her childhood.

“I know Shriya since her childhood. Since then, she used to call me Nag mama. And this indeed is turning to be true,” shared elated Nagarjuna.

Even as he crossed his 50s and marching towards 60, Nag is still looking young and one has to wait and see how his daughters-in-law would take care of him.
