Post-release promotions are as important as pre-release promotions of a film. Directors Ram Gopal Varma and Rajamouli have certainly mastered the art of marketing their films.

Now, taking a leaf out of them, director Krish is planning good post-release promotion of his latest offing Satakarni. As part of it, Baahubali team is going to promote Satakarni.

Bhallaladeva Rana Daggubati is going to interview Balakrishna about the movie and after that SS Rajamouli is going to interview Krish about the film. These two are expected to go viral.

It’s certainly a healthy trend for actors, directors to promote other films. This is usually followed in Bollywood very well. Now Rajamouli, Krish are bringing this to Tollywood.

After taking the biggest opening for any Telugu film, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi No.150’ continues to do well at box office. By the end of its first Sunday, 5 days of theatrical run, the film collected a share of around Rs 47 Cr in the Telugu states alone. This is already a Non-Baahubali record.

Khaidi No.150 has minted $2,077,900 in the US and it is well on its way to pocket a few more hundred dollars. The numbers from Karnataka are also reported to be impressive. On the whole, Khaidi No.150 has posted a worldwide distributor share of around Rs 62 Cr in its first weekend.

How the film sustains in the week days is crucial especially as it needs to recover at least Rs 90 Cr share to land all the distributors in safe zone.

Balakrishna Nandamuri’s landmark 100th film ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ has posted the career best numbers for the senior hero. Balayya’s regal screen presence and Krish’s able direction have made the film rake in very good amount in its first weekend.

In the first 4 days at the box office, GPSK has collected a share of Rs 25+ Cr in the two Telugu states.

In the US, the Balayya starrer performed far better and raked in $1,180,904 by the first Sunday. Worldwide theatrical share of GPSK is around Rs 35 Cr. As tax exemption is benefiting the film, it needs to collect around Rs 12 Cr more to be branded a safe project.

We have seen how much Ram Charan’s US visit to promote his latest film ‘Dhruva’ helped his film scale his personal best records. Now, Nandamuri Balakrishna is reportedly planning to embark on a similar US journey.

Balayya’s latest release, his 100th film, Gautamiputra Satakarni is raking record moolah in the actor’s career at box office, especially in the US. The historical film has already surpassed $1 million at US box office, registering the senior hero’s name in the million dollar club.

An overwhelmed Balayya, is reportedly panning to fly to the US this week to thank his fans. There is a huge Telugu community in the US and Balayya gets rousing welcome whenever he visits the nation for charity events, to raise funds etc. He commands a great fan following in North America and just one film was needed to convert it into box office numbers.

Balayya’s visit to thank fans will also work as post-release promotions and help the film register further revenue at ticket window. Going by the current trend, $1.5 million is the prediction but who knows, $2 million might also be a possibility after Balayya’s US tour.

Sharwanand and Dil Raju took a brave decision to pit their film Shatamanam Bhavathi against the two biggies, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna’s movies this Sankranthi.

However, their confidence paid off and Shatamanam Bhavathi is running well in all centres. In its first weekend, Shatamanam Bhavathi collected a share of 5.74 crores in Andhra, Ceded and Nizam areas.

After collecting 3.03 crores on its opening day in AP and Telangana, Shatamanam Bhavathi held its ground firm and collected 2.71 crores on Sunday, a decent show indeed. Meanwhile, the film has grossed $380,612 in overseas until Sunday.

With decent advance bookings this week, Shatamanam Bhavathi is surely heading to become Sharwa’s highest ever grossing movie.

Before the release of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s highly-anticipated 100th movie, Gautamiputra Satakarni, all eyes were on his nephew NTR. Fans were curious to see if NTR would talk about his Babai’s movie.

Much to the thrill of both the fans, NTR wished his Babai and his historic movie on the eve of its release. Since then, fans are excited once again to see NTR’s reaction on the movie.

Beautiful Tamil actress Trisha Krishnan was forced by her own people to temporarily deactivate her twitter account on Sunday. She had a massive 3.2 million followers.

Trisha on Saturday was mobbed by angry protesters at the shooting location of her film after her statement against ‘Jallikattu’, the traditional bull taming sport conducted by Tamil people during the Pongal festival.

On Saturday, there was a tweet from Trisha’s official account, “I’m a Tamilian and I support @peta @petaindia cruelty to animals no matter how old the traditions are is no justification. #BanJallikattu.”

“Disrespecting a woman and her family is Tamil culture? You should be ashamed to call yourself a Tamilian or even speak about Tamil culture,” Trisha posted after she was flooded with hate messages and trolls on social media.

She claimed that her account was hacked and lodged a police complaint too. Even after the Kollywood fraternity including Kamal Haasan came to her support saying she expressed her opinion and that she shouldn’t be targeted, the abuse on social media didn’t cease. Finally, Trisha had to deactivate her twitter account.

It may be noted that PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) had obtained a Supreme Court order against conducting Jallikattu and ever since the organization became an enemy of sorts for Tamil people.

Kangana Ranaut is known for her film projects as well as her fashion sense. The actress says it was not a “conscious leap” to come forward as a style icon. The actress also said she has been experimental with her looks since her growing up days.”I started as a small town girl and it was not a conscious leap where I decided that ‘Okay fine, I have to emerge as this style icon’. While growing up, I was quite experimental with my looks. It was not like that I didn’t stand out back home in my little village where I grew up,” Kangana told IANS.

Aamir Khan’s Dangal which released on December 23rd is still doing well at the box office even after the end of its 3 weeks run. The movie now entered 700 crores gross club worldwide within 23 days.

The movie collected Rs 365.87 crores nett at the Indian box office and the gross amount is Rs 512.21 crores.

On the other hand, the film minted Rs 190.94 crores from the overseas box office. The total 23 days worldwide collections of Dangal is Rs 703.15 crores gross. This is the second movie to enter 700 crore club after “PK” movie.

However, Aamir Khan is the only actor in the India who has films in his account which entered Rs 700 crore club. Going by the trend, the Trade experts predict that Dangal can enter Rs 800 crores club in its final run and it needs to collect Rs 37 crores to cross “PK” movie collections of Rs 740 crores gross. So let’s wait and see how much the movie collects in its further run at the box office.

Khaidi No.150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni are phenomenally doing well at the Box Office. With both the biggies Chiru & Balayya, easily these two films have become talking point in industry circles.

While almost all the stars in the industry have managed to watch both these films and expressed their experience, only missing are Pawan Kalyan, Jr NTR.

Even Mahesh Babu has stated that he watched both the film and heaped praises on both Balayya, Chiranjeevi.

Apparently, Pawan had watched Khaidi but he neither tweeted nor commented about the film.

On other hand, Jr NTR’s silence indicate that he hasn’t watched Gautamiputra Satakarni yet.

Mega fans, who are already unhappy with Pawan’s absence to Khaidi pre-release event, are now fuming on the actor for his no response.

Dil Raju is a true Box Office magician with magical wand in his theater chain. True that Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna are huge stars than Sharwanand and ‘Khaidi No 150, Gauthami Puthra Satakarni’ opened to more positivity than ‘Shatamanam Bhavati’ but that’s not going to be an end for Dil Raju’s film.

Yes, ‘Shatamanam Bhavati’ is edging on the healthy tag of emotional and wholesome family entertainer which has been Dil Raju’s forte from long. More than this, our mighty producer and genius distributor blocked all those high capacity, well equipped theaters in his network only for ‘Shatamanam Bhavati.’

Family audiences prefer to watch films in their nearby locality and in a neatly furnished theater. As such Dil Raju in prior made sure that his film occupies best of the theaters in cities and towns. For example, three to four of the high volume single screens in Punjagutta to Kukatpally belt like Gokul, Sree Ramulu, Vishwanath and Cinepolis are reserved for ‘Shatamanam.’ Revenues from these single screen theaters are more than enough to make the most of Hyderabad collections.

A lot has been said about Megastar Chiranjeevi and his brother Pawan Kalyan before and after the release of Chiru’s Khaidi No.150. The old feud between the Mega brothers came to front when Pawan chose not to attend Khaidi No.150’s pre-release event.

Meanwhile, Khaidi No.150 released a couple of days ago and is zooming past at the box-offices in the two Telugu states and in overseas. In overseas, the movie collected close to $1.82 million and running until today.

This means that Khaidi No.150 has set his eyes on Pawan Kalyan’s Atharintiki Dharedi lifetime gross of $1.87 million. Well, a sweet revenge by Chiru on his brother.

On the other hand, Khaidi No.150 will also surpass NTR’s Janatha Garage’s lifetime overseas gross of $2.03 million without a sweat. With the Chiru storm still going strong, Trivikram’s A..Aa ($2.45 million) is under threat.

While crossing Srimanthudu’s $2.89 million seems to be a possibility, Khaidi No.150 may end up as Tollywood’s second highest grossing movie as overtaking Baahubali ($6.99 million) is a distant dream. Indeed Boss Is Back with a resounding bang.
