Archana aka Veda is one unlucky actress who couldn’t make it big despite having the acting abilities and oomph factor. The actress in her latest interview has expressed her angst for rejecting an offer made by top director Rajamouli SS.

Archana revealed that she had rejected a role in ‘Magadheera’ and it fell in the lap of Saloni. Explaining the circumstances under which she had to lose such a golden chance, she added, ‘after making my debut as lead heroine with Naresh’s ‘Nenu’, I made the biggest mistake of my career by playing a supporting role in ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana. I feel that mistake killed my heroine chances in tollywood. I used to cry everyday on that film’s sets’.

‘After that film, Rajamouli sir approached with the offer of ‘Magadheera’. Fearing it was another supporting role, I rejected it and that was the second biggest mistake of my life. Had I done that film, I might have played the lead role in his ‘Maryada Ramanna’ as well. I wanted to ask apology to Rajamouli,’ she said.

Poor Archana confessed that because of those mistakes, her career never took off in tollywood.

As Telugu film lovers are just days shy of watching the films of two of the top most senior heroes of Tollywood, here is a comprehensive analysis on how much megastar’s Khaidi No.150 and Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni need to collect at box office to be called hits.

GPS has done the career best pre-release business for Balayya. As the craze for the film is at peaks, the distribution rights of AP especially were bought for huge prices. With Rs 11 Cr from Nizam and Rs 28+ Cr from AP, GPS has done Rs 39+ Cr business in the Telugu states. Adding the close to Rs 10 Cr theatrical business from Karnataka, Rest of India and Overseas, GPS has done a total business of Rs 49+ Cr.

So, the film needs to collect around Rs 50 Cr share from its theatrical run. Given the Sankranthi season advantage and tax exemption in the Telugu states, recovering this amount doesn’t look tough for the Balayya starrer provided it offers decent content.

On the other hand, the rights of Khaidi No.150 have been sold for a total of close to Rs 84 Cr (Nizam – 21, Andhra – 43, Overseas – 10, Rest of India & Karnataka – 10). So, Khaidi needs to amass over Rs 84 Cr share from theatrical run to land its distributors in safe zone. The number looks huge and so does the craze surrounding this project.With good content offered, Sankranthi season has the potential to make both these films score hits. Tollywood’s much-awaited project Baahubali has completed the pumpkin ceremony successfully. The film unit worked hard and successfully ended the shoot. Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Khaidi Number 150’s pre release event was held at Haailand at Guntur-Vijayawada highway on the evening of Saturday, 7th of January. The organizers named it as ‘Boss Is Back’ event. Following are the highlights of the event.

HIGHLIGHTS:

* Darshakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao attended the event as a chief guest. All the film’s cast and crew graced the occasion.

He cheered fans uttering a few dialogues of ‘Khaidi Number 150’ and ‘Indra’.He showered praises on every actor and technician of the film. He particularly praised VV Vinayak to the core. Following the success of Raju Gari Gadhi, anchor-turned filmmaker Omkar is now helming a sequel to the movie with Nagarjuna playing the lead role. This is the first time that Nagarjuna would be acting in a horror genre movie in his career.

Industry sources say that Trisha is being considered for the role of heroine opposite Nagarjuna.She has earlier worked with Nagarjuna in King which turned out to be a dud at the box-office. SS Taman has been roped in as the music director for the sequel and PVP is the producer for the movie.

Nagarjuna and Omkar had actually planned to collaborate for a game show in the past when the latter was having immense success on television. The collaboration has now materialized albeit on the big screen.

There really seems to be a major reason why Pawan Kalyan is saying aloof from the mega family. And the root of the problem can probably be traced to the Praja Rajyam days when apparently Pawan Kalyan recommended candidates were not given tickets by Chiranjeevi at the behest of Allu Aravind.

Anyway, coming to the matter, despite repeated entreaties, Pawan Kalyan did not turn up for the pre-release function of Khaidi No 150.Apparently, Pawan today said that he would be unable to attend because he was suffering from fever. But he participated in the shooting of Katamrayudu at Golconda till 2 pm and citing fever, skipped the pr-release event.

What is it between the brothers that has really pissed the younger one off so badly?

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor who is looking forward to her upcoming release “Ok Jaanu” opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor says that the recognition of an actor is not totally dependent on the film’s box office fate but their performance.”You will be remembered for your performance as an actor in people’s mind. Many times, the film does not do well at the box office… that is the fate of the film, and we cannot control that, but good work will be appreciated by our audience,” Shraddha told the media here alongside her co-actor to a query about the failure of their last release.

Seconding her opinion, Aditya said: “I think our fate changes in every Friday. I have seen both the side of it. In the beginning of my career, three of my films did not do well; then two films (“Aashiqui 2”, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”) released in the same year and both worked well. So as an actor we have to hang on, believe in ourselves and keep working with the best of our ability.”Shraddha and Aditya are going through the same phase that happened back in 2013 before the release of their super hit film “Aashiqui 2” with their last releases – “Luv Ka The End” and “Guzaarish” respectively – being flops.

So, will “Ok Jaanu” be the comeback with a success for the on-screen couple?”Well I think while casting us our director Shaad Ali must have seen something in us that fit us into the role, and it is an advantage that as on screen pair, audience loved us, so that can work in our favour,” said Aditya.”As our on screen pairing was a hit, we got lot of offers after ‘Aashiqui 2’, but those were not the right film for us, but we loved the script of ‘Ok Jaanu’. So we said yes to the film,” added Shraddha.

Directed by Shaad Ali, “Ok Jaanu” will be releasing on January 13.

Popular novelist, writer and personality development writer Yandamoori Veerendranadh made some bad comments against Ram Charan’s appearance and acting talent at one of his personality development classes. That video leaked on to the internet and went viral. Nagababu was offended by it and chose the Khaidi No. 150 event to hit back at Yandamoori.

Nagababu crossed the limits and made some nasty comments against the popular writer. Yandamoori who saw Nagababu’s video on the internet was shocked by his comments.“I don’t have a clue about why he blasted at me. Yes, I made some comments against Chiru and Charan in the past, but Nagababu was very friendly when we recently met at a private function,” he said.

“Nagababu may regret his comments later and we both may work together again. Recently when we met, he asked if I have any new stories. Who knows, we might be doing a movie soon,” Yandamoori responded in a polite and dignified manner.Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma, who was also targeted by Nagababu, has posted a series of posts against the latter. His Tweet marathon continued for hours before he put an end to it with a ‘Good Night’ message to Chiranjeevi.

In what can be an embarrassing moment for Chiranjeevi at Khaidi pre-release event in Guntur, a fan displayed the flag of Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena while Chiru is speaking on dais.

Chiru was at the middle of his speech and he is seriously engrossed into the speech. But then a fan is spotted showing Jana Sena flag. Disturbed and distracted by it, Chiru has ordered the fan twice to down the flag.

Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan might share good bond personally. But politically, they have differences and this was openly admitted by both the brothers.

In fact, Pawan’s absence to the event also seems to have not gone down well with Chiru. Considering all these, Chiru is visibly upset when fan tried to divert the attention.

Although Naga Babu’s speech hinted that the event could be a platform to take on rivals, it was Mega Star Chirnajeevi who turned the whole event as he infused a lot of positivity. Even many had expected Dasari to blast, but it didn’t happen. Thanks to Chiru and Charan who ensured that event won’t rake up any unnecessary controversies.

Chiru Calls Balayya as Brother

Describing Balayya as his Sodarudu (brother), Chiru wished all the best to Balayya for his 100th film Gautamiputra Satakarni. He also went onto wish small films like Sharwanand’s Shatamanam Bhavati and R Narayana Murthy’s Head Constable Venkatramaiah. Chiru hoped that all the films that releasing for Sankranthi should do well.

Country’s Most Awaited film of the year, Baahubali — The Conclusion has completed its shooting part today. Both the parts of the film were shot for 613 days and Prabhas alone had dedicated 3.5 years of his career for the movie. The entire shoot got completed the other day and the traditional Pumpin Breaking Ceremony which marks the end of a film was performed.

Now the movie will enter into extensive post-production phase. Now the onus is on SS Rajamouli. It has to be seen if Rajamouli will finish the work on time for April 28th 2017 release. And on the other side, Prabhas will now begin his next with Run Raja Run fame Sujeeth Sign.

Prabhas will go for a small break and the movie will begin shoot in March and again there will be a long gap in April for Baahubali – The Conclusion promotions and for the movie dubbing. Baahubali — The Conclusion will see the light on April 28th, 2017 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.

We are less than a week away from ‘Khaidi No 150’ release and all eyes are on that project as it marks the comeback of ‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi after a long hiatus. Advance Bookings are likely to get opened from this Friday.

Now, the movie is making few records even before the release. Recently the movie has achieved a rare feat for any Telugu Film. For the first ever time in Telugu Film History, a direct Telugu movie gets released in Mumbai Maratha Mandir. Earlier Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ got released in the same theater.

But it was dubbed into the Hindi language that time. Chiranjeevi enjoys a huge fan base across the boundaries and makers ensure the movie gets a record opening in a huge number of screens. Kajal Aggarwal does the female lead role.

The technical team features Devi Sri Prasad for Music and Rathnavelu for cinematography. Ram Charan funds the project and V.V.Vinayak has shaped the venture. The movie is all set for a grand release on January 11, 2017. Premiere shows will happen on January 10th.
