Selection of Keerthy Suresh for one of the prestigious biopic on Savithri under the title of ‘Mahanati’ raised many eyebrows in T-town. After gaming with the names of Nithya Menon, Vidya Balan and Samanta, the reason behind director Nag Ashwin or producer Aswini Dutt and his daughters opting for Keerthy Suresh is still unknown.

Except ‘Nenu Shailaja,’ none of the films from Keerthy worked well in Telugu states. On a frank note, she isn’t a familiar name and face in lower order Telugu centers although signed couple of big movies besides star heroes. Taking up Savithri character won’t be easy for Keerthy who hasn’t proved anything extra ordinary till date in Tollywood.

It is a known news that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi Number 150’ has done a record pre release business in many areas. Update is that the film was sold out to Rs.5.60 crores to Anusri Films of East Godavari. Shanmukhi Films bagged the film’s rights for Rs.4.75 crores for West Godavari. On the other hand, S2 Cinemas acquired the movie’s rights for an astronomical price of Rs.3.25 crores for Nellore area. All these are said to be all time records in respective areas.

Meanwhile, ‘Khaidi Number 150’ is hitting screens on January 11 in record number of screens across the globe while a grand pre release event was planned on January 7 at Haailand near Guntur. As we know, the movie got its censor formalities done recently. Currently, theaters are being booked for the film’s premieres which are expected to be planned on the midnight of 10th of January.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, known for his brazen humour, has lashed out at the recently released poster of Chiranjeevi’s Telugu actioner “Khaidi No 150”, calling it “height of narcissism”.
