In a convention that was held at the Janeshwar Misra Park with the support of more than 200 of the party’s 229 MLAs and 30 MLCs and more than 5,000 cadres on the New Year day, Akhilesh’s close confidant and Samajwadi Party’s senior leader Ram Gopal Yadav also ousted Akhilesh’s uncle turned foe Shivpal Yadav as state party chief, and showed the door to “outsider” Amar Singh, the alleged mastermind for the family feud in the Yadav clan.

The convention also moved a resolution to honour Mulayam with the party patron’s post. Further, the convention also authorised Akhilesh to constitute the party’s national executive, parliamentary board and various state units.

However, the party’s grand old man Mulayam wrote a scathing letter in which he alleged that the convention had been called without his permission and so all the resolutions made stand invalid. Even Mulayam had called for a counter national convention on January 5 at the same venue.

While all the party’s leaders who graced Akhilesh’s convention gave a deaf ear to Mulayam’s warning of disciplinary action, the UP CM on the other hand has warned that he will counter the conspirators who have been trying to sabotage the party’s chances in the upcoming assembly elections by giving tickets to undeserving candidates. Akhilesh also stated that he has respected his father more than anyone ever.

Likewise, Balayya’s 100th and Chiranjeevi’s 150th hitting screens in a day gap is the actual challenge for respective producers and directors.

Till date, GPSK pulled all attention from media and cinema lovers for its extensive promotional campaigns. They did not miss any opportunity in hitting the headlines. Having minted $1.430M so far, Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s ‘Dhruva’ is on the verge of earning profits in the US. Until yesterday, the movie would  run around 20 locations across the US. In a shocking update, the US distributors have decided to add 25 additional screens in its 5th weekend’s run. This decision will surely add up a couple more bucks to the film’s total revenues. It is also learnt that the movie is being repeatedly watched by the audience which prompted the US distributors to add more screens in 5th weekend’s run of the film.

‘Dhruva’ has gorgeous beauty Rakul Preet Singh in female lead role. Arvind Swamy played an antagonist while Hiphop Tamizha has composed the music of the film. Surender Reddy has directed the film on Geetha Arts.

“I lost Rs.25 crores with a film titled ‘Shakthi’ in  2011. I was immensely disappointed with the result,” said the producer. True to the producer’s words ‘Shakthi’ was declared as the industry biggest disaster those days. “Long back when I distributed Sr NTR’s ‘Brahmarshi Viswamithra’ I couldn’t even get prints cost,” the producer broke out. However the producer magnanimously admitted that his financial status and stature were improved for producing Chiranjeevi’s films.

Megastar Chiranjeevi led PRP might have been a failure in 2009’s general elections. But then, the party had been a success in shattering the hopes of TDP winning the election battle in the year. In the meanwhile, the CM and TDP’s head Chandrababu Naidu, is buzzed to have been scared of Chiranjeevi’s comeback film. CBN is reportedly thinking about Chiranjeevi would get his form back and would turn as a nightmare for the party in future. As a result, he reportedly denied permission for the pre release event in Vijayawada citing the reasons of a court order rejecting movie and related events and traffic issues.

However, mega fans have reportedly rubbished these reasons cited by TDP’s sources. They revealed that Chiranjeevi’s ‘Indra’ function and ‘Hudhud donations entertainment event’ were held in the same ground irrespective of traffic and court order issues. Moreover, they disclosed that Balakrishna’s ‘GPSK’ audio was launched in the heart of Tirupati where heavy traffic disturb the people everyday.

“One cannot be royal doing such cowardice acts. Royalty lies only by facing challenges. TDP must be ready to face the consequences in elections with its monopolistic decisions, arrogance and encouraging caste factors,” warned some protesters.

Director Boyapati Srinu’s recently launched new movie with Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas is proving to be one more lavish project.

Generally, Sai ropes in star directors, top heroines and huge budgets for his films, all the way from debut Alludu Seenu. He is repeating the same in company of Boyapati, who also encourages grandeur.

If reports from film circles are to go by, a monumental setting worth 2.5 Crores is erected in Annapurna Studios for shooting the film’s first song.

Bellamkonda Sai and Rakul Preet Singh will dance to a mass and energetic song composed by Devi Sri Prasad while Prem Rakshit is the choreographer. Nearly 250 dancers from Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai are taking part in this song.

If producer Miriyala Ravinder Reddy is rolling such mammoth amounts for a single song, one can estimate the overall budget and glory in the final output. Nevertheless, Boyapati also roped Tamil star Sarath Kumar and Jagapathi Babu in important characters.

When someone said Satakarni’s success is the responsibility of TDP cadre, we didn’t realize that it includes stopping of Khaidi No 150 pre-release function at Vijayawada.

Highly placed sources say that some TDP leaders are working overtime to file cases and raise objections to Khaidi’s pre-release function at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada, which is slated for January 4.

They want to ensure that the function is postponed if not completely stalled. So, Chiru’s Man Friday Ganta Srinivasa Rao swung into action and is talking to TDP leaders who are trying to get Khaidi show postponed. He is trying to convince them not to obstruct Chiru’s show. But, Balayya fans seem determined.

If they do not agree, mega camp is reportedly thinking of shifting the programme from Vijayawada to Guntur. But then, will all this not lead to a major caste war in AP’s real political capital Vijayawada and will it not have a ripple effect on caste tension-ridden Andhra Pradesh? Vangaveeti has already left one cast group quite sullen.

Will Satakarni add fuel to the fire?

Superstar Mahesh Babu, who is currently busy working on A.R. Murugadoss’s yet-untitled Telugu-Tamil bilingual, on the occasion of New Year’s Day announced his line-up of films for the calendar year.

Calling it the most exciting phase of his career, Mahesh wrote on his Twitter page: “Working with director Siva Koratala for Mahesh 24, with Vamshi Paidipally for Mahesh 25 and Mahesh 26 with Trivikram.”

With Koratala Siva, it will be Mahesh’s second film after the blockbuster “Srimanthudu”, and it will be his third film with Trivikram after “Athadu” and “Khaleja”.

Mahesh and Vamshi will be teaming up for the first time.

He wrote that he is really looking forward to the release of his film with Murugadoss.

“My dream of working with super cool director Murugadoss has finally come true,” he added.

Currently on a holiday with his family in Europe, Mahesh will join the sets of his ongoing project from January 7.
