Nayantara Cares A Damn Even For Big Heroes!
Glamorous south actress Nayanatara has done several hit films in Telugu in the past and the Telugu audiences treated her with a lot of affection and respect.Yet, she has been displaying utter contempt for Telugu film industry these days. Though top producers of Tollywood are after her to do their films starring top heroes like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, she is bluntly refusing, though many other heroines are eagerly waiting to grab the chances.
The other day, director Krish is learnt to have approached Nayanatara to act beside Balakrishna in his 100th film Gautamiputra Satakarni, as he thought she would perfectly suit the role. But, she simply rejected the offer; and Krish had to put up with Shriya.Similarly, top director V V Vinayak also thought Nayanatara would be the right choice to pair with Chiranjeevi in his 150th film. Taking advantage of his acquaintance with her, Vinayak approached Nayanatara, but she rejected this film too.
Why is Nayanatara so repulsive about Telugu films? The answer is that she is giving top preference to Tamil films, where she is getting a lot of importance.She doesn’t mind acting even with budding heroes in Tamil, as she is being paid hefty remuneration of Rs 3 crore. Moreover, she is also doing solo films in which she plays lead roles. That is precisely why she is not interested in doing Telugu films.
With Loads Of Gold, Tirupati Looks For Banks With High Rates
The management of Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh has said it will look for banks that offer highest interest rates for its gold available for investment.The investment committee chaired by Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao on Wednesday reviewed the investments made in banks, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said in a statement.Expressing satisfaction at the interest rate at which the temple made its investments in banks, the committee called for exploring investments for a period of one year or three years with banks that quote the highest rate of interest for the gold which is readily available for investment.
The committee also discussed as to how companies can participate in various services of the TTD under corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, the statement said.The TTD said in April that it deposited 1,311 kg of gold with Punjab National Bank (PNB) under the Gold Monetisation Scheme and is negotiating for better terms for making more such bank deposits.The TTD manages the Balaji or Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. It is believed to be the richest temple in the world, with annual offerings from devotees worth hundreds of crores of rupees.
The deposit with the PNB was made under the three-year short-term Gold Monetisation Scheme. PNB was chosen because it quoted the higest interest rate at 1.75 percent per annum.The short-term scheme has the advantage that the deposit can be redeemed in gold which temples like Tirupati favour.The TTD has requested the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the central government that deposits under medium- and long-term schemes of the Gold Monetisation Scheme should also be redeemable in gold so that depositor-temples get more attractive returns.
The temple receives offerings from devotees in cash, jewellery, gold, silver, other precious metals, gems, property deeds and demat share transfers.”Gold offering will be around one tonne per year. In the case of property deeds, due procedure is followed by the concerned department to transfer the title. The temple also gets silver, diamond and other items,” a TTD official told IANS earlier.According to the TTD official, the revenue this year is likely to be about Rs 2,600 crore, of which the devotees’ offerings in hundi is estimated at around Rs 1,000 crore.
The interest receipts are likely to be around Rs 800 crore and the revenue from sales of tickets, prasadam and others is estimated to be around Rs 600 crore.The proceeds from auctioning of human hair offered by devotees to Lord Venkateswara were expected to be about Rs 140 crore, the official said.The major outgo will be towards wages and salaries, estimated at around Rs 500 crore this year.

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been maintaining a lot of restraint despite provocative statements from leaders of his party’s ally Bharatiya Janata Party.He is adopting a soft approach towards the BJP and is even pulling up his own party leaders who get into confrontation with the BJP leaders in their respective constituencies.
Reason: Naidu is apprehensive that the BJP leaders might rake up the cash-for-note case at the national level and damage his reputation. That is why, he has been trying to be goody-goody with the BJP leaders.The other day, there was a confrontation between Endowments Minister Manikyal Rao, who happens to be from the BJP and West Godavari Zilla Parishad chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju, who is from the TDP, over a protocol issue at Tadepalligudem.Apparently, Manikyal Rao expressed resentment over the local TDP leaders taking up various developmental works without inviting him though he is a minister and local MLA. Peeved at being ignored, Manikyal Rao threatened to resign from the cabinet.
However, Naidu pacified him and prevented him from taking the extreme step. He called Bapiraju and pulled him for ignoring the minister.When Bapiraju tried to lodge a complaint against Manikyal Rao stating that the latter was making provocative statements against Naidu by raising cash-for-vote case, the Chief Minister asked the TDP leaders to keep quiet and not to bring such complaints before him.

The management of Mahindra has spent bomb to sign contract with Prabhas and to shoot an adventurous commercial ad featuring the actor. However, the ads are seen no where in the TVs in the recent times. Apparently, they would endorse the brand once again before and after the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion which is set to release on April 14th, 2017.
Baahubali 2 is expected to be much bigger in all the aspects than the first part. So, Prabhas fame will be multiplied after release of the movie. Buzz will be high on any star-studded film, few days before and after their release. And for masterpieces like Baahubali franchisees, the buzz will be sky-scraping, few days prior to its release.Entire national media will obviously talk mostly about this flick, during its release. So, it will be better promoting Mahindra SUV brand during the time.
Pawan Kalyan turns Kadapa King
Powerstar Pawan Kalyan had delivered a big disaster with his last film, Sardaar Gabbar Singh. The next project of the actor under the direction of SJ Suryah will now begin next month in Pollachi. The makers are planning to shoot non-stop for the film and line it up for Sankranthi release. Pawan Kalyan film is arriving for Sankranthi after several years.
Until now we have heard that Husharu and Senapathi are being considered as the film titles. But new rumours suggest that they are considering ‘Kadapa King’ as the title. Producer Sharath Marar’s North Star Entertainments registered the title in film chamber aiding the rumours. S.J Suryah along with writer Akula Siva have been working on the story since the last 5 months.
Earlier the makers have informed that Shruti Haasan is confirmed as the female lead in the film. But now sources say she is not confirmed and the makers are in hunt for the heroine. They say they are in talks with Nenu Shailaja fame Keerthy Suresh to romance the actor. Anoop Rubens is the music composer.
Chiranjeevi in Research Mode
Reports are emerging that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Prestigious 150th film will begin its regular shoot from June 21st. Chiranjeevi will participate in the first schedule where in a fight will be shot in the supervision of Ram – Lakshman Masters. The movie shooting will go non-stop till completion.
The makers are planning to release the film for Sankranthi 2017. The film is the official remake of Tamil blockbuster Kaththi which focuses on the plight of farmers. The team is currently in research mode to get figures and statistics related to agriculture from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Reports are emerging that Chiranjeevi will render lengthy dialogues of the actual figures about budgets allocated to farmers, suicides, loan waivers and other such important details. Ram Charan and his mother Surekha will be producing the film under their new banner, Konidela Production Company. VV Vinayak is wielding megaphone for this project
Gentleman Movie Review – 3/5
Story:
Gentleman is the story about how Gautam/Jay (Nani) who finds himself in a very tricky situation between two ladies Catherine (Niveda Thomas) and Aishwarya (Surabhi). And now our hero needs to find a way out in such a situation to prove himself a Gentleman. What is that near to impossible situation? How Gautam/Jay manages to confront and comes out as a Gentleman forms the crux of the story.
Performances:
Before we talk of Nani, he should be appreciated for trying out different scripts. He walked through two slightly different character with tremendous ease. He definitely goes one step ahead with his performance in the emotional block.Surabhi and Niveda Thomas are natural choices for their roles. Niveda Thomas has good features and fits in the bill perfectly as Cathy. Surabhi looks appropriate fit as well. However they do not have much scope to exhibit their talents much. Usually we see Avasarala Srinivas in comedy roles, for the first time, he is seen in a serious role and is good. Vennela Kishore works as a manager in Jai’s company and he brought in some good laughs in the second half. Tanikella Bharani, Rohini and Satyam Rajesh are okay in limited roles.
Technical Performances:
Gentleman is essentially a thriller and have little scope for the usual commercial elements. So the director Indraganti Mohan Krishna infused all of them in the first half during the two love tracks. The first half however looks not much exciting due to that, but the director turned the tables with back to back twists towards the interval. The second half becomes slightly slow with the murder investigation and no scope for entertainment. And then the twist towards the end appears illogical.
Senior Music director Mani Sharma came up with an okay album. The songs are well picturized too but the problem is that, they come in the way of the thriller as speed breakers. PG Vinda despite having budget constraints, managed to enhance the film level with his lens. Editing is neat while the dialogues are fine. Production Values are okay.

Final Say:
Finally Gentleman is a decent product. The movie is slow at times and is devoid of usual commercial elements, but that is mostly due to the nature of the story. Once you complete watching the film, you get an ‘average’ feel. But easily a one time watch!
After Mega Heroes, Mega Princess Wants Chiru
After 8 long years, Megastar Chiranjeevi is all set to enthrall millions of his fans with his most highly anticipated 150th film Kathilantodu. The hype and excitement surrounding this film are humongous among not just Mega fans but also the Mega family heroes.
Already, Mega heroes like Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Sai Dharam Tej expressed their wish to be part of Chiru’s 150th film even if they get to share only a few seconds of screen space with Megastar.Now, Chiru’s doting niece and upcoming actress Niharika too wants those few seconds of fame as she said in a promotional interview Oka Manasu that she wishes to act in Kathilantodu even if it’s a small and insignificant role.
Niharika is now being addressed with the title ‘Mega Princess’ even before her debut film hit the screens. Let’s wait and see if Chiru will fulfill Niharika’s wish along with the wishes of other Mega heroes. Meanwhile, Kathilantodu is is expected to go on floors very soon.
FBI counters Trump on Muslims
Muslim-Americans have repeatedly informed authorities of fellow Muslims they fear might be turning to extremism, law enforcement officials say, contrary to a claim by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump this week.“They don’t report them,” Mr. Trump said in a CNN interview on Monday, in the wake of the mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub by an American Muslim who claimed allegiance to the Islamic State. “For some reason, the Muslim community does not report people like this.”
But FBI director James Comey said: “They do not want people committing violence, either in their community or in the name of their faith, and so some of our most productive relationships are with people who see things and tell us things who happen to be Muslim. It’s at the heart of the FBI’s effectiveness to have good relationships with these folks.”
Robust relationship
Andrew Ames, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington field office, told Reuters on Wednesday that the agency has a “robust” relationship with the local Muslim community. FBI agents operating in the area have received reports about suspicious activity and other issues from community members.Michael Downing, deputy chief of the Los Angeles Police Department and head of its Counterterrorism and Special Operations Bureau, said the city’s Muslim community has been cooperative in reporting “red flags”.
“I personally have been called by community members about several things, very significant things,” Mr. Downing said. “What we say to communities is that we don’t want you to profile humans, we want you to profile behaviour.” Charles Kurzman, a professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, who has conducted several studies on Muslim-Americans and terrorism, disputed Mr. Trump’s criticism. “To claim there is no cooperation is false and defamatory to the Muslim-American community.”
Establishing trust
Mr. Kurzman said a January 2016 study by himself and colleagues at Duke University’s Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security found that many law enforcement agencies had made progress in establishing trust with local Muslim-American communities.
But the study also found some tensions. In one focus group described in the study, Muslim-American participants debated when to report activity when they were unsure how to detect imminent violence. “The group participants expressed concern that police would be more likely to encourage a plot in order to make an arrest,” the authors wrote, “rather than to divert people onto a non-violent path that community members and family members would prefer”.
One imam interviewed for the project told researchers he felt that his “trust is not being reciprocated” by U.S. officials. The imam told the researchers that after he attended a meeting with federal officials, he went to the local airport, was held for hours at security and missed his flight, the study said.A Reuters review of court records also produced examples of many Muslim-Americans informing law enforcement of possible radicalisation within their families.
