Director Teja who once delivered blockbuster hits like Nuvvu Nenu, Chitram and Jayam, lost his form for several years and churned flops once after the other. He last directed a film titled Hora Hori which was a big disaster.

But some how, Teja reportedly managed to convince Daggubati Rana for his next project. The film will have Kajal Aggarwal romancing Rana. Padala Satyanarayana will be producing thr film under Vyshnavi Entertainments Banner.

Earlier Teja was to direct Victory Venkatesh in a film titled Savitri but for some reason, the project did not go on floors. Now he gets a chance to direct Venky’s nephew. Rana will very soon join the shooting of his Baahubali – The Conclusion.

He almost completed the shooting of his bilingual project, Ghazi. The project will kick-start in couple of months. On the other side, besides this project with Rana, Teja also have a project with Senior Actor Rajasekhar.

Young Tiger NTR’s Janatha Garage shooting is going on at brisk pace. The team is currently canning the interval sequence of the film at the outskirts of Hyderabad. NTR the other day, appreciated the team’s dedication for shooting in such harsh conditions. The shooting there will go on for some more days.

Non-stop schedules are planned for the film so that the entire shooting will be completed by mid July. The makers are considering Janatha Garage (with a tagline – Ikkada Anni Repairlu Cheyyabadunu) as the title of the film even though they did not announce it officially.

They are planning to release the movie on August 12th, 2016. The release date works in the movie’s favour as there is a long weekend holiday due to Independence day holiday on Monday. Mytri Film Makers who turned producers with Srimanthudu will be producing this film as well.

Yerineni Naveen, Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar (Thammudu) and CVM (Mohan) are the producers. Music Devil, Devi Sri Prasad will be composing music as Koratala’s previous films – Mirchi and Srimanthudu.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh’s disastrous run in overseas and Telugu states has left the buyers with nearly 40% losses. The after shocks of Sardaar’s result have now hit Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu hard.

The local overseas buyers from many areas are now wary of subletting the upcoming Sarrainodu and Brahmotsavam at insane amounts, which has surely affected the business of both these films to a large extent.

The situation is no different in both the Telugu states as buyers who have bought Sarrainodu and Brahmotsavam are anxiously awaiting a super hit result. Sarrainodu’s release is just a week away, while Brahmotsavam will release in early May.

Looks like, Nandamuri Balakrishna is only one-step away from making his Bollywood debut. If reports are anything to go by, Balayya would be making his Hindi debut with his most-anticipated 100th film Gautamiputra Satakarni.

Unlike Baahubali which had fictional story, Gautamiputra Satakarni is the true story of Telugu warrior king Satakarni whose popularity spread all over India. Satakarni had ruled AP & Telangana with capitals in Amaravati (presently in Guntur) and Koti Lingalu (currently in Karimnagar). He even ruled several parts of India with capitals in Maharashtra, Gujarat. So, director Krish is of the opinion that the story has pan-India connection.

Even casting-wise, Krish is wanting to make a difference so that the film would attract audiences across India. Yesteryear actress ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini is being approached for ‘Rajamatha Gautami’ role. If this is not enough, a well-known face in Hindi would be cast as Satakarni’s romantic interest in the film.

What’s more? Top technicians in the country are being considered for the film. Director Krish is wanting to rope in ace technicians who worked for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic Bajirao Mastani and even started talks with them to zero in on for the film. Given that Krish share good rapport with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as the duo worked for Gabbar, the Hindi remake of Tagore, Krish is seeking Sanjay’s help in the matter.

Meanwhile, the pre-production work is going on at blitzkrieg speed. A huge fort and Mahals are going to be erected on the 9-Acre land in Chilkur. Although Krish planned to erect the sets in Ramoji Film City or Ramanaidu Studios, he later shifted it to his friends place in Chilkur so that it’d give Krish a free hand to shoot the film.

Though Balayya got several opportunities in the past to go to Hindi industry and expand his base, he shunned. Now that it’s a historical film and landmark film in his career, it needs to be seen whether Balayya would give his nod or not. It’s learnt that Krish wants the film to be dubbed in Hindi and released. If at all, it’s gonna be Balayya’s first-ever Hindi film. Let’s wait and watch.

But the opening day collections of Pawan’s Ugadi release Sardaar Gabbar Singh and SRK’s yesterday’s Fan tell a different picture. While Sardaar’s opening day numbers were around 31 crores share, Fan has raked in a paltry net amount of 19.20 crores, which means that the shares would be even lesser.

However, Sardaar’s collections nosedived from day 2 whereas Fan’s day two collections were rich solid across the country. Sardaar has so far collected 87 crore gross worldwide and SRK’s Fan would cross it easily and the Baadshah will eventually reign supreme over Power Star.

Tamil star Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s much hyped action drama Theri released in Telugu as Police. Dil Raju gave the film a wide release, but the film failed to garner decent openings and even critics gave it a mixed response. On the other hand, the film’s Tamil version Theri is doing decent business solely on Vijay’s star power.

Police is directed by young filmmaker Atlee, who impressed everyone with the super hit emotional drama, Raja Rani. However, Atlee failed to write a gripping and convicing script for Police and a major complaint about his film was his lackluster story and screenplay.

Now, Police has left Mahesh’s fans in jitters. Just a few days before Police’s release, there were reports that Atlee will direct Mahesh in a love cum action drama. Even though the film will only materialize only next year, fans are already apprehensive about the kind of script Atlee would come up with for Superstar.
