Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh has completed its first week run at the box office. The movie had take a sensational start on its release day but struggled from the very next day. Bad talk and reviews hampered the movie run even in the first weekend of its release.

The struggles just mounted from Monday. Trade is due for very heavy losses due to this project which has to become at least a non-Baahubali industry hit for a break-even venture. There are demands that Pawan Kalyan should come to the rescue of the trade.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri showed that the star is both a crowd puller as well as a money-earner. Theri’s first day collections have broken all records for the actor. It is his highest opening grosser. It opened to stupendous response and collected over Rs 12.5 crore in Tamil Nadu alone on the opening day.The film has also hit the bull’s eye in the overseas market by garnering $211,424 from premiere shows in the overseas market.

But, despite all these achievements, Theri could not beat the Vedalam of Ajith. Vedalam’s first day collections were around 15.5 crore. Many predicted that Theri will beat Vedalam in first day collections. But, the film apparently failed to overtake Vedalam. However, Ilayathalapathy’s fans argue that Theri fell short of the target only because the film could not be released in Chengalpet region. Normally, the first day collections in Chengalpet are around 7.5 crore.

Had there been no profit-sharing issue, Theri could have been released in Chengalpet too and this could have meant that Vijay would easily have overtaken Vedalam Ajith.But, for now, Vijay has to wait for another movie to overtake Ajith’s first day record.

Barely a week is there for the release of Allu Arjun’s “Sarrainodu” and the movie has failed to generate great buzz like “Sardaar Gabbar Singh” or other recent big movies did at the time of their releases.Allu Arjun and his team went for different approach for this movie’s promotional activity. They did not conduct audio event but had convened a huge pre-release event in Vizag. But the Vizag event attracted more political gossip than bringing positive buzz to the movie.

The promos and audio songs have failed to create any impact. Other than the “Blockbusteree” song, Thaman’s songs are not being played on Radio channels either.Sensing the low buzz, now the team is planning for the screening of the trailer in movie theatres from this weekend. Last year, when Allu Arjun released “S/o Sathyamurthy’, there was huge publicity campaign but this time hardly any such activity is seen.

Even the heroines Rakul, Catherine Tresa and Anjali are not promoting the movie.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Sharrat Marar’s friendship dates back to Johnny days and they remained close friends till date. While Sharrat worked as an executive producer for Johnny, he graduated as a co-producer with Pawan’s Gopala Gopala, which was an average venture and it failed to breakeven in several areas.The close buddies joined hands once again for the much hyped Sardaar Gabbar Singh, which released on Ugadi and bit the dust miserably.

The film is predicted to be making a loss of close to 40 crores and Pawan and Sharrat may have to compensate their buyers.This leaves Pawan with no other option but to act in another film to be produced by Sharrat Marar for his friendship and the buyers’ sake.

Latest buzz is that Pawan and Sharrat may rope in Trivikram to helm the project. Already, Sharrat faced two lots ventures with Pawan.Will he be third time lucky with Pawan?
