Why should we ban dubbing films?

Often, we come across the demand of banning other language films being dubbed into Telugu. Legendary playback singer, actor and dubbing artiste SP Balasubramanyam condemned this demand and suggested that filmmakers who vouch for ban on dubbing films should instead make better films. “Why should we ban dubbing films?,” Balu shoots a direct question.

Stating that dubbing other language films into Telugu as more challenging than making a straight film, Balu said that filmmakers should not look down on the dubbing films. Balu also reminded the instances where several low budget dubbing films ran well as compared to straight films featuring top Telugu stars.

Balu also recollected how he turned a dubbing artiste with music director Chakravarthy’s encouragement and also revealed his experiences behind dubbing for 8 roles in Kamal Haasan’s Dasavataram. SPB on Monday unveiled ‘Dubbing songs in Telugu Cinema’ research thesis and made the above comments.

Young Heroes Interested in Glam Mothers

Calling spade a spade, yesteryear actress Annapurna said that young heroes are interested in ‘glamourous’ and good-looking mothers and says that could possibly be the reason behind the reduce in roles to her. “When they play young on screen, naturally they’d prefer young and glamourous mothers. People like me would suit for granny roles. Even for granny roles, they’d want someone who’re seen in TV commercials,” says Annapurna in a candid interview to a news channel.

However, Annapurna doesn’t blame anyone but says, “It’s the trend in the society. Cinema follows the society. These days mothers are quite modern and glamourous. So audience expect the same from films as well.” She also says one can’t put onus on the stars completely as 50% is in the hands of the directors.

Annapurna adds that she’d like to act with all new-generation stars as it’d give her opportunity to learn new things in acting. Yet, she doesn’t regret. She says she’s pretty happy with what she has achieved as she shared screen space with almost all the legendary actors in the Telugu Cinema.

Legendary Music for Balakrishna’s 100

Music Devil Devi Sri Prasad will be scoring music for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Prestigious 100th film to be directed by Krish. He previously scored music for Balayya’s Legend and so this will be their second combination film.

This is also the first period film offer for Devi and so he is taking it as a challenge. One of the production houses involved in the film, First Frame Entertainments Pvt Ltd. registered the title ‘Gautamiputra Sathakarani’ with Telguu Film Chamber of Commerce.

Balakrishna already revealed that the movie is based on the story of Gautamiputra Sathakarani. So there are good chances for that to become the film title. According to Filmnagar sources, The movie will have its launch in Amaravati, the upcoming capital of AP on April 8th as Ugadi Special.

This is the first star hero movie launch in Amaravati. Balakrishna’s earlier film, Dictator is also the first film to have its audio launch in Amaravati. It is also said that Krish wants to rope in Rana Daggubati for an important role in the film.

Bad News coming up from Baahubali Camp

Here is some worrisome news coming up for Baahubali fans. A little birdie in Filmnagar says that Rajamouli recently watched some rushes of the film and is not very happy with the output. The ace director who is a hard task master reportedly wants to go for reshoots given the high expectations on the film in audience.

However reshoot will mean lot of time waste and also increase in the film budget. And so the film producers are also worried. APHerald.com tried to get in touch with Baahubali team regarding this news but they are not available for comment. The movie recently received National Award and so suddenly the hype and expectations on the film got doubled.

The makers on the other side, have announced the release date of the film as April 17th, 2017. The Release date will work wonders for the films as it is chosen keeping in mind – Summer, Tamil New Year, Good Friday and No Bollywood biggies before or after 50days. ‘Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali?’ is the million dollars question asked by film enthusiasts across the nation. The TDP’s AP president Kala Venkatrao made startling comments in Vizianagaram earlier today. The senior leader said that Telangana state is being ruled by the TDP government and he went on to justify his comments saying that the Telangana CM KCR and TRS’ senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao belonged to the TDP in the past.

The veteran politician made the above comments when he was asked by the media personnel if the TDP is inspired by TRS party’s Operation Akarsh while inducting the YSRCP MLAs.

Kala Venkatrao further said that only the party’s name was replaced in Telangana as TRS and that it’s the TDP which is ruling the newly formed state.

Well, looks like the TDP president has conveniently forgotten the fact that the party’s national president and state’s CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu originally hailed from the Congress.

Does that mean Andhra Pradesh is being ruled by the Congress party now? Does it also mean that the YSRCP is also a Congress party’s extension since Jagan too was a Congress member in the past?

Noted Indian personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, his daughter-in-law and Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai, Apollo Tyres promoter, Indiabulls promoter Sameer Gehlaut and DLF’s had honcho KP Singh etc found their names involved in the list of tax evaders.

A lot of hue and cry has been made by the media and fans of the Bachchans were anxious. Quickly reacting to the tax evasion and black money reports, Aishwarya Rai’s spokesperson issued a statement where Aishwarya refuted the allegations of hidden offshore dealings.

Aish clarified in her statement that she has no black money in the list of fraudulent companies mentioned in the leaked files. However, Aishwarya’s father-in-law and the legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is yet to make his statement.

More than 11 million documents from the secret files of the renowned Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonesca also being referred to as Panama Papers were leaked by a German media firm. Mossack Fonesca has its branches in more than 40 countries.

The leakage revealed the hidden offshore dealings of several global celebrities such as the Russian president Vladimir Putin, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping etc.

Many are wondering whether AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu is boasting or getting ready for a final battle. Couple of days back he shocked all by saying neither he nor his party cannot dance according to the whims and fancies of the BJP just because they are in alliance with them.

He said they are not demanding funds for the party or personal use but for the development of the state. He said he will now settle the issue with the Union Government led by PM Modi.The question now arises is when did CM Chandra Babu made these comments.

He did it in his meeting with his ministers but during that time he sent away all BJP members. Now this is raising suspicions.For the first time Chandra Babu increased his tone and tenor but he sent away BJP ministers. This is sending signals that he is scared of speaking in front of them.

Many are of the opinion that had he made those comments in presence of BJP ministers, message would have been sent in a strong and clear manner to Union Government.

BJP-TDP Honeymoon To End Soon?

If the reports coming from the Telugu Desam Party camp are to believed, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to end his honeymoon with the Bharatiya Janata Party sooner or later.

Naidu is learnt to have told his Cabinet colleagues a couple of days ago that he was fast losing patience over the indifferent attitude of the Narendra Modi government towards the TDP, while extending a helping hand to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the Telangana.

He asked his Cabinet colleagues to start exposing the tall claims of the BJP leaders that the Centre had given huge funds to AP in the last two years.

“If we continue our friendship with the BJP, we may soon land in a big soup. So, let us start our direct fight with the Centre in securing our due share of funds and grants. The Centre’s indifferent attitude towards the special category status issue has done enough damage to the TDP and the government. We may not immediately come out of the NDA, but we need to put up aggressive posture from now,” he reportedly told the ministers.

On the other hand, the BJP, too, is not keen on continuing friendship with the TDP. While some of its leaders have already been saying that their party would go it alone in the next elections, some others have started preparing the cadre for an independent fight.

The party is apparently not happy with Naidu for ignoring the alliance partner in giving nominated posts and entertaining their requests in taking up various works.
