Despite four new releases, including that of Soukyam, the Box Office cash registers are refusing to ring. Gopichand hoped to repeat another Loukyam with Soukyam, but ended up with an unprecedented disaster. The film came with a bang and left with a whimper. It vanished even before the first week run.

Ditto with Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu of Allari Naresh- Mohan Babu combo. The film couldn’t get even ordinary opening and never really picked up. Bhale Manchi Roju did get a positive talk, but sans star value, this crime comedy is refusing to look up. This film did better in the overseas market, but as for the local market, it couldn’t pick up..

Jatha Kalise too had average opening. There were no magical results for Sai Korrapati. Though Loafer did slightly better in the second weekend, it cannot be termed an overall success. This week two romantic entertainers – Nenu Shailaja and Abbayito Ammayi – were released. They do not have any competition till Sankranthi. So if even one of the two manages to do well, it will bring good tidings for Tollywood.

RGV whose latest outing Killing Veerappan is creating sensations at Kannada box office has also revealed the film’s plot. ‘Film starts with the raise of Radha and ends with the death of Ranga..That’s why I am calling the film “Vangaveeti”. “Vangaveeti” will make “Raktacharitra” seem like a children’s film.

The film “Vangaveeti” will tell the actual reality of the realities of Vangaveetis,’ asserted RGV. As all we know, Vangaveeti’s is powerful family in Vijayawada. After Radha Krishna was killed by Communists, Ranga took over the charge of his brother’s legacy.

He became more popular in his own community. He was an Indian National Congress politician. Ranga was then murdered by group of people who came in Ayyapa Mala costume. Meanwhile, RGV’s Killing Veerappan Telugu version is likely to release on January 7th.

Given the response and considering the holidays producers have added more screens to have a good reach and the tickets prices are reduced to $10 (Adults) & $5 (Kids) to encourage more audience to watch this crime comedy entertainer.

The first song teaser of Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam was released yesterday on the eve of New Year. The song composed by Mickey J Meyer is reportedly rip off an international song. The social media was abuzz with this. Promptly reacting to these allegations, Mickey posted his version on Facebook. He denied of copying any song for his song of Brahmotsavam.

“Some people started writing that the song is copied, well., it obviously isn’t and it is a original composition.,,( the tune/melody/ orchestration ) a guitar chord can be same for many songs.,, no one has a copyright on a chord structure,” he posted in his defense.

But many people on facebook and twitter commented that the song is Xerox copy of this international song. This is not the first time that a Tollywood music director is accused of copying other song. But Mickey says he doesn’t steal any music from anyone as he has skills to compose original songs. He also clarifies that he was also not forced by the director Srikanth Addala to copy this music bit.

Here is an exclusive gossip, which is making rounds among trade circles. Going by the buzz, King Nagarjuna’s ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’, which is slated for release on January 15 as a Sankranthi gift for the audiences, is gossiped to  have been postponed. However, no official announcement of postponement from the makers.

As we know, Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Dictator’, Young Tiger NTR’s ‘Naannaku Prematho’ and young sensation Sharwanand’s ‘Express Raja’ have been scheduled for release during the festive days of Sankranthi. Every movie faces the problems of shortage of theaters.

‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ has Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi in female lead roles, while Anasuya and Hamsa Nandini will sizzle in key roles. Having been made as a family entertainer, ‘SCN’ has its music scored by Anup Rubens. Debutant Kalyan Krishna has directed this film on Annapurna Studios.

A couple of days ago, it was buzzed that Megastar Chiranjeevi would paid Rs.30 crores as the remuneration for his 150th film and which is the all time record in South India along with Rajinikanth, who is also being paid Rs.30 crores for ‘Kabali’.

Update is that, Lyca Productions, who is co-producing the movie has reportedly fixed the remuneration of Chiranjeevi as Rs.30 crores and they have already paid Rs.15 crores as an advance to the ultimate star of Tollywood.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi’s ‘Kaththi’ film will go on floors at the earliest this year. Milky beauty Tamannah was gossiped to be the female lead of this film. VV Vinayak will direct this movie. Mega Power Star Ram Charan  along with Lyca Productions will produce the movie. The movie is slated for release for Dussehra season of this year.
