Mumbai: Bollywood actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, who turned 51 on Monday, said his wish is to buy a house for his mother in Varanasi, where she spent her childhood days.

Sticking to his annual tradition of cutting a birthday cake with the media at his residence here, Aamir, who sported a moustachioed look, said: “This year, my wish is I want to buy a house for my ammi (mother) in Benaras where she has spent her childhood days. I have been thinking about it for a long time.

“I would like to request the people who are living in that house, so that I can buy it for my ammi.”

For the occassion, Aamir chose to flaunt a casual look. He wore a white T-shirt with a rough sketch on it — and the “Taare Zameen Par” star said it was done by his son Azad Rao Khan.

“Today I am wearing a T-shirt which is made by Azad. Azad made the T-shirt for me, and Kiran got it printed. In fact, Azad was the first one to wish me today.”

The actor plans to spend the day with his family and will later celebrate with his mother and near and dear ones.

Mumbai: Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu actioner “Sardaar Gabbar Singh”, a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster “Gabbar Singh”, will be dubbed and released worldwide in Hindi too along with its Telugu version on April 8.

“‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ has a universal story with a sensibility that should appeal to audiences pan India. Filmmaking cannot be confined to a certain area or demographics and our film attempts a unique connect with India, especially the Hindi belt,” Pawan said in a statement.

Directed by Bobby, Pawan will be seen portraying the character of Gabbar Singh, a dashing maverick police officer, who is posted in the princely town of Rattanpur set on the border of Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Sunil Lulla, managing director, Eros International, said: “With the enormous positive buzz and praise the film’s teaser promos have been receiving, we feel confident this film will have a wider appeal, including with the non-Telugu speaking audiences.”

The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sharad Kelkar and Kabir Duhan Singh.

Comedians turning hero in Tollywood is not a new phenomenon and the latest one to join the bandwagon is ‘Satyam’ Rajesh.

He has played the male lead in upcoming movie ‘Nayaki’ and guess who the heroine is? Trisha!!!

But Rajesh appears to be worried that his intentions may be misunderstood for he was at pains to clarify in an interview to an English daily that he had no dreams of turning a full-fledged hero.

“Nayaki will be my first and last movie as a hero. I am not a hero, I am an artiste. I realized that being a hero is a completely different ballgame. After acting in 350 movies and spending 12 years as an actor and playing myriad roles, trying to be a hero doesn’t make any sense.

I’m open to playing good roles -negative ones, comedy, supporting roles -but definitely not the hero,” said Satyam Rajesh.

Maybe he has learnt a thing or two from Sunil’s experience. Having sai that, who knows what destiny has in store for any person? Maybe Sunil will end up as a commercial super star after all!

‘Rebel Star’ Krishnam Raju has many plans to make movies with ‘Young Rebel Star’ Prabhas. He earlier planned a movie called “Vishala Netralu” with Prabhas but it didn’t happen.

A few months later an announcement came that he would produce a big-budgeted movie with Prabhas once he completes “Baahubali 2”. But Prabhas had already given a nod to director Sujith for his next movie.

Still, Krishnam Raju is not losing hope to make a grand movie with Prabhas and revive their production house Gopi Krishna Movies.

The latest reports suggest that he is planning to remake the classic movie “Bhakta Kannappa” with Prabhas on a big scale. Krishnam Raju himself starred in that movie which was produced by Prabhas’s father in 1976.

Two years ago, Tanikella Bharani began working on the remake of “Bhakta Kannappa” with Sunil as hero but it was stalled due to lack of funds. Then Manchu Vishnu came forward to act in the film as hero. But no progress was seen on that front. Hence Krishnam Raju is now seriously thinking to make it with Prabhas.

On the other hand, Prabhas has other plans he doesn’t want to do such lavish historical or devotional movies for another two or three years.

After the release of “Baahubali 2”, he wants to do couple of romantic or action movies just to lessen the burden of the image he acquired with the “Baahubali”.
