Krishnashtami Movie Review – 2/5
Story:
Krishna Vara Prasad (Sunil) is an NRI who is away from India for about 18 years and he is always longing to visit India. The moment arrived one fine day as Krishna is on his way to India to convince his parents against a marriage proposal they brought him. On the way, his connecting flight gets delayed in Europe. There he meets a girl and they fall for each other. But troubles await for them as soon as they land in Hyderabad. What happens next in the story and how Sunil manages to win her hand forms the rest.
Performances:
For some reason, it appeared like Sunil is not so interested in the project. The film misses Sunil mark energy which is his major strength. Even his dances are also not up to the mark as there is not attempt to add any special steps. Both the heroines – Nikki Galrani and Dimple Chopade looked like weaklinks for the film.
Nikki looked aged than she is actually is while Dimple looked like one of the group dancers. Brahmi entertained in couple of scenes as ‘Selfie Bulfie’. Prudhvi and Saptagiri were not used to their potential. Mukesh Rishi, Asutosh Rana, Ajay and Other Supporting cast are adequate.
Technical Performances:
Vasu Varma made a disastrous debut with Naga Chaitanya’s Josh few years and struggled a lot to get his second project. But he squandered the second oppurtunity. Krishnashtami is lack luster attempt. The story is a very routine one and we have seen several such attempts in Telugu over the last decade or so.
If not for some comedy scenes here and there and few emotions which worked out the movie would have been an outright disaster. The movie has foreign and Rayalaseema backdrops so as to attract classes and masses but the missing novel factor hurt the film more than anything.
Music composed by Dinesh is below par. Two songs were shot well. Cinematography by Chota K.Naidu is good. Stunt composition and editing looked average. Production Values by Dil Raju are good.

Final Say:
Krishnashtami is a disappointing effort since the start to the end. Dil Raju was once known for churning out tasteful, different movies but now is delivering only pale and hackyneyed movies like Krishnashtami. Watch the film if you are ready to sit down that two and half hours for some couple of good comedy and emotional scenes here and there. Wait continues for Sunil and Vasu Varma for that solid hit.
Nani’s girl flooded with offers!
Mehreen who recently made her filmy debut with Nani’s Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha, just bagged the second offer in Tollywood. She will be romancing Sai Dharam Tej is his upcoming project which will be directed by BVS Ravi. Dil Raju will be producing the film on his Sri Venkateswara Creations Banner.
It is said that she was also approached to play the female lead besides Kalyan Ram in his next to be directed by Puri Jagannadh. She is yet to sign the dotted line for this project. If she manages to bag hit with either of these films, then she will definitely become a hot property in the industry.
Mehreen is currently in the success tour of Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha. Despite the positive talk, the movie is not performing up to its talk and the makers are trying their level best to boost the collections with promotional gimmicks.
Sai Kumar signed for Janatha Garage!
Dialogue King Sai Kumar is signed to play an important role in Young Tiger NTR’s Janatha Garage. Sources say he will be playing the role of NTR’s father in the movie. Sai Kumar’s inclusion will make the cast further stronger. The film will start rolling from later this month.
The makers have erected a special set worth 2.5 Crore for this film shoot at Saradhi Studios. The makers will be shooting the Flashback sequences of the film involving Mohanlal first. Tarak will join the shoot in the second schedule after a week of the shooting start date.
They are planning to release the movie on August 12th, 2016. The release date working in the movie’s favour as there is a long weekend holiday due to Independence day holiday on Monday. Koratala Siva who delivered blockbusters like Mirchi and Srimanthudu is wielding megaphone for this film.
Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer and he recently began the music sitting of the film. Samantha and Nitya Menen are said to be the female leads in the movie which will be produced by Srimanthudu producer Mythri Movies Makers.
Only One Movie Excites Mahesh Babu Now
Not Brahmotsavam or any other movie of himself in pipeline, but there is a movie that attracted Mahesh a lot. The Superstar attends a good number of audio events, speaks few words and wishes them the best. Here is something special and why not, its his Superstar dad Krishna’s movie Sri Sri after a long break.
Mahesh babu joined the audio launch event of Sri Sri yesterday and spoke at length about Sri Sri unlike at any other events. Mahesh claims to be super excited about his dad’s movie and reveals the reasons for it.
Mahesh Babu recalls watching Krishna in this getup some 4 months back excited him a lot and its the trailer that doubled the excitement. Calling himself a biggest fan of Superstar Krishna, Mahesh babu felt glad for being a guest at his dad’s movie event, which usually happens otherwise.
Wishing the team a big success, Mahesh thanked the director Shiva for Sri Sri script. Mahesh’s brother in law, Sudheer Babu could not be more thankful to Krishna than this. Sudheer gives away all his success credit to the veteran star for being his strength and inspiration. Not just that, the Bhale Manchi Roju actor reveals the surprise guest role of himself in Sri Sri.
Coming Soon In Hyd: Delhi’s Odd-Even Rule
Starting from January 1, the Delhi government successfully implemented the Odd-Even rule in the city for 15 days. This new rule was to control the city’s alarming pollution levels and of course the traffic menace. Apprehensive civilians, even though were skeptical initially, supported this new rule understanding its advantages.
Now, the Telangana Road Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to implement the same rule in Hyderabad. After a formal discussion with the Pollution Control Board, the RTA officials forwarded a detailed proposal to the government and is waiting for the think tank’s green light.
In this Odd-Even rule, cars with number plates ending with an odd number will ply on the roads only on odd dates and cars with number plates ending with an even number will ply on the roads only on even dates. Those who violated the rule had to cough up Rs.2,000 as fine.
However, bureaucrats, women, patients and physically challenged commuters, emergency vehicles like ambulance and fire engines were exempted from this rule, along with all CNG-driven vehicles, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and two-wheelers etc.
50 Days Poster: No Credits For Sailaja?
Unanimous and Universal superhit! Need not get into literal meanings but its not an exaggeration about Nenu Sailaja blockbuster success. It ended the long wait of Ram, giving him the much needed success and the latest poster reminds us of it again.
Its a 50 day poster of Nenu Sailaja featuring Ram on it. All is well, but few film buffs are not so happy for that poster. Along with a fresh story and screenplay, Keerthy Suresh’s role in lead is unarguably the biggest asset and she even dominated Ram.
The actress garnered large number of fans after Nenu Sailaja and bagged a list of movies after that. Though the ‘days’ posters are not a matter these days, her fans are little upset with prestigious poster with just Ram’s picture on it. As a matter of fact, Sailaja deserves a place on superhit poster, for sure!
Samantha’s ‘No’ To Trivikram’s Bathroom Scene
We all know the kind of chill Samantha sent down the hearts of her fans when she appeared in a towel in a deleted bathroom scene in Atharintiki Dharedhi. Even though the secede couldn’t make it to the screens, it surely stormed YouTube.
But this time, Sam’s fans will surely have an eye feast as they will get to see Sam in a bathroom scene in Trivikram’s A..Aa. However, convincing Samantha for this scene was a huge pain for Trivikram. Apparently, Trivikram planned to shoot the scene in a star hotel’s bathroom to make it look original.
However, Samantha outrightly refused to shoot in the hotel’s bathroom. This got Trivikram in a fix and after a lot of persuasion, the director dropped his idea and instead, asked his art director to build a bathroom set.
The set was built in no time and Sam shot for a romantic scene, which is said to be a major highlight of A..Aa. So folks, wait until this summer to see Samantha’s bathroom romance.
