When Priyanka Chopra made her Hollywood debut with the super hit TV series Quantico on ABC, the entire country was in praise of the 33-year-old beauty’s achievement. Now, yet another Indian actress is following Priyanka’s footsteps and signed a Hollywood TV series.

Preeti Desai, the 31-year-old Indian-British actress cum model who impressed everyone in Shor In The City and One By Two, has been signed on in a lead role for the soon to be aired HBO series Gods and Secrets.

Directed by Indian filmmaker Adi Shankar, who is popularly called the Tarantino of the digital age, this superhero action drama series will feature popular Hollywood stars like Denise Richards, Jane Seymour, Twilight stars Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone and the Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte.

Preeti, the former Miss Great Britain, has also been signed up with Untitled Entertainment, one of the top management companies in North America.

The teaser starts off on a colorful note with Nara Rohith as Rishi who is in his quest for love. Rishi bumps into Savitri, a slim and svelte Naditha who teases her fans by showing off her navel and her slender waistline and impresses with her usual exuberance.

A series of family establishing shots give an overall family drama feeling and  reveal a wide list of characters. The makers played it smart by not giving out too many details, except hinting that the film’s story is based on Savitri’s marriage. Watch the rest in the cinemas this summer.

RGV’s much anticipated ‘last Tollywood film’ Vangaveeti is creating nonstop noise in the media world. The director, who loves controversies and free publicity, has already succeeded in turning everyone’s attention towards his film. However, amidst all the hullabaloo, there are also several voices that are dead against RGV’s Vangaveeti.

During a live TV show last night, RGV was countered by actor turned politician Sivaji, who was deeply concerned and upset by RGV explicitly using the Kamma, Kapu castes in the latest song from Vangaveeti. Sivaji requested Varma not to inflate tempers of the already hurt Andhraites in these volatile situations.

Stating that Andhra Pradesh has already been ‘raped’ and is reeling from several burning issues, Sivaji appealed to RGV not to rattle off the 30-year of faction feud and rake in a fresh political and social unrest by exploiting the Kamma, Kapus castes’ reference in his film.

RGV then gave a counter to Sivaji’s late night rants saying that he is not a ‘class 5’ student to be lectured by Sivaji about what kind of films he should be making and reiterated that his film will only showcase the feud between two families and that Kamma and Kapu castes have nothing to do with the film.

RGV also asked Sivaji to watch the Kamma, Kapu video song to understand his perspective on the film. Ironically, the Kamma, Kapu song outrageously exploited the caste references. Wonder what perspective RGV was talking about.
