It is known news that actress and former MLA, Jayasudha, joined the TDP yesterday. Jayasudha was elected as an MLA from Secunderabad constituency on behalf of the Congress Party in 2009. However, she lost in the election battle in 2014. From then on, she has been inactive in politics and is concentrating more on acting films.

Jayasudha met the AP CM and TDP’s head yesterday in Vijayawada and joined the party in presence of him. Addressing to the media men, Jayasudha said the credit for the development of Hyderabad goes to Chandrababu Naidu. She also said she campaigned for the party in 1990s. She revealed that she enacted many films with late NTR.

Ever since the formation of Telangana, TDP’s cadre in the state gets weakened. Political analysts viewed that Jayasudha should have joined the TRS rather the TDP in the state. However, Jayasudha’s well wishers are hoping the senior actress will have bright future in the AP politics rather Telangana. It remains to be seen how well Jayasudha’s political career gets shaped up in future.

Senior character artist Kaikala Satyanarayana is known for lord Yama characters played by him in many socio fantasy films with Yamalokam backdrop. As we know, King Nagarjuna’s ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ was also made as a socio fantasy entertainer.

Mega Brother Nagababu has sported the role of lord Yama in ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. Although his character was confined to a few scenes, he did quite well in the role and reminded Satyanarayana. In spite of heavy competition Young Tiger NTR fixed January 13 as the release date of his latest offing ‘Naannaku Prematho’. And the movie gets the festival advantage availed by spinning money at the box office.

And now, NTR, himself, reportedly confirmed the release date of his new movie ‘Janatha Garage’ as August 12. This is a clever strategy indeed! This is the auspicious day of ‘Varalakshmi Vratham’ followed by Second Saturday, Sunday and Independence Day. The movie is expected to to score record collections during these holidays.

‘Janatha Garage’ will go on floors in the month of February. The movie will be directed by Koratala Siva, whose previous films ‘Mirchi’ and ‘Srimanthudu’ scored blockbusters. Samantha and Nithya Menon will romance with NTR in the film. Devi Sri Prasad will compose the music of the movie. Mythri Movie Makers is the production house.

Behind The Scene: Games Naidu Plays

The farmers who gave their lands for ‘Amaravathi’ have reason to feel aggrieved. They are expressing their anger by not attending the awareness meetings being conducted by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). “What is the point in attending these meetings? They promise us something and do something completely different,” lamented one farmer.

Isn’t it ironic that a master plan developed for Amaravathi is submitted to these farmers in English? Why is Naidu not giving them a copy of the master plan in Telugu? Also, Naidu will be allotting developed plots to the farmers in low-lying areas whereas the lands which have commercial value are being given to corporates.

It is only the Communist Party that has been genuinely fighting the grievances of Andhra Pradesh right from day one since bifurcation. Unfortunately, they lack the charisma to attract the youth and cadre with their ideology as political parties in AP base themselves more on casteist lines than anything else.

While everyone expected ‘Nannaku Prematho’ and ‘Dictator’ to vie for the top honors this Pongal, it is ‘King’ Nagarjuna who beat the competition by a mile.

‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ has set the box-office on fire and been declared a unanimous blockbuster universally. After being virtually written off following the successive disasters ‘Bhai’ and ‘Greekverudu’, Nag bounced back with ‘Manam’ and an immensely successful ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’.

What’s more, his film ‘Oopiri’ in the direction of Vamsi Pydapalli which is on location is suddenly hot property with buyer already quoting good prices for the rights. The fight among the Tollywood cocks this Pongal has seen Nagarjuna emerge the undisputed winner.

A local court in Meerut on Friday accepted a plea by Hindu Mahasabha against Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and a private TV channel for purportedly showing the actors inside a temple wearing shoes during a reality show. The court has fixed the date for hearing on January 18.

He alleged that no one should enter any religious places with their shoes and airing it on TV was insensitive as it hurt people’s religious sentiment. Rajput said, when the channel didn’t respond and the administration or the police didn’t take steps over the issue, a petition was filed at the court of CJM Sanjay Kumar Singh against the channel, the programme’s director and also Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

The promotional video was shot in front of a green screen and the temple in the background was added later with special VFX. This was aired a week before Shah Rukh Khan headed over to the Salman hosted show to promote his film ‘Dilwale’ that hit theatres on December 18.

New Delhi: With an income tax holiday for three years and exemption from capital gains levies on venture capital investments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the “Start-Up India Action Plan” here on Saturday with an enabling eco-system to promote and nurse entrepreneurship. A host of incentives unveiled by him for start-ups also included self-certification and a three-year exemption from inspections, an online portal and mobile app, an 80-percent cut in the patent application fee and a single-point hub for hand-holding. At an event at Vigyan Bhavan conference complex here to launch the “Start-Up India Action Plan”, the prime minister also announced a Rs.10,000-crore fund for new enterprises, equal opportunity in government procurement, a Rs.500-crore credit guarantee scheme and easier exit norms.

The list of incentives also included 35 new incubators under the public-private partnership mode, 31 new innovation centres at national institutes, seven new research parks, five bio-clusters and a mission with sector-specific incubators, labs, pre-incubation training and seed money. “We want to ensure that we interfere as little as possible with the start-ups. For that, we have introduced self-certification. No inspection for three years,” the prime minister told the event to repeated applause from Who’s Who of India’s start-up and Silicon Valley ecosystems. He also said his government intended to club all related legislation involving start-ups and took a dig at the opposition in this regard. “You all know, where it is stuck. You must must use the internet and tell them so that important matters can be cleared in parliament.”

The prime minister also said the difference that people will find today with governance in India was that on a Saturday, when it is an official day off, with no question of any activity after 6 p.m., such a grand event as today’s was taking place. The prime minister said he wanted the youth today to transform themselves from job seekers to job givers. “I see that energy in this hall. It reflects the enthusiasm that lies in the hearts of our youth across the country,” he said, adding he wanted start-ups to also look beyond IT. During the day-long event, several interactive sessions were held with stakeholders, ministers and mandarins on topics ranging from innovation and funding to promoting women entrepreneurs and mentoring.

“Today, it’s been a fascinating experience,” Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in his address, referring to the day-long interactions. “Not only does it mark a change in the social profile of India, but a change in the mindsets of Indians,” Jaitley added. He also said the government will ensure that it will only be a facilitator for start-ups. “Our only subsequent relation with start-ups will be when they pay their taxes in the year-end and continue to grow.” Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also spoke on similar lines and said discussions were evocative on what start-ups can do for India, if alone the government can understand them. “Start-ups have spoken loud and clear, and we have heard the message.”

Those who spoke at the final session included SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son, GreyOrange’s Samay Kohli, LimeRoad’s Suchi Mukherjee, InMobi’s Naveen Tewari, Ocimum’s Anuradha Acharya, Practo’s Shashank N.D., WeWork’s Adam Neumann, PaperBoat’s Neeraj Kakkar and Oyo’s Ritesh Agarwal.

Mysoora To Turn His Coat Again?

Share

htr5

Former MP and YSR Congress party political affairs committee member M V Mysoora Reddy is all set to turn his coat again, if sources in the party are to be believed. Mysoora, who had defected from the Telugu Desam Party into the YSR Congress party, before 2014 elections, is understood to be dejected with the reports that he might not get the party ticket for the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled to be held in March, as party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is preferring V Vijaya Sai Reddy for the RS nomination.

Besides this, Mysoora has not been feeling comfortable in the party, as Jagan has not been listening to his advices on Rayalaseema movement and other political issues. Sources said TDP MP C M Ramesh is playing a role in bringing Mysoora back into the TDP and party president N Chandrababu Naidu is also not averse to this proposal, as it would help weaken the YSR Congress party to some extent in Kadapa district. Naidu is learnt to have agreed to consider Mysoora’s candidature for the MLC seat in 2017.

This is the third defection of Mysoora in his long political career. He was in the Congress party for quite long time and had defected into the TDP, where he enjoyed the Rajya Sabha term twice. He, later, jumped into the YSR Congress party after the death of his bete noire Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. Now, he might come back into the TDP to enjoy power and positions.

Looks like controversies and Bollywood’s Khan heroes together are becoming a norm these days. While Salman Khan has just come out of a major legal hassle of his life, the hit-and-run case, Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan made headlines recently with his comments on intolerance in India.

And now, a local court in Meerut accepted the petition filed by Hindu Mahasabha against both the Khans for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments by wearing shoes inside a temple during the shooting of the hit reality show Bigg Boss 9.

The court has ordered both the Khans to appear before the court for a hearing on January 18. In his petition, Bharat Rajput, the president of Hindu Mahasabha’s Meerut unit alleged that both Salman and Shah Rukh entered inside a Kali temple set on the sets of Bigg Boss 9. The controversial episode was aired by a leading entertainment channel in December.

Chennai: Popular actor Dhanush on Saturday said he endorses the ancient bull taming sport Jallikattu. “Happy maattu Pongal. Also, I never made any comments regarding Jallikattu. I support Jallikattu. The news that’s going on is a rumour. Thank you,” tweeted Dhanush, who is megastar Rajinikanth’s son-in-law.

Dhanush clarified that he is not associated with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an animal rights organisation which is against Jallikattu. “I’m not a brand ambassador of Peta. I was only awarded by them once for being a vegetarian,” he posted. The controversial sport is being opposed by animal rights activists.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court declined to permit Jallikattu, in which a bull vaulter is expected to hang on to the bull’s hump for a stipulated distance or hold on to the hump for a minimum of three jumps made by the bull. Many young men die or get injured in the process.
