Rakul plays deglam role in Sarainodu
Rakul Preet Singh is one of the most sought heroines in Tollywood today. She has two back to back star releases with Bruce Lee and Nannaku Prematho and will be romancing Stylish Star Allu Arjun next in his Sarainodu.
Until now the actress is her glamorous best in all the films she acted, but for the first time for Sarainodu, she is playing a completely deglam role. She will be seen as a girl of a remote village and will not even have makeup.
Sarainodu will have its audio launch on February 14th as Valentines day Special. The movie shooting is progressing at brisk pace and April 8th release is planned. Disha Patani who made her debut with Loafer will be dancing for the item song in the film.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan who is currently on a holiday in Bengaluru will be back to Hyderabad next week. His next project, the remake of Thani Oruvan will have its launch on February 10th. The regular shooting will immediately followed.
The movie is planned for the second half of the next year. Rakshak is the title in rumour mills for the film. The makers are in talks with Shruti Hassan to romance Charan in the film. Aravind Swamy will be seen in a crucial role, a role which he also played in the original.
Ram Charan’s uncle, Allu Aravind and Senior Producer NV Prasad will be jointly producing the film which is being directed by Surender Reddy. NV Prasad earlier produced Charan’s Racha. Hiphop Tamizha will be composing music for the film.
Sharwanand says marriage can wait
Young Hero Sharwanand’s Express Raja is doing well at the box office despite intense competition from biggies in Sankranthi race. Despite the average talk, the movie is being helped immensely by the festival holidays advantage.
However Sharwanand in an interview said, he is not fully confident of the movie before release. “To be very honest, I am scared of releasing the movie for Sankranthi when three big films are already in fray. But now I am relieved with the movie response,” he said.
On his marriage, Sharwanand said, “Currently my full concentration is on my career. There is good time for marriage”. Sharwanand is one of the most eligible bachelors in Tollywood. He is also one hero who commands good female following.
NTR rocking at US Box Office!
Young Tiger NTR is simply rocking at USA Box Office. The movie had crossed One Million dollars gross at US Box Office on Saturday and the movie is already a breakeven venture in the first three days of its run (including Premieres).
According to estimations, trade is expecting the movie to touch 1.5 Million dollars gross by the end of the first weekend run at the box office. If everything goes well, the movie may touch 2 Million dollars gross by the end of second weekend there.
If the premieres of Nannaku Prematho are screened as per plan, the figure would have been even big. NTR will be the only hero after Prabhas and Mahesh to have 2 Million dollars gross. Prabhas and Mahesh previously joined the club with their Baahubali – The Beginning and Srimanthudu movies.
Soggade Chinni Nayana already in to Profits Zone!
King Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana is rocking at the box office this Sankranthi. By today, the movie is either in to breakeven zone or in to Profits Zone in many areas. For an instance, the movie will beat the full run share of Manam in one week itself.
The movie has got less number of theaters in this heavy competition. And so there is severe scarcity of theaters. In several areas, extra shows are squeezed in to accommodate the crowd. In some remote areas, midnight and early morning shows are also being screened.
Box Office analysts say the movie is likely to be the biggest hit of Nagarjuna’s career. Currently Manam is in that spot. If everything goes well, it will be the first 40 Crore share film for the actor. In such case, it will be the second 40 Crore share of a Senior hero after Balakrishna’s Legend.
Nannaku Prematho And SCN Exceeded Expectations
No one in US trade has expected Nannaku Prematho to hold until the weekend going by its first day talk and with so many options for the audience to go for. But the film has exceeded everybody’s expectations by approaching $1.5 Million mark within its first weekend. This is phenomenal show on any level.
Soggade Chinni Nayana too is doing superb business in US and is into profits within two days. The rights of this film were bought for Rs. 60 lakh and the buyer is looking at a very good profit with SCN attracting families in big numbers. The movie has breached the $400K mark by Saturday and has a chance to do around $700K in its full run.
Dictator as expected couldn’t grab the attention of overseas audience with so many class movies and entertainers to compete with. Express Raja is paying the price for entering into Sankranthi race. It is still doing well but could have done so better had it avoided this clash.
Let My Sons Deal With Their Failures: Nagarjuna
Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna says he lets his sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil, who are now acting full-time, deal with their failures and never tries to interfere in their career choices. “It’s important that they learn to deal with their failures. While I share the disappointment of the failures with them, I never try to take control of the situation. I’ve had my share of flops too.
I learnt from them and I expect the same from my sons,” Nagarjuna told IANS. Last year, Nagarjuna launched the career of his second son Akhil with much fanfare. His debut film “Akhil” tanked and the 56-year old star, naturally, was dejected. “We were in a state of shock. I was completely disappointed and it took me nearly a week to come to terms with the situation. I’m not sure if the film was good or bad; it just didn’t work. We’ve all taken the failure in our stride,” he said.
While Nagarjuna says he won’t interfere in the career choices of his sons, he’d always be willing to make suggestions. Quoting the example of Naga Chaitanya’s “Majnu”, Telugu remake of the Malayalam superhit film “Premam”, he said: “When I saw ‘Premam’, I thought it was a beautiful film. I felt it’d be perfect for Chaitanya, so we decided to remake it. I didn’t impose my suggestion on my son.”
The Akkineni trio worked together in 2014 Telugu drama “Manam”, which also featured late legendary actor and Nagarjuna’s father Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Nagarjuna says he’d love to work with his sons again. “We don’t work together just for the heck of it. If there’s an interesting project like ‘Manam’, then why not,” he added.
NTR Affected By Balakrishna
Nannaku Prematho has been running good taking advantage of the Sankranthi holidays. The film has been holding well in mass centers despite not so encouraging talk and heavy competition. However Nannaku Prematho could have done better if Balakrishna’s Dictator didn’t lock horns with it.
The effect of Dictator on Balakrishna is particularly felt in Andhra and Ceded regions. Dictator has been doing good business in Ceded where it managed to get bigger release than Nannaku Prematho. Nannaku Prematho being a class film has added to it woes as Dictator dominated in Ceded area. Nannaku Prematho has collected an estimated share of Rs. 4.5 crore in Ceded in its first four days.
Without the presence of Dictator, NTR’s film could have got at least six crore in these four days. The effect of Dictator on Nannaku Prematho is there in some districts of Andhra Pradesh. Dictator however is having pathetic run in Nizam and overseas while rest of the Sankranthi releases are going great guns in these areas.
Save The Girl Now, World Later: Nagarjuna
Nagarjuna’s 92nd film Soggade Chinni Nayana (SCN) released this week. The actor who despite the incessant work pressure looks young enough to pass as his sons’ elder brother took out time from his busy schedule for a candid chat. Nagarjuna admits that he feels a sense of contentment at the way things are going for him and his sons, although the younger one’s debut film didn’t work at all.
“The elder one, Naga Chaitanya, is doing well. Even though the younger one, Akhil made the wrong choice for his debut film. People liked him, but they didn’t like the film at all. Akhil is too young to play a hero who saves the world. He should just concentrate on saving the girl right now,” he says. The actor then shifts his attention to his much-anticipated film. “By God’s grace, SCN has opened very well. I expect it to be one of the biggest hits of my career. We timed it as a festive release to coincide with Sankranti/Pongal when everyone is in the celebration mood.We were actually supposed to release the film last September. But when that didn’t happen we decided to wait for Sankranti.”
The actor plays a double role in his new film. “It is the third double role of my career. I enjoyed playing the two characters in my new film. It was like doing two different films at one time,” he says. Pleased with the response that the film has so far generated, Nag says that the success mantra is the film’s focus on rural India. “We don’t get that many films sets in rural India any more. I ensured that SCN takes the audience back to the village. We wanted a plot and film that unfolded in the lush greenery. And looks like the change of location seems to have worked.”
Nag is also all praise for his co-star Ramya Krishnan. “This is our eighth film together. We came into the Telugu film industry together and we’ll probably leave together too. She and I share an excellent working relationship. Working with her was a pleasure.”
Pawan’s Candidate Sidelined
Hyderabad: TDP leader Subhash Reddy was hopeful of contesting in the GHMC polls from Banjara Hills division. However, the seat was given to BJP as part of the alliance.
Subhash Reddy is a close friend of Pawan Kalyan and the latter immediately took up the issue with TDP. He let it be known that Subhash Reddy be given the ticket. TDP Hyderabad City President Gopinath then called up Pawan and informed the latter that they were unable to give a ticket to Subhash Reddy as the seat was reserved for the BJP.
Following this, supporters of Subhash Reddy held a dharna outside NTR Trust Bhavan to express their anger. But it is unlikely that Subhash Reddy will realize his dream currently, at least on a TDP ticket.
‘Youth Understanding Importance Of Realistic Films’
Mumbai: Bollywood’s “Khiladi” Akshay Kumar thinks that the taste of audiences has changed today and especially the youth are understanding the importance of realistic films. “Times are changing. The youth is understanding the value of these kind of cinema – like ‘Baby’,which was about RAW.. there weren’t any songs in it. But it did good business. So automatically the value of realism is increasing and will go on rising,” said Akshay in a press conference for his film “Airlift”.
His leading lady in the film, Nimrat Kaur echoed his views. “I can say this even for ‘The Lunchbox’, it was such a big standing example – such a small film which didn’t contain any of the aspects that you associate with a commercial formula, or relief or escapism. The commercial success and the numbers of the film, is also a standing proof of it,” she said.
“Airlift” is based on the evacuation of Kuwait-based Indians during the Iraqi occupation in 1990, where Akshay plays the crucial character of Ranjit Katyal who was an unsung hero in aiding the evacuation process. Refuting the assumption that he might be exhausted after back-to-back promotions for the film, Akshay said that the team viewed the film a few days back.
“I’m very happy with the way the movie has shaped. We feel proud that we have made this film. I eagerly waiting for people to watch it, feel proud that we are Indians and know what all things our people do to save people’s life.” “Airlift” is set to release January 22.

NTR’s Mission Accomplished
NTR has been trying hard to get rid of the ‘Mass Hero’ tag from many years. Despite honest efforts to earn loyal fan base among family section and youth, NTR had to wait for long time to achieve it. He is finally getting paid off for being persistent. NTR’s latest film Nannaku Prematho has been doing so well despite negative response from the mass audience.
Nannaku Prematho went on to join the Million dollar club in US proving NTR’s growing popularity in this territory. This is third film in the club for NTR next only to Mahesh Babu, the king of overseas box office. It is pretty hard for someone like NTR who has done hard-core mass movies to get the acceptance from class audience.
Nannaku Prematho will do a world of good for NTR as it would give confidence for NTR to try out as different movies as this. Also this would increase the business span of his commercial films. NTR next film Janata Garage directed by Koratala Siva has high chances to become big hit with the rise of NTR’s class following.
