“My role in Loafer is quite different” :Varun Tej
After the much-acclaimed performance in the period drama Kanche, Varun Tej no longer wants to repeat roles. The actor is now gearing up for the release of Puri Jagannadh’s Loafer, in which he will be seen in a different avatar. “I don’t want to restrict myself to one genre. My role in Loafer is quite different from that in Kanche and Mukunda. I play a conman in Loafer,” Varun says.
However, he is at ease with both Loafer and Kanche directors. “Krish and Puri Jagannadh are not too different; it’s just that their working styles are different. With Puri, shooting is a lot of fun. He gives actors a lot of space and takes inputs from us. On the other hand, Krish is satisfied only if we actors give him what he wants.”
2015 has indeed been a great year for Varun. “Kanche got me acceptance as an actor; it’s success indicates that people are ready for a change, which is definitely going to drive me towards different kinds of movies.” “There are quite a few interesting roles to choose from. I will finalise one more project very soon.”
CCL Bigger Than IPL
As we all know IPL is the biggest Sportainment property in India. Inspired from IPL, CCL Celebrity Cricket League which started off as a cricket league between different film industries in 2011, has been growing year on year and has grown onto become bigger than the IPL in TV Ratings in South India. This shows the popularity of Film Stars in South India.
CCL which is extremely popular in south india is struggling to gain popularity in northern region and hence been adding teams from north every year. This year CCL has roped in the Punjabi Film Industry to gain more popularity in North.
As we are aware Bollywood Team Mumbai Heroes is owned by Salman Khan and with the new Punjab Team coming in with Sonu Sood as the captain hope our home grown Hyderabad based CCL grows in North too.
The TV Ratings show that actors playing cricket and providing entertainment is bigger than real cricketers playing cricket.
Naidu hosted a lunch for KCR!
Vijayawada: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday invited his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu for Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam, a mega religious ritual he is going to organise near Hyderabad from December 23. Rao, along with Finance Minister E. Rajender, and his wife flew to this Andhra town in a helicopter from Hyderabad.
Andhra Pradesh’s Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu and other ministers welcomed Telangana chief minister, who drove straight to Naidu’s official residence to extend him an invitation. Naidu hosted a lunch for KCR, as Rao is popularly known. He was treated with a wide range of Andhra delicacies including fish curry and sweets.
The sumptuous lunch offered by Naidu included KCR’s favourite dishes such as Naatu Kodi (Desi chicken), Peetala Iguru (crabs curry), Palaav, Ulava Charu and Gongura. This was KCR’s second visit to Andhra in less than two months. Keeping aside all differences and bitterness of the movement for separate Telangana state, the TRS chief had participated in the foundation stone ceremony of new Andhra capital Amaravati near here in October.
KCR is holding Chandi Yagam at his farm house at Erravalli in Medak district near here for the well-being of Telangana. He has already invited President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the five-day rituals. About 4,000 priests and 1,500 Rutwiks will be performing the rituals in the mega event.
Rana Does Not Wish to Do More ‘Baahubalis’!!
Rana’s arresting performance as ‘Bhallaladeva’ in ‘Baahubali’ received phenomenal response from the audiences. Furthermore, analysts felt it was Rana who surpassed other artists with his tremendous screen presence.
Rana dons the same role in ‘Baahubali 2’ as did it in ‘Baahubali’. In the meanwhile, Rana celebrated his birthday yesterday. One of the producers of the film ‘Shobhu Yarlagadda tweeted, ” This is the 3rd birthday of @RanaDaggubati working with us on @Baahubali Movie! Wishing him many more happy birthday with us.”
But then, Rana seems to have got bored of working for the same role in the series of the movies with the same genre. This is obvious! If at all he does ‘Bhallaladeva’ for a series of ‘Baahubalis’, when will does he show variations of performance with different genres of movies? Maybe because of this factor he gave a little shock to the producer indicating he would not wish to do more ‘Baahubalis’. ” Thank you very much but I think the birthdays on this set should stop. What say?” replied Rana to Shobhu through a tweet.
Christmas Celebrations in Mahesh’s House
It was a celebration time for the cute kids of Prince Mahesh, Gautham and Sitara. Even before the arrival of Christmas, festive mood has been brought in Mahesh’s home with the presence of Santa Claus. The Christmas Grandpa presented gifts to the kids and made them merry.
Gautham has made his debut as a child artist with ‘1-Nenokkadine’. He was appreciated for his cute performance in the movie. Gautham is expected to be the future star of Ghattamaneni family.
Meanwhile, Mahesh is busy working for ‘Brahmotsavam’ at the moment. The movie has Samantha, Kajal and Pranitha in female lead roles. Micky J Meyer is composing the music of the movie. The movie is being directed by Srikanth Addala on PVP Cinema. MB Productions is co-producing the movie.
Buzz: NTR’s Casual Look Or Villain Avatar
For the first time ever, an actor from Nandamuri family is taking up antagonist roles. It’s none other than Nandamuri Tarakaratna Ramarao who debuted long back with Okato Number Kurradu. Finally he turned to mind blowing villainy now and as he flaunts his aged look at a function the other day, all eyes are glued to him now.
Though, this NTR, has took up being antagonist in Amaravati movie, he didn’t lay his hands on such roles later. Somehow he changed his mind now to pick up villain roles yet again. In Nara Rohit’s upcoming film “Raja Cheyyi Veste”, which has debutante Pradeep taking direction mantle, Tarakaratna will be seen as an anti-hero.
He’s sporting a fully grown beard, with certain salt and pepper style to it. Whether this is for the movie or just a casual look is unknown, but he looks dashing in a way.
On the other hand, there are reports earlier that Tarakaratna is being distanced by his family post his marriage to Alekya Reddy, a relative of YS Jagan’s auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy. But with him joining hands with Nara Rohith, all such gossips could be put down.
Blatant Usage Of Super Hits Continues
Using super hit films for their success became a norm in Telugu film industry. Recently we have seen how scenes from Attarintiki Daredi and Srimanthudu are used in the movie Bengal Tiger as a spoofs. They are the ones that are actually pulling the crowds. This blatant is continuing with two upcoming Christmas releases, Soukyam and Jata Kalise, as they focus on these spoofs for comedy.
In Soukyam we have 30 years Prithvi imitating Baahubali Sivudu’s shiva lingam lifting scenes, while in Jata Kalise there is Saptagiri imitating Mahesh from Srimanthudu.
For how many times Telugu industry depends on these spoofs to score marks at box office? Can’t we do something better to create comedy?
As we are discussing this happening, there are a dozen more films out there in production stage filming spoofs on Attarintiki Daredi, Baahubali and Srimanthudu. The situation is turning quite pathetic with these films equating their content with silly youtube videos.
Robot bai!
Robotic vacuum cleaners and floor washing robots with sweeping and wet mopping functions, doing chores inside homes, is not exactly new. They have been around, for a decade and more in the US—after a robotics engineer from the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab, Rodney Brooks co-founded iRobot in 1990 with two colleagues. However the company’s first domestic cleaning robot, Roomba was launched only in 2002. Home cleaning robots were first introduced in India in 2012 by a domestic company founded by Rajeev Karwal, under the brand name Milagrow which today has a slate of half a dozen home cleaning robots including some for cleaning glass windows, swimming pools and lawns. They have also cannily adapted the technology to Indian needs, by getting most of their indoor range to do both jhadoo and pocha.
iRobot has finally brought its flagship Roomba products to India a few weeks ago through Bangalore-headquartered Puresight Systems, offering models in 3 series—600, 700 and 800—all looking and working alike, with small variations in vacuum power, and ranging in cost from Rs 32,900 to Rs 69,900. I have been trying out the model 700 for a week. Like all models it has a pair of extractors rotating in opposite directions, to pick up debris from the floor. The extractors are enhanced by a vacuum, which directs the airflow through a narrow slit to collect fine dust. Another horizontally mounted “side spinner” brush sweeps against walls to reach debris not accessible by the main brushes and vacuum.
The robot is powered by a battery that has to be recharged from mains through a docking station, which is the homebase to which it returns after its chores are done. It includes a cliff sensor so that it does not fall down stairs. To create no-go areas, which you don’t want cleaned, you can build infrared ‘virtual walls’, using two additional ‘Lighthouse’ units provided. The robot is programmed by a built-in algorithm that follows a spiral path, cleaning in widening circles, and in another mode, follows the wall, changing its angle if it bumps into an obstacle like a chair leg.
One common problem with floor cleaning robots is that hair on the floor tends to entangle in the rotating parts, slowing it down. But the Roomba has a very simple system to remove and clean the extractors. The Roomba 700 which is a mid range model costs Rs 49,900. The Roomba robots are dry cleaners. For wet mopping, iRobot has another product the Brava 380t for hard floors, which uses reusable cleaning cloths. (Rs 27,900)
New app allows smart home devices to ‘talk’
Washington: Imagine a lamp that turns down the volume of your TV when you dim the lights or a car that switches on your home air conditioner when you leave the office! A new app may make this possible. MIT researchers have created an augmented reality app that lets you link together smart objects around you just by drawing connections with your finger between them.
The Reality Editor smartphone app aims to give users the power to fully control the smart objects in their lives. For example, a lamp can turn down the volume on your TV when you dim the lights, a light switch can also turn off your television, or a car that switches on your home air conditioner in the summer when you leave the office.
“Imagine a future where everything around you can be controlled,” said Valentin Heun of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s Fluid Interfaces Lab, who developed the app. The smartphone app uses fingerprint-like codes that identify smart objects when viewed within the app, ‘Fastcodesign.com’ reported.
It then calls up a literal HTML webpage, representing that object’s corresponding functionality, and overlays it on the gadget so that users can programme it.
